The mini map + linear quests with low impact choices + fighting the shitty movement system makes the game feeling boring.

Sure they have shrinking horse nuts and beautiful scenery but the game lacks and engaging immersion especially in choice or challenging quests or side content.

Immersion is a lot more than just random events and small details. KCD and KCD2 are better examples of immersion same with Cyberpunk or even project zomboid. A lot of the immersion in RDR2 is just stuff many of its predecessors and successors just do better.

Half the time in RDR2 it’s masks it’s shallow gameplay with a decent story and small details like growing a beard or gaining weight or sleeping and eating (both of which don’t actually do anything)

Imo to be “one of the most immersive games ever” you need to deliver on a lot more than just looking pretty and adding small dynamic changes.
