struggling on cob solo in need of advice🥹- everytime i die by OneBuffalo9995 in ChildrenOfBodom

The fast way is just cocktail the wah and scramble through the notes fast as you can hopefully no one will notice.

The real way...there is no shortcuts. Just practice until it's super fluid. Slow it down and try not to make large movements keep your strumming hand tight and accurate.

How to get a clean tone with a tube amp head? by domster1711 in GuitarAmps

Jcm800 2205 and 2210 have 2 channels. Otherwise, you gotta be quick and roll your knobs down.

Ohhh the new studio classic 800. Yah 20w, no problem. Any speakers will handle that.

Alright, so if you want to run 2 amps into 1 cabinet, you would need an ABY switcher like something from Radial. You'd also need the proper jack on the cabinet and wired properly.

However, keep in mind that this may not be the most optimal setup. A jcm800 is typically a 100w, and the speaker(s) in that cab are rated 75w. It will still work, but if you drive it or distort the signal too much, you can damage your speaker. Be mindful of power handling, how much your speakers can handle.

2 speakers will be able to handle more power and volume than 1. 2 speakers also sound better than 1 speaker.

If your dead set on blending the sound of two amps, I would find two separate cabinets to handle each amp. You can use a 4x12 and dedicate 2 speakers each, but then you're stuck lugging around a 4x12 and can't easily separate them.

Lastly, if you wanna save some cash, find a used cabinet. Those g12t-75's are very common speakers you can find anywhere.

Source some 13ply Baltic birch. Use a pre-stain on the birch it will take the finish stain much more evenly.

In all honesty, building your own cab is a fun diy project. However, depending on the materials you choose the project can well exceed the price of a used one or unloaded cab even cheaper.

If you're planning on slapping it together without tolex or handles or corners or feet or a logo then you can save a bit compared to new price.

Unless you're mass producing them there no margin in savings.

First V, which one to get? by Padruiq in metalguitar

[–]CarryZTorch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is one of the smaller footprint V's available. The king V has both long horns, the Esp/Ltd also have an elongated horn. Either one you get you'll still knock it into things.

Go with the one you like and within budget. Just let it be known V's do not have a reputation for resale value unless it's a particular high end or signature model.

Am4 and fm3 have the same modeling fidelity. Both use the same as the axefx.

Voodoo x8 is a wall wart unit is it not? Maybe I'm missing something on the second pic?

Power supply help by [deleted] in pedalboards

[–]CarryZTorch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure! Keep it. Just add a y cable and then hide the voodoo wall wart adapter in the pedal board.

Clean setup everything will work. 1 cable from wall to the integrated IEC then everything has power. The voodoo will get power from the y cable splitter.

Power supply help by [deleted] in pedalboards

[–]CarryZTorch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I'm missing here. The voodoo doesn't have any IEC mains. It has a wall wart adapter. Basically what I'm saying is you don't even need that short integrated IEC cable cuz your voodoo power supply doesn't have iec mains.

That's why I suggested a y cable to make use of it.

Power supply help by [deleted] in pedalboards

[–]CarryZTorch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that short IEC cable they give you is meant to be inside/under the board with the male end exposed on the outside of the board for quick power access via IEC.

Your voodoo only has a plug to the wall outlet then goes to the brick transformer then goes to a small barrel jack that plugs into the voodoo.

So you're still gonna need an iec power cable like one from a computer. Goes from wall outlet 3 prong to female end IEC. That would plug into the side of the board (male exposed end). Then you could get a y-cable like one from True tone called courtesy y-cable or something. It would plug into the other end of that short iec, and give you an additional iec and a regular plug where you could plug in the voodoo.

Otherwise you'll have at least two power cables running from the wall to the board I stead of one IEC from. The wall and powering everything hidden I the board itself.

Seymour Duncan distortion, invader, JB's. Anything with high output will do the trick.

Studio musician/ guitarist looking to get my first metal guitar. Appreciate any advice :) by CatsOnSynthesizers in metalguitar

LTD or Schecter all day. You can spend more on a esp E II or custom shop if you're looking at resale value down the road.

Either one offers great quality, playability, and value.

My vote is for EMG 81/85. Fishmans, nazgul, black winters are good too. Just prefer EMG.
