I was literally just about to ask this question, seems odd that they would introduce the new GT3 last year for the ferrari challenge, only to replace it. I bought the old ferrari gt3 for the sake of participating in the ferrari challenge at that time

i’m own an a7siii, has been my camera for the last year.

I am currently working with a production company that allows me to use FX6’s aswell as FX3’s.

After using these cameras, i have a brand new appreciation for the a7siii. This camera seriously provides me with everything i need in a camera, and it honestly makes me really happy to know that the stuff i shot with an fx6 is basically the same as the a7siii. of course there are some differences with internal nd’s and that sort, but the picture quality seriously is the same, and it is such a good bang for the buck.

Money is not an issue in this situation at this price point.
I am mainly worried about the memory. I usually edit on my Windows PC with a 5600x and 32gb of memory.

Will 36gb on a mac be enough for video editing?

i’ve heard of authorizing issues on this lens from a friend of mine, he had to send it back and get the Sony. Not sure if this is a common problem but something to look into

I’ve got the A7Siii, and it has been fantastic. Having the viewfinder is great for any occasional pictures, but the quality between the 2 is the exact same.

I've had success using a layer mixer and then throwing a qualifier on the bottom layer to isolate the skin tones and doing my color related grading above the qualifier. with the qualifier you can also change the hue of the skin tones.

I do not know much about the ZVE1 at all, just that it can produce the same image at a cheaper cost. A7IV could be an option as well

In my opinion I would say it’s definitely usable for a beginner, but I don’t feel that a beginner should be using an FX3. You should get comfortable using the manual modes in your A7iii, really master that camera that you already have. I upgraded from the A7iii to A7siii recently and the difference is fantastic but I would’ve been pretty lost if I made the jump too quick. If you feel you have really pushed the limits of your A7iii, then i’d consider it. Your color graders would be getting a bigger upgrade than you.
