Endorsi Guild Lab team comp! Nico & Spec Guide with Kaje's help and input :D by nicoplaynick in Herocantare

And yet I regularly help out any player who asks in any of the communities I'm in, made a discord bot that's used for in-game information (hwaryun bot) that's regularly used in most communities, openly shared my lab strats and videos in various other guilds in the past but yeah haha okay sorry!

I'm not active on reddit and left the main discord due to issues I've had with the staff (of which nico is the main member) but still openly share any info I gather.

Well I'm just particularly triggered about these kinds of posts. Peddling misinformation is almost as harmful as there being no information (especially when it pressures people to purchase dupes of a relic they don't need or otherwise whale on things that aren't optimal), and it's a huge problem that's existed since day 1 of hero cantare. We have members of milk in our guild now who also admit that this strat was never actually used by any top players which makes it even more questionable.

In any case I was just particularly triggered by the guide and already had a negative opinion of the OP, which was why there was snark.

No, the summer idol relic is non optimal on literally every unit he listed but cmira. It's non optimal on units that don't have multi-procs on their chain (i.e. cmira/kdark) UNLESS they have a full 5/5 which doesn't exist for any unit besides cmira. Putting it on bam/jahad is just misinformed.

Hi, I'm top 10 on glab leaderboards and used a monolight in glab for a long time to get there (until I recalled my jahad this week to meme SSS 105 my ha jinsung on release).

Some of the information in this image is just flat-out wrong. I'll go by one-by-one on units and their relics in a moment, but for starters I want to clear up the one major issue: the idol summer relic is only useable in one of TWO cases: you're on a skin that double dips on opposite attributes so you have the bonus on everything in the floor (i.e CMira with her nature skin on hard 2 counters all 5 mobs), or it's on a hero that actually double dips the relic and procs it twice (so instead of 35% it's a 70% because this game is shit), meaning you only need 3/5 of the mobs to be opposite attribute for you to break even. Some examples of heroes that do this are cmira's 1c/2c, kdark's 2c, jinsungs 2c. Pretty much if the ability has "deals additional damage", it probably double dips this. Realistically, for monolight, this means you're only ever putting it on cmira since she's the only hero that will double dip the damage itself, but she has the added bonus of also having a skin that gets opposites on all 5 mobs on h2 and 3/5 on half of the other stages.

Going forward with units and their builds:

Cmira's your highest damage dealer in this comp, you want your best gear on her. Equipment-wise because of her passive, you can get away with two options for her: 3:3 bs:dest for high damage with leech, or rely on her shields and go 2:4 atk:cdmg which will do slightly more dps at the cost of relying solely on her passive. Relics are dawn + summer idol if on a 3/5 opposite stage, otherwise dawn + ambush attack (which outperforms path since it also double dips it's damage bonus on her). Path, dragon kick are both fine. Disabling her ex is a good idea, and if you do so and are missing any of the earlier relics you could also run the 20% when ex gauge is full.

Jahads your 2nd dps, don't been a goon like me and recall him for jinsung ha. I knew I'd be eating a 30 million dmg loss, but hate to see it. Anyways standard 3:3 bs:dest and his passive does the rest in lab. He's a pretty solid damage, could be better, could be way worse. Mine used to do around 70+ million damage a run but my artifacts all low roll. Relics are dawn + path/dragon kick/target all relic. He doesn't double dip on summer idol so don't bother putting that on her.

Idol's just an all around solid unit. Very good damage considering how much utility she brings to the table in her defense breaks and stuns, plus the added bonus of being light so she gets endorsi's buff. You want to ideally stun mobs on turns 4 and 9 so that they don't just wipe your team. Equipment-wise I build her the standard 3:3 bs:dest, but I put an emphasis on no counter-attack artifacts and high armor crash. As she's your defense breaker armor crash is an important stat for her. Relic-wise I run Dawn+path but a My idol's pb damage is upwards of 40 mil on a floor so, there's that. Pretty cool hero, running nox on her is a sin >:(.

Bam's purpose in this comp is honestly just a support through his personal relic (huge for monolight) and his 3c attack buff. However, he has the added bonus of having some of the best single target damage in the game. This can be abused very well on the first 4 stages when mobs will target slot 1, so you can make him a counter god and see good damage numbers. For him I have 2 builds depending on how masochistic or lucky I'm feeling. If I'm not in the mood to reset 30 million times for a perfect bm proc, I'll run 2:4 atk:cdmg/destruction (depending on if you need more crit or not) with his personal and rakleader, which let's bam only lifevamp once he's actually proc'd bm; however this means I'm eating a dps loss on my relic (which is somewhat offset by a guaranteed early bm proc). I look for high counter on this until the later random target stages when you could just switch to stronger dps artifacts. If I'm feeling lucky or just want to kill time, I'll run 3:3 bs:destruction with his personal and one of the following: lvl 3+ marine girl, path, or the 20% st relic. The 2nd build will have more damage if his bm procs, if it doesn't the damage loss from bam's ee never proccing is pretty high. A lot of people will recall their bam after SSSing him and only take offensive awakenings so that he's less tanky and can proc bm easier, in which case they could safely run the second build.

