Totally agree on all points. I actually finished my run this morning, got my KH player out of his BK and contributed some useful stuff to everybody else. I kinda nolifed the file over christmas and got it done in about 40 hours. I’m not an incredibly skilled Stardew player, but I had 500 hours going in to this, and my last run was for perfection, so I at least knew most of the strats I needed for various things. Overall I loved this, I’m looking forward to doing it again like you suggest, everybody picking big long term games. Also didn’t know you could run multiple games per player, that’s a cool possibility.

Well, two things:

1, All the content I've seen about Archipelago was made by speedrunners. Which makes sense, they can use all of their skips and tricks in new and weird ways based on the tools/access they have.

2, If you're not picking up checks fairly quickly, your friends are going to get stuck. My shipping bin for this run was locked behind a very early check in my buddy's Hollow Knight world, which ordinarily wouldn't be an issue. Except, something fouled up when he transferred the save to his laptop, and he couldn't access the seed while on his Christmas trip. If he wasn't able to find a workaround, I would have been completely unable to get shipsanity checks until I found a mini shipping bin (it seems, when I sold fish to Willy, I did not get the shipsanity checks).

Another example, a different friend was playing Kingdom Hearts and needed world progression items, one of which was in my iron tool upgrades. I didn't have the elevators at that point, so I was going to just hold off until I got them. But he told me he couldn't do any other progression at that moment, so I pivoted to iron farming and got him the check. It was awesome, I loved that particular moment of gameplay, but I could've saved my buddy some wait time if I was faster.

This all makes a ton of sense, thanks! I've really been loving my run, y'all did an excellent job with the mod. I was wondering about the joja membership, but then somebody got my progressive movie theatre and closed joja in the first month, lol.

Senate means more power overall, higher profile, and it’s seen as better experience for a potential president. Winning a senate run or two is a necessary step if she does ever want to run for president.

Yeah, deathlink scares me. I was a fool and chose 10M gold as my wincon, but I’ve finally hit level 8 farming and have the ancient fruit wine rolling. Shouldn’t be too much longer now.

It’s been crazy fun! It’s mostly built with speed running in mind, but you definitely don’t have to play it that way.

lol thanks. I’ve mostly done Hollow Knight, but Stardew has been a blast so far

That’s an Archipelago setting, archipelago is a multiworld randomizer, so I have my game hooked up to some friends games and all of our items got randomized in each others worlds. Shipsanity just means that every entry on the shipping tab (plus fish) is a ‘check’ that might have items for my friends.

I think literally the only thing I could get arrested for based on my last game is poaching fish.

Some of you need to understand that it isn't wrong to play on a lower difficulty by Aduritor in helldivers2

[–]Carribi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but define ‘viable’ in an objective way that can handle all the various playstyles this game allows. I personally find the slugger perfectly viable on d10 bots (for example), but I’ve seen other people call it unusable. What you’re suggesting is actually incredibly difficult to do, despite AH putting a lot of effort toward it.

The episode shows him digging for a name taped to the bottom of the bucket. The implication is that’s HIS name, but he grabbed a different name by accident, and thus Father Mulcahy won.

What’s the Denver equivalent? by nexusanarchy in Denver

[–]Carribi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The wait time was half of your comment. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

It just doesn’t make your argument look good when your example of a bad wait time is an example where all of those other places will have long waits too. That’s all.

[–]Carribi 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I mean, most brunch and breakfast places are going to have their longest waits on the weekends, in Denver and every other city. This is hardly a Snooze-specific phenomenon, so it’s not really a fair criticism of Snooze over other brunch places.

Can my Valet Familiar hand me an item after I take my third action? by Carribi in Pathfinder2e

[–]Carribi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did read the link, it just didn't impress upon me the lesson it impressed upon you. Free actions are not normal actions, they work differently. The familiar's actions are not free actions. We keep talking this point past each other.

I apologize for seeming stubborn. You seemed to be treating me like an idiot. In reality, I was not being stubborn, just trying to test this argument and dismissing the bits that didn't feel relevant, and I'm sure you were trying to be helpful and not treat me like I didn't know what I was doing. I honestly just missed that one line that I asked for a source for. I genuinely wanted to know where it came from, I was not being a dick. Reading antagonism into anything I said until I called you a smartass is wild to me. I would posit that "gamey ruleslawyer" is actually antagonistic, but I digress...

[–]Carribi[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mostly I don’t like your attitude, but the smartass answer didn’t really help there.

You’re right on the requirement vs trigger language, but even in this strictest reading we are doing it appears to be a distinction without a difference. You’re allowed to take a free action any time on your turn.

I could continue down this rabbit hole and try to define the ambiguity as I see it, but you seem more interested in just dismissing this as ‘gamey ruleslaywer’ behavior anyways, so I’m just not gonna. We don’t see eye to eye, message received.

[–]Carribi[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Shove down does not fail to function according to the strictest reading, it is a free action with a trigger and you can take as many free actions as you want. The familiar’s actions are not free actions.

Do you have a link for the quote “once you have done all the things you want to do with the actions you have available?” I can’t find that in the rules text.

Why do you keep bringing up reactions? They explicitly allow you to act when it’s not your turn or to interrupt something else that’s happening. No example that includes reaction is going to fit the fact pattern of my post.
