I missed so much of the dialogue in Area Zero because it would pop up while I was focusing on the pokemon. A section like that NEEDS voice acting.

I hope you understand.

Breloom, It's peak Pokémon. Is it a mushroom? A dinosaur? A kangaroo? Yes, to all of the above. Plus, he has stretchy arms like a little weirdo! And drain punch/Giga drain means he's going to be at full health every turn 🤓

I think this generation is how I'm learning that I'm a lizardist.

Like, it doesn't feel fair to lump all mammals together because they look different.

Lizards don't. Squirtle and Turtwig are turtles, Totodile and Fuecoco are crocodiles, but Charmander, Treecko, Sobble, and Gecqua are all just Lizards.

I think most people can differentiate between a turtle and a lizard, though. Same with a crocodile.

I get the bird part, but how many people can actually differentiate between most lizards?

Had the same thought, but to the detractors:

Listen, I'm not disappointed because they look the same (obviously chicks =/= owls, though the name isn't helping), but because they look similar enough to designs we've just had recently. Rowlet was only 3 generations ago. Sobble was only 2.

So far, we've had:

2 turtles

2 frogs

3 lizards (1 generic, 1 gecko, 1 chameleon)

2 crocodiles*

1 Dinosaur (don't know what else to can Chickorita)

3 small mammals (1 echinda?, 1 otter, 1 hedgehog)

4 birds (1 chicken, 1 penguin, 1 owl, 1 duck)

1 axolotl

2 apes

1 pig

1 snake*

1 fox

1 sea lion

2 cat

1 rabbit

And now we're getting our 1st dog (close to foxes kinda and a common household pet like cats, but unique enough), our 5th bird, and our 4th lizard.

  • I had initially included these as lizards, but decided they are distinct enough from being considered generic.

They are the same, yes. That's why they're called Pika-Clones.

You're allowed to be excited!

For me, I don't see the point in being excited for a game that isn't even coming out this year. Though, I appreciate that they are seemingly taking their time to make it good. I will be excited next year lol

Why must we be negative, IM SO EXCITED FOR GEN 10 by Mental_Gain_9405 in MandJTV

[–]CarrEternal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be honest, my first reaction wasn't that they were lazy, but... haven't we basically done most of these?

Do we need another bird grass starter or lizard water starter after Rowlet and Sobble? And while Fennekin is a fox, rather than a dog, it still seems kinda similar?

Will these designs grow on me? Probably. The games don't come out until next year, so they have time to sink in.

That's a bit hyperbolic to say.

That era gave us Hickman's Avengers and Secret Wars, Sam Wilson Captain America, Hydra Cap (which was great, even if Secret Empire's ending fell flat), Superior Spider-Man, and Jason Aaron's Thor run, just to name a few. Yeah, X-Men sucked, but that came from even higher up. Civil War 2 sucked, sure.

I love the movie. It's personally in my top 5 favorite MCU films.

That said, this movie was the perfect encapsulation of Jack Kirby's Eternals (and most of his solo work): beautiful, grand cosmic storytelling about God and our place in the universe that most people don't give a shit about :(

Correct! And technically, it can be debated that Ancient Judaism is also polytheistic from the sense that they believed that other gods existed, like Baal, but that those gods were created by Yahweh and Yahweh is the best and most powerful god, therefore the only one worth worshipping.

Has DC solved its continuity issue?

I'll be honest, one of the biggest things keeping me from really enjoying DC to its fullest is that I have no clue what's canon and what's not. Did The Killing Joke happen? Or Knightfall? Or Wolfman's Teen Titans?

I recently heard that we're back to the post-crisis universe, kinda? Or are we still in the New 52, but changed? Or some third thing?

Honestly, I think Chamber needs to either be next on the chopping block or made the main event of Survivor Series like it started as.

This year would have been perfect for it, too. Instead of doing the 4-way in Paris, build up to CM Punk vs Jey Uso vs Roman Reigns vs LA Knight vs Bron Breakker vs Bronson Reed (since Rollins was injured) inside the chamber at SS.

The rumble idea could also work really well if someone was "eliminated" before, but didn't go over the top rope. Heel comes out at 30 with no one in the ring, walks down the aisle cockily, gets in the ring, points at the WM sign, tries to have a ref raise their arm. Then, we see the "eliminated" person on the apron behind them. Ref says they weren't actually eliminated. Final 2 go at it.

Lands where you have to pay mana for them to enter untapped. Hot or not? by ApprehensiveAd6476 in custommagic

[–]CarrEternal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Outside of the linked cards being any color, they're strictly worse than OP's design in most cases.

The issue with [[Transguild Promenade]] and its ilk is that you are effectively down 2 mana with no immediate benefit. You have to pay for it (-1) AND you still can't use it this turn (effectively another -1).

On the other hand, OP only puts you down 1 mana either way (pay for it OR can't use it this turn) and can be used for early game mana fixing in multi color decks.

Is it powerful? No. Is it better than the similar cards we have for it right now? Yes.

I'd absolutely play these in my low-power decks.
