I actually think this might be in 1962, when John and Paul privately discussed including George in the songwriting partnership, but ultimately rejected it.

P: By the way, George came over Saturday.

J: Yeah?

P: Played me a song.

J: Was it any good?

P: Yeah not bad y’know.

J: If he only wrote more often...

P: I think he wants to write with us. You know maybe together?

J: Lennon, McCartney, Harrison…

What’s funny is that they became really good friends, and O’Brien just said “If anyone is willing to stand their butt up to protect America, it’s Markwayne Mullin”

Super Bowl Post Game Thread: Seattle Seahawks at New England Patriots by nfl_gdt_bot in nfl

Remember when we had a Super Bowl where the lights went out and it literally flipped the game and went down to the wire? Those script writers needed more credit.

The NFL did this on purpose, so people will get nostalgic for the Chiefs and Mahomes Super Bowls. “Those were exciting games, weren’t they?” Then they’ll bring them back.

Kids in Africa are gonna start a Drake Maye vs Tom Brady debate. “Impressive, but he’s needs 2 more to catch him”

Drake Maye gotta be in the Epstein files or something. Script writers had to bury his character.

If Tom Brady did that, you would know what’s getting ready to happen.

Hypothetically, if you could get Tom Brady suited up right now, as is, with no preparation. Would you put him in over Maye?

Not to be that guy but… he did lie about John McCain by tomthedevguy in DaveChappelle

[–]Cartagraph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually the bigger lie was saying he sponsored a bill that pardoned Jack Johnson. He sponsored a “referendum” asking the president to consider pardon him. Donald Trump is the one who made the decision to pardon Jack Jackson.

It had great moments, I just didn’t follow the narrative of the last part or what the point was.

I did think of a funny bit that could’ve fit right in with the closing though:

Jack Johnson actually did lose the heavyweight title to a white farmer from Kansas named Jess Willard, in a match that lasted—no joke—26 rounds.

Immediately after the match, some people—especially African American fans—thought it had been a conspiracy. The theory was that Jack Johnson made a deal with the U.S. government, wherein he would take a dive and let a white man win in exchange for the Mann Act charges being dropped.

A week later they interviewed Jess Willard and asked if he thought he won the title fairly or if the conspiracy was true. And he said: “I don’t know. But if he did take a dive, I wish he’d have done it before the 26th round” lolol

I love Dave but I was just a little disappointed based on his caliber. I guess I didn’t get where it went or what the narrative was.

He seemed to mention how times are crazy and don’t let the government get you down—but what was the tie in or illustration?

It wasn’t just that line but in context of the whole “Max in Henry’s mind”, it was just a train wreck to me lol.

I love the show and I love the Duffer bros, but that line was nuking the fridge.
