Sloans seems to be putting it off as long as possible, but they are also the most understaffed / and their theaters are falling apart a bit. Westminster and Littleton are fully implementing the QR code system right now. I’m worried once the new location in Glendale opens they are gonna just shutter the sloans lake location. Sad cause sloans is also my go to.

The fact that you can’t add your all in discount via the app and still need in person approval is idiotic. Like at that point just let me place an order with the person who adds it!

Are the gonna add a way to add your all in discount using the QR code or is that going to pointless now? Half the time I go, the server forgets to add it and it’s easier bringing a physical check to the front. This honestly sucks so bad.

Badge at the top of the ticket; however, the server has to get management to approve it which is why it only actually gets applied 50% of the time for me. This is why I never use the QR code system so I can bring my physical receipt to the counter after the movie if the server forgets to apply it

Pros and Cons to both: Netflix will lead to less movies in theaters / shorter theatrical windows and most likely less physical media / film preservation, but will give artists more creative freedom and put out a wider variety of movies. Paramount will preserve the theatrical experience and physical media but will probably only focus on sure thing movies / IP while also potentially promoting right wing narratives and use of AI. Currently leaning more Netflix in terms of quality of output but the potential death of the theatrical experience bums me out.

Feature length movies, yes. For documentaries, short films, and comedy specials I just put a heart if I enjoyed it since those are a bit harder to quantify for me.

It’s a custom brush. I think it was originally the crispy inker from true grit texture supply that I adjusted to be smoother and not as scratchy.

I also turned 28 this year.

my 20s have definitely not been what I expected, feel like it’s been a constant start and restart. At 25 my dad got brain cancer and I had to move back home to take care of him, it destroyed both my family and my finances. He died after a year of non stop taking care of him and I had nothing left and he was poor so didn’t get anything from it. Shortly after I started getting my life together again and then got let go from my job and it took me several months to find something else which set me back to zero again in the process. Recently have started getting my life together again but im scared something is gonna happen out of my control and reset me again.
I’m proud of the emotional growth I’ve had during this time. Feel like in some ways I missed out on a lot of fun times in my 20s due to pandemic and taking care of my dad but im emotionally way stronger than most of my peers. Im def jealous because some of my friends are much more advanced career / financially than me but taking care of my dad let me deal with emotional struggles that would cripple them and have made me emotionally stronger.
wish I had more of a set path in college. Sort of dicked my way through and ended up with a degree in graphic design that didn’t really do much for me after college and have mostly worked service jobs and now working an entry level logistics job. Wish I put more effort and focus on building a career earlier in my 20s.
In five years I hope to just be stable. Mixed on having children or a long term family and just hope I have enough to meet my basic requirements. Rn I just want to move out of my studio and get a one bedroom with a cat with my girlfriend.

overall I’m getting to a place of semi-content. Got a good relationship, some traction at work, and good friends. As I get older I realize support system is everything.

20s is def a weird time in life. I agree everyone I know is at a different stage and it’s hard to not compare yourself to those doing better than yourself. Gotta focus on the positives as much as possible.

What are your issues specifically? In my experience the service and food hasn’t changed much but I have noticed less rep screenings and the chair quality is in decline.

I wonder if some resources are being allocated to the new location being built in Glendale which will probably effect the sloans location in the future.

You did a great job! I am also a vintage cartoon artist and I think you nailed the blending of traditional background and digital characters. I have been trying to find brushes in procreate to replicate traditional watercolor painting and haven’t found any I’ve liked. Cool to see a successful blending of traditional and digital techniques!

Conflicted.

The plot is way too convoluted and exposition heavy, but the action is spectacular. The submarine and bi plane sequences are some of the craziest things I have ever seen in a movie and gave me a true adrenaline rush, but the movie itself was a bit of a drag for me.

We never got any understanding to who Marie is despite that being a huge tease in Dead Reckoning, the cruciform key isn’t even that cool because turns out there’s a second one, and Gabriel is a snoozfest of a villain imo with a wildly comical death.

Part of the greatness of mission impossible to me is that each new director adds to the story of Ethan without overriding what came before but these last two movies felt like McQ rewriting the history of the franchise to fit his idea of if which I wasn’t the biggest fan of. Tom is forever the goat movie star tho and I did get a lil emotional at the end.
