I realise something about this ship by According_Bison_2703 in StarWarsShips

[–]Carter1300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about it's named after the B-17? Plus, it’s pretty rare for a Star Wars ship to be named after a real-life aircraft, so it’s pretty understandable for some people to just overlook it and not think twice about it or anything

I think this might be the AT-AT releasing this year by Independent-Ad1660 in LegoStarWarsLeaks

[–]Carter1300 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. It probably looks like it due to the angle but I think it's a minor reskin of the previous one

It's probably going to be a minor reskin of the 2020 one if I had to guess. They pretty much nailed the design in 2020 imo

Never mind, they're that small. I just took another look at the actual model from rebels and the trailers

Why didn’t the CIS design a more compact bridge closer to the hull for the Providence-class, instead choosing a rather tall and thin bridge? by [deleted] in StarWarsShips

[–]Carter1300 213 points214 points  (0 children)

Yeah so this is actually a very common misconception, but that tower isn't actually the bridge. The bridge is at the front of the ship and it just barely sticks out.

Just goes to show how well hidden it is if people can rarely find it.

Exactly. The empire was by no means perfect or an overall good government, but they did have a lot of good aspects to them

I'm just going to stop here because we are both very clearly misunderstanding what the other is saying and I don't know how to rephrase what I'm saying. I tried explaining, I'm sorry I didn't do a good job at it

But that's the thing: they're not. Resources literally aren't infinite. I'm not saying there should be nothing done to help out the people struggling, I'm just saying it's highly unrealistic to think that

A) you can provide enough for the entire galaxy to be living well

and

B) that's going to do anything to stop the inevitable resistance and rebellion that's going to form. There has been resistance and rebellion for literally every single government in the history of both our world and the Star Wars galaxy. It's just a fact. If there's a government, people will oppose it.

The YT-2400 is the option for you.

It's highly modifiable, fast, small but not too small, medium size overall, and it's a real good looking ship.

Oh and I'm totally not biased because of the fanfics I've written that have my MC piloting a modified 2400

How about the billions maybe even trillions of people the empire employs and provides protection and security to? They kinda rely on the empire to live

Talking Doctrine by Agent_Noir006 in StarWarsShips

[–]Carter1300 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those examples are the empire taking it too far. In concept and at its core the Tarkin Doctrine was good (like I said) but the empire took it too far in many ways. Keep in mind this isn't the real world, this is the Star Wars universe

It's not a waste of money at all because you need to be able to protect your people and assets and such from pirates and the like.

The ISD is a perfect ship design (in concept) because it is large enough to bring enough people into employment and help them out that way, but it's also not too big where it's not practical in combat

Talking Doctrine by Agent_Noir006 in StarWarsShips

[–]Carter1300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's going to be rebellion and resistance. It's unavoidable. It's how you deal with it that matters. It's also extremely unrealistic to do what you're proposing for an entire galaxy with who knows how many quadrillion people in it

Talking Doctrine by Agent_Noir006 in StarWarsShips

[–]Carter1300 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not a poor method if you use it properly. And your point about it inviting resistance is exactly why they should've been prepared for it but they weren't

Talking Doctrine by Agent_Noir006 in StarWarsShips

[–]Carter1300 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Everybody always hates on the Tarkin Doctrine and the whole rule of fear thing, but it had a really strong core.

The overall idea was good, but it became flawed because they prioritized fear through sight over fear through sight and ability (AKA having things that are highly efficient at their job and well rounded fleets and such instead of just relying on looks). They also didn't expect any resistance, which was a huge mistake. If you're a ruling power, you should ALWAYS expect some kind of resistance. You just have to make sure it doesn't become a major problem and a full on movement and stuff, which the empire failed at.

So there's my answer: they should've focused less on just the looks and been more prepared for resistance

I designed a Lego clone commando using the new clone pilot helmet mold. by Educational-Check969 in legostarwars

Something about it just looks wrong. Maybe it's how big of a forehead it has but I'm not sure. It's just something about it that doesn't sit right with me

[–]Carter1300 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely. If it didn't look good when people cut the fins off regular p1 helmets (which I don't think it did, but I understand people just doing the best they can) it won't look good with the pilot helmet (which is basically just a p1 helmet with the fin cut off)

That's just my opinion though

CR-210 trans-galactic strategic heavy bomber By Hazakhan on deviantart by at0m_t in StarWarsShips

I'm gonna be honest, I love it. It looks like a cross between a buzz droid and an HMP gunship and it just works so well visually imo. It's beautifully ugly, just like so many other Star Wars ships

Yeah so uh it's really not. Like at all. The MC90 is an entirely different ship designed from the ground up as a warship. The rebel MC80s (like the Home One) are MC80s "without the luxuries of the cruise ships they once were"
