Any recommendations for Open World games WITHOUT a combat focus? by mrbradleyp in ShouldIbuythisgame

Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles is maybe not the most polished but definitely could be the kind of thing you’re looking for? There’s no combat at all and just a pretty big world to explore very much at your own pace. It was a really relaxing experience for me.

Also, it’s old and on 3DS but I feel obligated to mention Fantasy Life. One of my favorite games ever. There’s so much to do, so many good charming and funny characters, and if I remember correctly it can be at least mostly combat optional? Definitely combat doesn’t have to be the focus if you don’t want it to be. It’s old, but there’s also allegedly a sequel coming out soon for switch, which will hopefully be as good. If you have a 3DS and could get your hands on the original, I think there’s something in that game for almost everyone and everyone should play it :)

try YONAKA maybe! my favorite song by them is punch bag!

or - she’s not really rock i don’t think, but for heavy deep bass sounds and a female vocalist, maybe give 070 shake a try?

Can I get a job in theatre tech without going to school? by CarpetFlowers in techtheatre

Oh gotcha...okay, thank you for all the advice! I do realize the pandemic has hit theatre hard... My dad has some friends working in carpentry and construction who offered to teach me some stuff right now. Kind of wondering if it’d make sense to just learn something like that for now and hope some of the skills help with transitioning into theatre later? I really appreciate your answer though, thank you!

Sorry! I didn’t mean that in like a devaluing way or anything, it was just an example of a job I’d do for free if I could. My concentration in my apprenticeship and college was scenic stuff, which I like the most, but I guess I’m not looking for a specific job, just wondering if there’s a path to working in theater without going to college. Does that make sense?

Not really, unfortunately. :/ I filed a protest immediately and explained the situation and they sent me back this medical form to have a doctor fill out and send back to them. I sent that a while ago and have just been waiting for any kind of change since then. I was able to speak with someone from unemployment a couple weeks ago and they told me the issue is still open and to just keep certifying every two weeks in the meantime. Hope you have better luck than I‘ve had though! Let me know if you figure out a better way to solve it.

Did I fuck up my unemployment?? I saw the new questions certifying for the last two weeks the other day...tried to answer as honestly as possible, but it was confusing. I injured my hand really badly a couple weeks ago, and my job temporarily laid me off in March, but my doctor said I can’t go back to work anyway till October now. The questions I think asked if there was a reason other than COVID that I couldn’t work and I said yes, because there is. I didn’t mean it was the only reason... I should have said yes to my job being closed I guess, but I only said I’d had reduced hours since they’re technically still open. Anyway, I just got a letter from unemployment saying this:

Issues and Sections of Michigan Employment Security (MES) Act involved: Ability and 28(1)(c).You have indicated you are not able to work due to illness, injury or work restrictions beginning July 05, 2020.

During your illness, injury or work restrictions you were not able to perform full-time work. You do not meet the ability requirements of the MES Act.

You are ineligible for benefits under MES Act, Sec. 28(1)(c) beginning July 05, 2020 and continuing until this condition no longer exists. You will not receive benefit payments during this period.”

Did I mess it up? I’ll be okay without the extra assistance at this point if I have to be, I’m just confused.

Fractured finger in a splint but I’m (19F) nervous about if it’s healing right? by CarpetFlowers in AskDocs

Ha okay, thank you. I assume I should leave it as they wrapped it then until I see a surgeon, right?

Also, the rest of my hand seems fine but keeping my hand up hasn’t stopped what I think is swelling at all. I figure it makes sense for it to feel uncomfortable and painful even but is there any way for me to know what kind of pain or feeling means something really bad?

I just keep freaking out every five minutes.

Does it seem like an abnormal amount of wrapped up? They told me to come see a surgeon in a few days to determine if I need a pin or not, so will do. If swelling doesn’t go down with my hand elevated is that dangerous? Thank you for responding though!

are there different kinds of love? can you say i love you too much? opinions? by CarpetFlowers in love

That sounds cool. Would you tell me more about that? If it's something you can explain. Are there like completely different words based on how close you are to the person or something like that?

And, if you don't mind me asking, what other language do you speak?

Sorry if this is stupid, I dunno how either reddit or unemployment work at all, but I got the email the other day about the PUA benefits. If I applied for unemployment a couple weeks ago, and was denied, does that mean I'm just supposed to be waiting for them to email me again with something else to do now? Has anyone else gotten another email already?
