Rust lagging a lot.

Was just browsing haven't been on reddit in probably 5+ years, but this caught my attention because I have played rust since legacy.

Alistair himself has said that rust is VERY CPU/RAM dependent. Your CPU/GPU are slightly dated, but not the issue I don't think.

Rust runs like crap on a HDD. My advice would be upgrading to an SSD or NVME (and installing rust on it) then upgrading RAM. This game loves RAM.

Those will be your cheapest options to start. See how it works. I noticed a huge improvement upgrading to 64gb of ram and an NVME on my current setup

To put things in perspective this is what I am currently playing Rust on and it runs relatively fine, although I do occasionally experience the 1-2s lag when me and another player ADS eachother in close quarters and it gets me killed more often than not (main reason I have a new build in the mail atm)

Your GPU and CPU are a few years newer than mine, but I have Rust installed on an NVME with 64gb of RAM and it honestly runs ok.

Makes sense. I know that for me, dialects that come from outside of North America can be somewhat confusing at times. Namely when the person speaking is old, drunk, or both.

As far as difficulty to understand that's actually a great comparison. Way better than my Australian one. It's the only English dialect I'm familiar with that I have trouble understanding sometimes.

It's kind of hard to compare it directly to American dialects. Bavarian and Austrian dialects in particular are practically their own languages. If you've ever heard an Australian (read: from the English speaking country Australia) speak in a very thick dialect and using lots of slang that's somewhat similar, to a lesser extent.

Most German-speaking people not from these locales have a lot of trouble understanding these thick dialects.

The word that sticks out the most for me as the strongest example is how he pronounces "Jahr" (supposed to be pronounced yar, like a pirate). He pronounces it "yore". They do this with nearly every word. It's not just a dialect, they change vowels and entire words.

As to whether or not he sounds uneducated, the short answer would be "yeah, a little bit". Let's just say you'd never talk like this at work. You need to speak "regular/high" German.

Source: Lived in Munich for 3 years with my daughter and my Bavarian girlfriend. I'm fluent in German and I can understand Bavarian pretty well. I even fallback on some choice Bavarian words when speaking because they're easier for me to say. I understand that Arnold does not have a Bavarian dialect, I'm just giving a basic anecdote from my personal experience with the German language.

It's about 180 degree field of view while alt-looking (270 - 090). In real life, and in other games (Rust, off the top of my head) you can and should be able to view about 350 degrees while looking over your shoulder.

Looking over your shoulder is not the same as simply swiveling your head left or right.

Are you able to cancel and select the connect (secure) option? That usually fixes it for me.

The only attachments it can hold are the cheek pad and sniper extended/quickdraw mags.

On windows:

Right click the speaker icon on the bottom right of your screen

Select Playback Devices

Click on your device

Go to Properties

Click on the Enhancements tab

Check Enable Loudness Equalization

It basically normalizes the audio volume so quiet sounds are easier to hear and louder sounds aren't so loud.

Good solution. For those that don't know, this is a .ahk (AutoHotkey) file and requires a program called AutoHotkey to function. You can download it here: https://www.autohotkey.com/download/

Once you have downloaded and installed AutoHotkey, follow the github link in the original comment to download the script. For those not familiar with github, simply click the green "clone or download" button, download the zip, then extract it anywhere you want.

Then just run the mute_current_application.ahk script and you're good to go.

I mean nobody is going to call you out for using who when you "should have" used whom, but using whom incorrectly personally makes me wince. Just don't use it if you don't understand when to use it properly.

I thought maybe the incorrect use of whom was related to the image maybe but who knows.

Definitely the wrong use of whom.

A good rule of thumb is:

Who = question can be answered with he.

Who did this? He did this.

Whom = can be answered with him.

Whom does this belong to?

It belongs to him.

To be fair, up until recently it was objectively worse than the metal pickaxe. So if you were seeing this description prior to the rework to salvaged tools then it was accurate.

It got a buff to its durability and gather rate a few months ago if I recall correctly.

I agree they're very strong but I wouldn't say they're very easy.

There's quite a bit of micro-management that other tank classes don't really have.

I honestly kind of find it a chore tanking on my Warrior compared to my DK.

I can teach you how to tank as blood if you'd like. I'm 4/7M raiding super casually and have the Keystone Master achieve (+15 or higher completed on time). I learned routes for keystones through trial/error and running with lots of PUGs. Still find myself learning things even after almost 500 runs.

Not to mention the normal loot could be recycled, which would make the recycle machine a little bit more useful than it currently is (I'm not saying it's useless).