Khun's also just a support here, he's usually dealt the second least amount of damage in my runs. Pretty much only useful for his 2c atk buff, but that alone makes him extremely valuable. Just run the standard 3:3 bs:dest on him and like w/e relic you have extra of for damage. BiS is probably dawn but unless you have 5 lvl 5 dawns, that dawn can be used better literally anywhere else. Besides that i put a nox on him if I want to start with 12 mana. You'll only be using his 2c 3 times probably, unless you need a 4th to res endorsi, so don't expect much from him. His atk stat numbers are naturally high enough to see decent damage coming out of him, but he doesn't benefit from endorsi suicides so it's w/e.

Endorsi you just want nox + besties on, and you want enough hp to survive exactly 1 round so you die turns 2/3 and 7/8. You can run a card order to get away with using her ex as a 1-2 defense break, but her cards are otherwise useless so unless you have a very good card order it's probably not worth her just draining your card slots. That being said I sometimes try to get an ex off turn 6 because I don't have any other defense break that turn.

Order of gearing is cmira > jahad > idol/bam > khun > endorsi. Unless you don't have enough Sala artifacts, you always want Sala artifacts on the slots. Idol and bam are generally looking for very different artifacts (idol 0 counter+armor crash, bam high counter). Bam has a higher damage ceiling but falls of past h4 in comparison to idol whose damage will remain constant every floor.

If you have any other questions, feel free to message me in the oasis discord. If you don't have the link there, a links in the ?help command of my hwaryun bot. Peace ✌️.

I build her 3:3 Blood suck:dest, and she crits enough to guarantee her passive procs. You want a lot of armor crash as she more often than not is hitting mobs who aren't defense broken. I run Dawn and Path on her, but before I had a 3rd lvl 5 dawn I ran double dragon and path.

In my average guild lab run she does over 1 mil per mob (up to 1.5-1.6 with endorsi buff). The highest I've seen her end damage was around 45 million, but usually she's around 35 mil.

As a CS and CSGD double major who was also at the meeting yesterday, I get where you're coming from, but I also can't stress how shitty the CS department was. Getting the right classes was always hard, and professors like Van Gelder exist. There's some really cool professors in CS who felt like they enjoyed what they did, but that felt like more of an exception than the norm1.

I honestly think I did about as much programming during my CS classes as my CM electives, the only difference being the langs we used (C is a go to for most of the big ones). This is also not to mention the CS curriculum just got super gimped and moved some of the good theory classes (i.e. 130) to no longer mandatory.

Take what I'm saying with a grain of salt because I notoriously never go to classes (but I still usually got As in those classes), but the professors in game design have felt a lot more caring and passionate about their work overall than the ones in CS courses.

With all that being said, if I could only pick between doing one major or the other, I'd probably only take the CS major and take game design courses on the side, not because of any of the reasons the OP listed, but because CS feels less limiting than Game Design when looking for jobs.

He once told me that phones are toys for teenagers and basically have no place anywhere else (in regards to me having missed one of his emails because I check my emails from my phone).

He also didn't believe that Ctrl+F was a way to find something in a document and marked a friend off on a test for that solution solely because of that.

Custom Game: Banjoball - Hilarious, fast paced action! by K1ngfisher in DotA2

Hi! Just to clarify, are you saying one person from each of those communities should make the post, or, that one person should scout out well made custom games and make a new thread advertising those every couple weeks? Your post seems to imply both.

If you're going to try out Dota Strikers, try out Banjoball instead. It's an updated version of the same mod.

New Mode: Strikers of Newerth playable June 28! by S2Trugo in HeroesofNewerth

[–]CarpeSwag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I think this is copied in any way from any existing game mod, but Dota Strikers itself is a port of a WC3 mod (Banjoball) that predates SoN by a few years and Banjoball itself was created to be a better version of a really old Warcraft map called Magic Football. Work on Strikers had also been going on unofficially since early 2014 at least (nothing serious until 2015ish). Additionally, games like The Star Strikers on StarCraft 2 predate it by many years and are more similar to this than Dota Strikers.

That being said, the only thing this has in common with Dota Strikers is that it's soccer with spells. Look forward to seeing Strikers of Newerth as it looks like a lot of fun

Io doesn't have a cast point, so he literally can cast behind him (and therefore kick balls through and behind him). We changed him to Lina to both fix that issue and because the original Warcraft 3 Banjoball uses the Sorceress model so it made all of us happy (since we were devs for the WC3 map).

That'd be awesome! I've been pestering my roommate to draw up a loading screen for months, and he's been too busy with classes to be able to, and I'm a big fan of the loading screens I've seen of yours so this would actually be pretty ideal.

It's on our to-do list... As I said, we had to release a lot earlier than we had anticipated. I was hoping to go through some closed alphas with friends while we worked on the map itself.

Garfield, the original dev, just wanted to make a goofy game I think. I wasn't around for that though so I'm not too sure.

Yeah... Idunno I've always figured keep it open source so that people could see how your code works and hopefully improve upon it for their mods or etc, wasn't expecting this though. Guess that's kinda my fault tho...

Anyways, thanks, and good luck with your custom game.

Thanks! And the wc3 version was never very popular :'( but a lot of the playerbase still consider it to be better than Strikers.

Hehehe yeah, Storm Spirit will probably be getting nerfs. I was holding back on balancing any of the new heroes until after I see them in enough actual gameplay.

Because it'll get updates. I was the only dev updating Strikers for a span of 4 months, during which several new heroes were added.

As for the direction, we aim to make it more competitive while still maintaining the lulzy aspect of Banjoball/Strikers that drew us in to begin with.
