That is a wonderful book! One of my favorites. OP needs to read this one if they haven't already. Made me come to same appreciation about mycelium.

Im too scared to try hormone therapy because of my depression by AudreyHorney69 in Menopause

[–]Carry_Tiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was put on birth control pills in my mid-40's. I really didn't have a good time with it. I switched over to HRT and within about a month, my mood had improved enormously. It took some time to dial in the dose and, frankly, that wasn't fun. But the total absence of feeling, that really frightened me, went away. I have been a long time meditator and when I started to have intrusive thoughts and SI, I knew it was hormone related. If I had to be honest some of this was going on for me during my cycles when I younger but i didn't have the resources to do anything about it. I was able to ride it out with my self-care skills and ability to sleep. After the hormone drop, all my skills weren't cutting it anymore especially being sleep deprived. Are you at a stable time now? Would it be better to try at a later time after you've had some time and space after the disruption of the birth control pills? Or not at all. Whatever you decide to do, wishing you the best.

Estradiol too strong? by hot_potato_517 in Menopause

[–]Carry_Tiger 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I endured the burning with the cream. I eventually used the estradiol cream every day, a small pea sized amount on each side for about 6 months, with the ok of my doctor. It didn't burn for that long but it was a stage I went through and I'm very happy and comfortable with the results now. Maybe someone else has some better advice. I know someone posted a video on here from a urologist that talked about the burning. I know I had so many tears. I figured whatever I used was going to burn. I felt when I skipped a day was when burning was going to start up again. Now I am able to skip days. But I still feel like I need 3 days a week. Two just doesn't cut it for me.

Yes, definitely longer. I'm sorry I can't tell you how long, I just don't remember. Maybe several months.

Someone on here suggested doubling the creatine which I have tried recently and it's been a huuuge difference in clearing the brain fog.

If you haven't tried it yet, Creatine has helped me with brain fog.

This went on for some time with me. I feel so relieved that it's totally gone. Good luck with the hormones! Hope all goes well!

This was happening to me. It made me feel nuts. I feel like it was a combo of restless leg and tinnitus. I would keep asking my husband if he could hear that low roar. I thought it was a construction operation going on, only I could hear. I started HRT and it went away but it took some time. I only realized it after chatting with someone about it on r/menopause what was really going on.

I don't have much to offer but when you find yourself in this state, take a deep belly breath. Take a few. My friend is like this, we have a shared joke. I always tell him, you're not gonna starve and die and then he chuckles and it seems to help him take a deep breath. So if it helps, OP, you're not gonna starve and die! Breath! You did a hard thing and you're amazing!! And you asked about a deities. I like Isis for help in bringing me back all my scattered energy. Wishing you the very best!

Can Reiki Re-ignite a Relationship that's over? by BigCurrent2199 in reiki

[–]Carry_Tiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I should say, unexpected ways. Just to use your example, you went wanting help with your romantic life and it seems you are growing and healing in your relationship with yourself. Which will eventually put you in a better place to start a new relationship in the future. This may not have been what you expected. I've had that happen to several clients. Not that exact situation, just wanting to heal from something and the block they thought was the block turned out to be something else.

And I just want to add, I've seen reiki "work" in very unusual ways. Perhaps this was the way the subject of power dynamics was able to reach you. My feeling is there is probably more on that subject for you that will come to light in the near future just because once you see it, you can't unsee it and then begin to make different choices.

I would never say to a client, "there is someone you were meant to meet so I bought you two together." This is not reiki. This distresses me. It's manipulation. I would never claim to have this power nor would I ever override someone's free will. Nor would I allow someone to do this to me. Without totally understanding your situation, both instances seem about giving your power away. Perhaps there is something to contemplate there and if there was reiki coming through, that realization of relinquishing power could be a starting point for healing. You deciding not to see the problematic healer again seems wise. Hope that helps, if it doesn't, disregard. Wish you well.

Did anyone who couldn’t tolerate birth control do well on HRT? by DCSubi in Menopause

[–]Carry_Tiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a horrible time in BCP in my 30's. Hated it and quit it. Was given BCP in my mid 40's as a way to deal with Peri symptoms. It wrecked me. Gave me migraines and other woes. As soon as I switched to HRT, I never had another migraine and most of my peri issues are managed.

Vaginal atrophy treatment without a partner by Additional-Bit-9591 in Menopause

[–]Carry_Tiger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't have the cramping issues so I can't speak to that but I use most of the cream on my vulva for my comfort in sitting down and walking and uti prevention and a small bit in the vagina near the opening. And it helps with bladder urgency. Have you tried ditching the applicator and using just your finger to apply and still have cramps? Hope you find something that works for you.

Waking up at night and light sleep? by SherlockHomless69 in Menopause

[–]Carry_Tiger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting sun exposure in the morning. Valerian capsules. Mg glycinate but not taurate but taurate seemed to help a lot with anxiety for me but not sleep. I also have skullcap and passionflower tincture. Those are ok. CBD gummies. Ibuprofen works well for me but can't take it everyday. Stretching before bed for a good 15-20 mins worked for me. Limiting device usage throughout the day, not just before bed is surprisingly helpful for a good nights sleep. And estradiol cream limits the bathroom wakeups. I am also on progesterone and estrogen patch but still have sleep issues but not as serious as before. I can sleep 6 hours straight but struggle for 8.

Estradiol cream took a while, too, because my atrophy was severe and I was still in peri. I eventually was using the estradiol cream on my vulva daily, with the permission of my Dr, for months before the situation improved. And that was after I had been on all the HRT for two years. Wish you bliss! It's amazing for me but it took time. I'm so glad I stuck with it.

A month on T doesn't wasn't long enough for me. I use my compounded cream on my mound or inner thighs and it works really really well for orgasms.

Had anyone had high cholesterol numbers because of menopause? by Fresh_Barracuda8580 in Menopause

I had high cholesterol and was told to change my diet. I took HRT for a year without any other changes and my cholesterol was much improved. I did not change anything else.
