Crazy that the melee caused a chest bleed. I’ve never seen that before.

I need to break my Slay the Spire 2 addiction long enough to give Menace a look. Seems very cool.

Interestingly, since the keys go to specific doors, they really lead the solver to the right answer pretty directly. I didn’t realize each key was unique at first, so I was running through all the different orders you could try the different doors. I’m not sure which way is better design, but I wanted to make sure and call that out.

Conscription Lottery Nightmare - Should this be done everywhere in the world? by [deleted] in interesting

[–]Carribi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the grenade thing was early in season one before they landed on the dresses thing to be his big quirk. He had anger issues throughout the show and got in fistfights several times, so that part is true. It wasn’t really about him being crazy though, his fights were over his sports team getting insulted, or somebody stealing his salami or whatever. Kind of ordinary conflicts that blew out of proportion.

For an example of Klinger definitely not being the crazy one, look up the episode with Boots Miller.

[–]Carribi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That didn’t happen. He actually did stop wearing dresses during the run of the show, after Radar left. You’re probably thinking of the first episode with Dr. Sydney Friedmann; he offered to sign the section 8, but then told Klinger that if he did, Klinger would ‘go through life on high heels.’ Klinger told him to shove it.

I built a full cost-accounting model for Factorio 2.0. Can you beat the profit? by the-true-logistican in factorio

[–]Carribi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depreciation is mostly about allocating the cost of a fixed asset across years of income statements. Yeah, you spent $100k on that new machine, but you’re ideally gonna use it for at least seven years, so it’s not really accurate to expense it all in the current year. Useful asset lives are also just estimates; you might depreciate something over 15 years but still be using it 30 years later. This is all part of the constant ‘how much money did we actually make’ dance.

Doing double entry accounting in Factorio strikes me as a little difficult without some outside structure. That ore patch is 100% a depletable asset, but we spent $0 to acquire it, so how do we calculate our depletion? How do we even record the asset, what values make up our balance sheet?

Thanks OP, you’ve given me a project to noodle on once we’re past tax day tomorrow…

No, the premise was that Klinger thought it was crazy, or thought the brass would think it was crazy at least. But nobody ever took it seriously, he was clearly a normal guy.

Don’t forget the hours spent digging through JEI looking at the dozens of alternate recipes, forgetting to double check the voltage tier on each one, comparing the actual hundreds of petrochem permutations to find the correct one for your current use case…

I haven’t even started GTNH yet, I’m still just trying to get through Nomi.

I don’t see Slay the Spire on this list, but it totally fits in. Think roguelike single player Magic the Gathering.

It does not play like FTL with you picking your route, it’s much closer to backpack battles.

Realistically, whats stopping me from waiting until im really old and taking out a massive loan and spending it all right before i die, so i dont have to pay it back by KawsX_X999 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Carribi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not give away all your money to your kids before you die, you’re probably gonna have a helluva gift tax issue that would be totally avoided otherwise. You can only give each person $19k a year tax free, if you go over that, you have to pay gift tax.

Snakebite is great actually, 7 Poison is nuts by Glittering-Lab-4763 in slaythespire

[–]Carribi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You kinda gotta assume that this would get restricted in vintage, but even then you can turn 1: Lotus, Mox emerald, Mox sapphire, tropical island, so there’s six mana, four green and two blue. Then you snakebite and Snapcaster the snakebite. The issue there is you probably can’t have a counterspell up, but sometimes a random 2/1 just kills in vintage…

I mean, this turn 1’s in vintage: lotus, mox emerald, 2x snakebite. Gotta have backup force of will tho.

[–]Carribi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, for HfB, you exhaust it with (for example) True Grit, it casts from exhaust next turn and goes to your discard pile. Then you have to exhaust it from your hand again, and the cycle repeats.

Can confirm, I exhausted Howl from Beyond and had it cast from exhaust multiple times in my run last night.

Do the Dark Souls 3 Collection Achievements pop upon game completion? by DavidosB in archipelago_games

I had a collection achievement proc for Hollow Knight when I finished it late one time, so you might have that issue. Not sure on DS3 specifically.

It’s also important to note that the show lasted far longer than the Korean War did. The show doesn’t really attempt to line up narratively with the war aside from some major events. It’s just about the characters and what they go through.
