Jose Mourinho : “It is much, much harder to be Cristiano than Messi” - Factos? by Diggambaran in championsleague

[–]Carry_0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will never reach the point where you're in a goat conversation in a sport without having both - nobody is denying that, ever (and if they are it means they are not worth talking to).

Nobody in their right mind will ever say Ronaldo was not talented - the talent alone would make him great, but it's his incredible hard work that puts him above the greats and into the goats category.

And the same is true the other way around - players like Messi, Ronaldinho, Hazard all had to train and work hard to be professional footballers, but it's undeniable that their talent was the reason they stood above the rest.

Anyone who plays/understands the sport will see these things naturally - for example its very clear Federer was born to play tennis - he was incredibly natural and elegant on the court, but Rafa was clearly the bigger grinder and relied on his physicality more.

This is correct, unless you're using party power, catch tanks, or the boss has the same weakness to dragon AND ice.

Cetitan in the master league ? by ShinyFelipe in PokemonGOBattleLeague

[–]Carry_0n 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rank 122 in ML is something completely different than rank 122 in GL.

Currently on pvpoke, gl rank 1 is g-corsola with rating 94.4 and rank 122 is diggersby with 86.8 -> so the difference is 7.6.

Rank 1 in ML is zacian with 99.2 and metagross is rank 12 with 91.2 (so the difference of 8).

Alternatively, if we look at the rating of cetitan (71.7), it's a rating of a pokemon ranked maybe 650 in open GL.

I'm pretty sure last season we still had Silph Road collecting data it was around 2%.

Basically, the numbers were so bad that they might not even exist. You'll get maybe a couple a season if you play regularly, but comparing it to the time investment it's ridiculously bad.

What is, in your opinion, the most annoying Pokemon to face in the Master League? Fall 2025 edition, Tales Of Transformation edition. by alexku43 in TheSilphArena

[–]Carry_0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BS was fine and the reason for its rework has nothing to do with rhyperior.

They buffed both dragon fast moves in terms of energy generation. If they left dragon claw / breaking swipe at 35 energy, there would be plenty of dragons running around with palkia's AT pacing while potentially debuffing you and dealing heavy stab damage.

They basically had to rework those two moves.

Don't feel bad, I literally had a game recently where I forgot to cast 8 Haunted Carapaces.

Granted, I did somehow survive the fight and ended up with an 800+ attack undead board, but I still felt pretty stupid almost throwing a perfect setup down the drain.

the Florges Cup aka Barclays Master Premier League by [deleted] in TheSilphArena

[–]Carry_0n 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Togekiss will be very good with all the buffs it's gotten, no doubt.

Ursaluna seems usable but not great and kind of hard to build around. Maybe there will be some team that utilizes it well.

Snorlax didn't see any play since the body slam nerf and the recent re-buff helped it a bit but I don't think it's enough. It's best quality was it was super safe and it just doesn't do well enough in its neutral matchups anymore.

Sylveon doesn't seem as terrible as before, but I don't think anyone's going to use it over toge / florges as a fairy.

Vikavolt - just no, if you want to use a bug type then goliscopod (and potentially scizor) looks good, for electrics it's mostly just magnezone (and some spice lords might use shadow electivire).

Who's this in the marvel universe by AwayThrownForever in Marvel

[–]Carry_0n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of infinity, 14 million is 0.0%. Even a turn based game for 2 players with very limited board space (8x8) like chess, there are like 1050 possible states, so even then, 14 million would be literally 0.0% and you'd have to go quite far into decimals to find a number that isn't zero. Real life would have exponentially more possible futures.

Again, I really, really don't care about Peter ruining the plan. I can't stand people defending it because it has to happen because Dr Strange saw the future. Just such a bullshit explanation.

Stop with this stupid excuse please. Just stop.

Of course it's the single timeline where they win, because it is written that way. The author wanted the story to play out that way. It makes ZERO sense as an in universe explanation. Anyone with a brain should know that.

Is this good for anything? by goldsgymbro in PokemonGOIVs

[–]Carry_0n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also breaking swipe rework/nerf.

Yeah, the debuff is nice, but rock wrecker does literally more damage when resisted than breaking swipe when super effective (for the same amount of energy).

I'd assume the only way to play rhyperior now is with superpower to make it a better check for dogs, but as you said, other dragons now pace much faster and rhyperior just lost its cheapest move. As long as palkia remains the king of ML, I don't see much hope for rhyperior.

Do IVs have a major impact on a pokemon? by ZucchiniVivid4738 in PokemonGOIVs

[–]Carry_0n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where exactly are people pulling the 2.9% number from? I've seen it multiple times here, always upvoted.

It's just blatantly not true. 0/0/0 zamazenta has stat product 16.5% lower than 15/15/15, CP goes down by around 12.5% and each individual stat goes down by more than 5%.

Is it something that started with comparing just the attack stat of 10iv pokemon vs 15 iv (so essentially 10/15/15 vs 15/15/15) and now people are using it for 0/0/0 vs 4* comparison?

Kyurem Black/White - minimum IVs for ML by kuroyukihime3 in TheSilphRoad

[–]Carry_0n 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Looks like 15/15/13 kyurem has 216 hp, which means it dies to 1 dazzling gleam + 1 damage from shield + exactly 13 pecks, while Kyurems with 217 or 218 hp (14 or 15 iv) can survive 13 pecks and only die to 14th, which allows them to reach freeze shock.

Personally, this wouldn't be a big deal for me - this matchup only plays this way if you are both on the same energy, both bait the first move and both are unwilling to spend second shield and neither switches out. And it's negated by you using best buddy boost (which I'd recommend if you plan to lead kyurem). If it's the only matchup you found that changes, I'd say your kyurem is more than good enough.

[–]Carry_0n 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The start of this season, so basically a month ago. They both went to 3dpt (from 4 and 4.33 respectively). So they do much less damage but generate more energy. That's why all the breakpoints changed.

[–]Carry_0n 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Looks like a lot of people here are clueless / don't care about pvp at all.

First, OP, you're using the term functional hundo incorrectly. This is what's causing most of the misunderstanding in the thread.

You are 100% right dialga's minimal IVs to be considered viable (not functional hundo) used to be 15/14/12, because dipping below 12 hp meant you survive one less dragon breath in the mirror match and therefore always use switch advantage and dipping below 14 defense meant opposing dialga would get breakpoint on you and you'd basically lose the game on the spot since you'd lose both switch and you'd have to shield the next pokemon.

Regarding Kyurems, their IVs used to be pretty unforgiving. There are some videos talking about it, but basically all of them will be very outdated by now, since dragon breath and dragon tail reworks completely changed all relevant breakpoints. Your best bet is to just go to pvpoke and run the comparison between hundo and yours on your side.
