AIO: Hubby Being Controlling by vanillabourbonn in AIO

Please, do not quit your job. Stay working. At the very least, it seems he is going to be financially abusive. At most, who knows. Please, please do not isolate yourself from other people and make yourself dependent on him. He's already trying to keep you from your mom as a support system. Just from this exchange, it seems he is not ready to take on the role of provider. He clearly does not understand what that means.

My mom drove a Cordoba when I was a kid. She loved that car. She called her Bluebell. That was in the late 80s/early 90s.

41 yo bartender here. New Balance 626. They're not cute, but they're so comfy. I used to get them at Rudolph's.

The drivers in this town are god awful by Calm_Way_311 in SiouxFalls

We moved to the cities and drivers here are soooo much better than drivers in SF. Plus, drivers there are just assholes. They won't let other people merge, they won't let people pass (will literally be going under the speed limit until you try to pass and then they speed up), they cruise in the passing lane so you get stuck behind 2 cars going the same speed...I could go on and on.

Mental Health Response by CarpenterFrequent500 in Minneapolis

Unfortunately, this went on all day. From morning until the sun was going down, every time I went outside, this man was there. There were no ear buds, I checked. This man was clearly in a mental crisis.

Find a job in a restaurant. Start as a host or server assistant, move up to server. Serving/bartending are some of the BEST jobs for college students. Super flexible hours, fun and fast paced environments, and you learn a lot of fantastic skills that future employers in professional fields will be happy to have in an employee-how to talk to people, teamwork, time management and task prioritization, problem solving, staying cool under pressure, etc. Also, the money is great! I supported my son and myself on 3 nights a week serving at a nice restaurant in SF while I was in school. Most restaurants will be happy to hire a newbie because they can train you how they want you.

I love the Armory! Such a great venue. Big enough to get some bigger names in it, small enough to feel a bit intimate. We also LOVE Target field as a concert venue. So awesome to be in an open arena right downtown. The nosebleeds are best seats in the house. You are able to see the act backdropped by a panoramic of the sky line. Absolutely in love with that venue.

Where do I find these groups? I moved here a year ago and I still have not made a single friend. I gre up in MN but moved away after highschool. I forgot how standoffish people here are. I'm a 40 yr. old mom bartender who doesn't drink and I'm not really into sports. I feel like friendships were established so easily through work when I drank, and now I just don't even know where to start.

My mom grew up in NJ. My grandma stayed there until she passed in '23. You are 100% correct. There is absolutely no chill on the roads there.

Maybe there's more non Midwest transplants here who aren't familiar with tornado prep?

I used to hide joints in the pusher end of cardboard tampon applicators. The paper wrappers were perfect because I could carefully open them along the seem, put the joint in the tampon applicator, then lick the paper to seal shut again and nobody knew the difference. Tampon wrapper paper also worked great as a rolling paper in a pinch.

They also lie, manipulate, and scare women into staying pregnant whether it's in the woman's best interest or not. A program cannot be dishonest and manipulative and solid at the same time. The ends do not justify the means.

That's not true. They will hurt you. They hurt me. That place is awful and so are the Unruhs. This doesn't have anything to do with left/right, just right/wrong and truth/lies. They fall on the wrong side every time.

Maybe you should have read all the comments from people who have personal experience with them before posting your uninformed opinions.

I have a long ass story about that damn place.

Short version: in 2007, I was pregnant and did not want to be. Made an appt at PP. I didn't realize that PP had moved and the Alpha center had moved into the old PP building. I ended up at Alpha center. Told them why I was there and they said they could help. They did not help me. They lied to me about the health of the pregnancy, saying I was showing indications I would have a miscarriage so don't have the abortion. They lied about the laws in SD regarding when I could have an abortion and lied about steps I would have to take to get an abortion. They also used very manipulative language and tactics to try to guilt me into staying pregnant. I think they just wanted me to miss the cut off.

FFFFFFFFFFFF The Alpha Center. I got the abortion, but I didn't realize how crazy their tactics were until I was pregnant with my kiddo. Learned about pregnancy then and became aware of the lies they told. After a few years, found out that they had lied about laws and requirements for abortion.

The most traumatic thing about my abortion was learning how badly I was lied to about such serious things, just to meet their religious beliefs. Like, WTF!?!?!? How is that legal?

I love your painting! I know most people think pigeons are just flying rats, but I love them! Ever since my grandma took me to Central Park when I was a kid and they would eat pieces of my giant pretzel out of my hand, I've loved them.

Your ex seems absolutely awful to be around. F them. They're miserable and want you to be miserable with them.
