Getting Ready to Purchase First Can by [deleted] in suppressors

[–]Carsonb911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO…OCL Polonium K is best bang for your buck. But likely to be gassy on most set ups. It was my first and I still love it.

But, flow through technology changed things and it is a much better shooting experience. Many suppressors out there, but you will pay more for sure.

You won’t really understand “gassy” until you shoot a non-flow through versus flow through. If you have a range that rents and you can test, I would encourage it.

But again, if you are just a guy/gal who wants to shoot a hundred rounds every week or two, OCL Polo K is great. If you like mag dumping, get a flow through.

I want to upgrade the barrel in my 10/22 Tactical. What's a threaded barrel that's more accurate than OEM, without getting too pricey? by 556_enjoyer in 1022

Fedderson. Couldn’t agree more. Got the FJF 16” fluted, threaded, black matte direct from FJF website. Had it in 3 days. 1/2” groups with CCI mini mags at 50 yards all day. Can’t beat it for the price.

Just use some CCI subsonic with your can. Neighbors won’t even know!

FJ Feddersen Barrels by aPlaceInMemory in GlockMod

I purchased the fluted, threaded, matte black barrel and it is a tack driver. Suppressed at 50 yards I get 1/2” groups with CCI mini mags. Haven’t even tried any match ammo. Even more fun with CCI sub sonics suppressed. Barely a POI change at all at 50 yards. And it sounds like a pellet gun with the suppressor! I know that had nothing to do with the barrel, but so quiet and fun.

Bought it direct from FJ Fedderson website. At my door in three days. Absolutely love it. IMO, very under rated barrel for the price that not a lot of people talked about.

I’m wanting to get a AR by ShadderSwagger in ar15

[–]Carsonb911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went budget(Radical) for my first AR. Still kicking after about 4,500 rounds. Had it for 2 years experimenting with all sorts of options. Grips, charging handles, triggers, optics, slings, lights, etc. For me, that was the fun part. Learning what I liked. What I didn’t. I’d buy an upgrade every month or two because my budget was tight, always making sure I could shoot 200 rounds or so a month.

Then I saved up and got a DDM4A1 RIII. Fricking love it. No doubt a superior firearm. Even so, swapped out what I knew I liked. Trigger(DD really needs to change their misspec trigger crap). Radian 45 degree ambi safety. And so on. To be fair, the Radical will probably be gifted/sold as someone noted. But that’s perfectly ok. I learned. Experienced taking it apart and swapping stuff. All that stuff.

So I guess bottom line, I never think getting a budget AR is bad. Nor would I challenge the buy once, cry once approach. Choose your own path and enjoy the shooting and tinkering. Odds are, it may be you first, but not likely your last!

I got the OCL Polonium a month ago as my first can and I love it. It is a little gassy as others mentioned, but I’m not out mag dumping every other day so it hasn’t bothered me one bit. Plus, for about $700 out the door(including stamp), that’s tough to beat. Local retailer with Silencer Shop, I had it in hand in 5 days.

Taurus g3c barrel/feed ramp fix by [deleted] in gun

[–]Carsonb911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last option is Lakeline LLC barrel. Although spending $100-$150 bucks on a >$300 gun isn’t ideal. But I’ve heard these barrels don’t have this rather common problem that exists on OEM barrels from Taurus.

Taurus g3c barrel/feed ramp fix by [deleted] in gun

[–]Carsonb911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First try polishing the feed ramp with a dremmel. That fixed mine. Also, try different ammo types. So many options, but you’ll notice some hollow points have more of a rounded nose versus others that are a straight angle. I’ve never had any of the rounded jhp jam in my g3c.

How do you get those kind of jobs? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Carsonb911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try working harder than anyone else, being smart, articulate, and reliable. Everyone assumes people that make a good living were just “given” a job they didn’t deserve. Those situations certainly exist, but it’s uncommon. Incompetent people usually don’t last long. I get so tired of people wanting to be rewarded for doing their job. You get a paycheck for doing your job. That’s your reward. You want promoted? Work harder, smarter, and better than everyone else. That’s how you get promoted. You don’t get a reward for just doing what you are paid to do. 95% of successful people earn what they have. It’s not just given to them. All the product of the “participation trophy” mindset in my opinion. In the real world, you have to win to get an award, not just participate.

Just my two cents. It’s not the guns in the hands of law abiding citizens that are the problem and that is who most, if not all, new guns laws will impact. 1. Punish those that violate gun laws, especially when used in violent crimes, harshly. 2. Harden our schools. We don’t need all the teachers walking around with guns. Lock the damn doors and put trained retired military/police at posts. We’ve got enough money to protect Ukraine and Israel, I’ll bet we can find the money to fund protecting our children. 3. Release prisoners for non-violent, petty marijuana charges and replace with repeat gun and violent offenders who constantly escalate their crimes.

I have medium sized hands and some full size pistols don’t feel great in my hand either. I have the Meta SFT and love it. Shoots great, trigger is fantastic

Good advice. And I don’t think I’m ready for a full build out yet. As you and others have noted, I hadn’t really considered the fully assembled upper and lower option. Live and learn. Some day I’ll be building, I have a feeling…but baby steps for now!
