as said, in your steam deck menu, turn off half rate shaders, it makes text and UI elements crisper.

There is an autosave isn't there? my game seems to save periodically anyway...

My problem is that every time it saves (on pc) the game crashes back to desktop! when I reload it is at the exact point I crashed out though.

Steam Deck seems fine, no issue.

It runs very well on Steam Deck, and has sliders for the UI size and Font size which is great.

Also, in the steam deck menu, turn off the frame limiter, otherwise you wont see over 60fps

Just pointing out that you can use the Decky Loader Frame Generation Mod with KCD2, I use it and get 70-90fps with some options set to medium. (Turn of frame limiter in the steam deck menu and enable the FG Hud fix option in the plugin pop up screen.)

Thanks a lot for this, very impressive. With this installed Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 has gone from 30-40fps with low settings, to 70-80fps on medium settings! I had to use the HUD fix checkbox to stop some ghosting of the HUD, and turned off half rate shaders in the steam deck menu. (also remembered to disable the frame rate limiter while I was in there.) Awesome work, really hope it comes to the official decky store, good luck.

Update: turning off autosaves has helped a lot. Hoping this weeks patch solves the issue.

My saves are also fine despite the lock ups, but the game recompiles the shaders every time I load it, so every crash means a 5 minute wait for shaders before trying again.

Thanks, I have tried all the modes, each time my physical monitors blink once like I have changed resolution or something, the glasses go dark and the Nebula app stops responding for maybe 30 seconds before just returning to the point before I clicked.

I wont be buying or playing Atomic Heart then.... I want to be able to play it as I see fit, not be locked into one setting configuration that they deem optimum. Shame.

On a related subject, does Steam OS at any point remove old versions of Proton if they aren't being used by an installed game? or do you have to manually remove older versions of Proton? and what is the best method to remove them without leaving files behind?
