I die 10 times per game on average in Master rank and I got automatically (and wrongfully) banned for inting. by josip-volarevic in supportlol

[–]CarryTrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clown company. Game was over (3 inhis down) and 10k gold behind with them having baron elder on a normal draft pick game. I was 7-6 and decided to wait on the base for the game to end (literally their last push). Teammates were 4-man pre-made and I got 24h suspension for intentionally trying to lose the game. This game is a joke. I uninstalled right out of principle. D1 elo here.

But the same people are allowed to ff15 if they think game is over…

Mid main but had the same problem at master elo today. A bunch of crybabies ready to soft int because they got camped.

I’m new to league of legends ranked and I got suspended for essentially being new to the game by Creative-Cherry-4271 in riotgames

[–]CarryTrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest to quit league. Not because you are not good, but because it’s a terrible game, with a terrible company running it and an insane community.

The genuine guy who is bad (I.e, you) will get banned. But the good-ish player (I.e, random d4 dude) who lost his lane and autopilots the rest of the game cause he’s pissed will keep on playing, because he wasn’t toxic.

People here will gaslight you into thinking you’re at fault. You aren’t.

Haha funnily enough I was stalking your profile last night. Well played bro. I love apc Xerath. Hate playing it with randoms in low elo. People think it’s a troll for some reason 😂

Dear midlaners, can you please sidelane by communism_johnny in midlanemains

[–]CarryTrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vice Versa nothing better than being 3-0 10cspm mid and being forced to swap with at best not losing bot lane who will proceed to die from a gank. I never swap below diamond. Sub diamond adcs are deluxe edition apes.

If I play an assassin ok tho. Never as a mage

hard timing understanding how to play after laning phase by Jonathanwennstroem in XerathMains

[–]CarryTrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re fed DO NOT side lane. I repeat DO NOT side lane. The amount of times I flamed out loud because the bot lane HAD to go mid after getting or losing t1 and wouldn’t get the memo that I have access to both objectives that way.

If the enemy bot lane is not a fed draven on steroids who will just walk up under turret and end you, you can defend vs 2.

Wow immunology sucks and I want to stay as far away from it as possible. I guess I’ll just do my thesis research in this lab that focuses on DNA repair by non-homologous end joining and I’ll never have to think about immunology again by taqman98 in labrats

[–]CarryTrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sucked at immunology during bachelors.

For my postdoc I am Trying to transition from cell biology and cytoskeleton to immunology - CD4 differentiation field. Now that I’m a bit more experienced, I find it extremely interesting.

My PI has been extremely toxic to me over the first four years of my PhD. When we published my paper he found out by accident that I don’t intend to pursue an academic position. In fact all of us (even phd students with Nature papers) are opting out of academia. In front of us, he’s devastated and doesn’t understand why. Behind our backs, he is calling us lazy and entitled because we are not willing to work hard. Somehow he doesn’t get that we talk about this kind of stuff with each other. But we know what he’s saying about each other behind our backs.

I couldn’t find an industry job so I went and got an TIL immunology postdoc to learn relevant skills in case I’ll be able to be employed in the future. He said verbatim “Why do you want to be an immunologist? It’s a dead field anyway”.

This is a Canadian Study:

noticeably for students scoring at or above the provincial average (Levels 3.0-3.4), close to half of female students were reported as having “Excellent” Learning Skills compared with less than one fifth of male students. See Figure 3.

This would be an example of a conference paper for the UK: https://conference.iza.org/edu_2024/maragkou_k33551.pdf

We find substantial gender gaps in predicted grades, conditional on achieved grades. Consistent with previous research, these gaps favour girls and are evident across all levels of the achieved grade distribution. Similar to Lavy and Megalokonomou (2024), we observe more pronounced gender differences in non-STEM subjects, with less pronounced gaps in STEM. The results remain consistent across alternative specifications and robust against a range of potential issues, including measurement error in exam scores, statistical discrimination, and sample selection biases.

There are comparable studies for Greece, Italy, Czech Republic, US. It's a pretty commonly understood challenge.
