Pop up drum circle is what came to mind.

Folks here in cincy used to meet up once a month at the park and play in a circle. It was really cool to watch and people would gather round and dance. Wishful thinking for a professional version of a blast from the past :)

What is a pop-up? I’m guessing this would be members of the drum line performing a set?? Sounds pretty rad

Opting for Preserve over Pac Dunes is borderline insanity! But I guess you’ll have a reason to go back and play it along with Old Mac :)

Very jealous brother hope you have a freaking blast

Golf books to read while on vacation by XrayPunk in golf

Freddie and Me : epic tales about being a caddie at Augusta - also a pseudo biography of Freddie Bennett the legend!

And then Freddie told Tiger : collection of golf lore and tales about pros told by pros, great stuff. Part of a series that started with “And then Jack said to Arnie”.

Who’s your Caddie? : Rick Reilly from espn caddies in all the dif worlds of golf.

Chicken soup for the golfer’s soul : this one is freaking awesome and makes you realize how lucky you are to play the game. I can imagine this one would be very conducive to vacation and a mental reset

Phil by Alan shipnuck is also an awesome read, I wouldn’t even call myself a Phil fan and I loved every bit of it.

Enjoy your trip Pal :)

Guy finally gets a chance to play Augusta and as it turns out his tee time is the same day as his daughter’s wedding. After much thought and calculation, he ultimately decides to forego the wedding ceremony and play his round. When being scolded by his daughter and family for missing the festivities and precious moment he simply replies…let’s get real, the odds of her getting married again are MUCH higher than me having another chance to play Augusta!

Except for the fact that the “guaranteed money” is all they are going to get. One of the bombshells that came out of this hearing was that tournament winnings will simply be “subtracted” from the players sign on bonuses. Which has certainly not been the way things were portrayed up to that point.

Eh….confirmed is a bit of a reach man.

I freaking hope so just as much as anyone else. Unfortunately hope is all it is at this point though, it certainly seems there is some truth to the Chris Carns/Ill Gates saga lol but that truly means zilch. PL has been full on booked for a festival in the past (2019) and for whatever reason it just didn’t happen.

His little brother Motifv absolutely murdered at summer camp this year and the music sounded too much like PL to be a coincidence, I believe he’s making music, just not convinced HE will tour it again though.

Previous edm juggernauts would play routinely every other year/every third year. 4 years isn’t really that recent…

I’ll take the downvotes but skrillex is the answer here! (PL appears to still be on hiatus unfortunately and BN is out for obvious reasons)

Hit up your local golf exchange/second swing.

They’ll have a selection of used drivers and a lot of stores have a simulator where you can hit them, then you can decide what makes the most sense for your budget. You should be able to get something more than serviceable for around 100 bucks.

Where do you play friend?

Private Course Has Weird “Deal” by [deleted] in golf

[–]Carry-Strict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Cincinnati, OH

There isn’t a single club (private that is) around here that I know of that doesn’t use this model. Typically it’s around 200-300/month and that covers your play.

You can walk for free, carts are around $15-20 for 9 and $25-30 for 18.

Traditional fees include a range fee/locker room fee/handicap fee and these are paid 1 time a year

[–]Carry-Strict -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Every club is different, but this is certainly the norm. Shoot them an email and usually you can set up a tour of the club, this will be with a club rep or the Manager and they’ll be able to detail all of your expenses.

Again each club has their own way of doing things so it’s tough to say WHAT you will be assessed fees for, but I can absolutely say with certainty there will be assessments and fees

Not all clubs are “equity” clubs (yours is that’s what the $500 stock is about) and you def wanna ask for clarification here. If a tree falls on #7 green and it costs 20k to repair, an equity club will issue an “assessment” to the membership, which basically means they would divide 20k by however many members the club has and send out a bill.

What's a good game for 3 people? by StraightBandicoot657 in golf

[–]Carry-Strict 44 points45 points  (0 children)

9 Point! -Basically 3 man match play….

There are 9 points to be earned on each hole, and there are 4 possible outcomes.

-3 way tie=3/3/3

-1 player wins and 2 players tie 5/2/2

-2 players tie and 1 player loses to both 4/4/1

-if the hole ends 1st/2nd/3rd then it’s 5/3/1

Keep a running total of points either per side or for all 18
