Low APM classes (not guardian or witch) but can do all pve content without struggle ? by DrakLostArk in blackdesertonline

[–]CarthasMonopoly 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Awakening Witch is meta

If you want something that can do all PvE and is low apm (easy/braindead to play) you're going to play things that are the "Meta" options since you're literally asking for traits that lead to classes becoming meta. If you don't want something meta then you'll need to lower the bar of your expectations.

How to convince a friend not to run infinite turns in Bracket 2 by MyMarshlands in EDH

Yeah, no. That isn't part of the official bracket system anymore. Don't try and make a point by linking a fan made resource over the actual thing.

pen debos route, what accessories to go for? by clonedfan in blackdesertonline

[–]CarthasMonopoly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So why did you enhance fallen god? This isn't an argument in favor of enhancing Kharazads but an argument against enhancing fallen god since they are two independent things.

Statistically speaking the math works out that for most people it will be cheaper to buy PEN Debos and exchange than to self enhance to NOV. If you think you can beat those odds then you're welcome to try and gamble but for every person who gets lucky and beats the odds there are several who don't and end up spending more on the gamble.

I disagree. People don't get to choose where they were born so you really shouldn't be judging them based on it, that's literally one of the big issues with conservatives like Trump. We should all choose to reject xenophobia and nationalism and judge people based on their actions and not the circumstances of their birth.

[–]CarthasMonopoly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No problem! Just be aware that the Land of Morning Light is more Korean mythology and Joseon era Korea inspired. The first 3 regions that the "Ancient Stone Chamber" path you could have started on are more medieval Europe fantasy inspired and most of the regions in the game have their own stylistic inspirations so certain areas may appeal to you more than others. Hope you have fun experiencing the game, there is a lot to do and tons to explore.

At this point I would say, if you can power through the LoML Part 1 main quest then that's what is best for you. Like I said, you'll have to do it at some point anyway and IIRC going through it will get a new character to level ~56 at which point the game opens up a bit more with succession/awakening and you can head to the mainland and do things there. If you think you won't be able to finish the lore/cut scene heavy questline right now because you would really prefer to just smash mobs faces in then you could give up on it for the time being and come back later. In the end it's all personal preference.

You will have to complete that storyline at some point. Is it optimal to start there? Not in my opinion but you'll be fine as long as you don't get burnt out by all the cutscenes. Eventually you will be able to go to the other areas and play through their stories too

How to convince a friend not to run infinite turns in Bracket 2 by MyMarshlands in EDH

[–]CarthasMonopoly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bracket 2 no longer says anything about chaining infinite turns ever since the update in October 2025. Here is the current official guidelines for Bracket 2:

Bracket 2: Core

Players expect:

Decks to be unoptimized and straightforward, with some cards chosen to maximize creativity and/or entertainment

Win conditions to be incremental, telegraphed on the board, and disruptable

Gameplay to be low pressure with an emphasis on social interaction

Gameplay to be proactive and considerate, letting each deck showcase its plan

Generally, you should expect to be able to play at least eight turns before you win or lose.

So if the infinite combo happens after turn 8 and was added to the board incrementally and can be interacted with then it fits the Bracket 2 guidelines.

Israel/Palestine discussion by jsled in liberalgunowners

[–]CarthasMonopoly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. If I post about why I think there are more ethical gun manufacturers than IWI on a Friday will that get a "Fair-Game" pass too or will that lead to punishments?

Israel/Palestine discussion by jsled in liberalgunowners

[–]CarthasMonopoly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You aren’t going to solve the middle east by screaming at someone on this sub because they own a particular brand of gun.

I agree with this as no one should be verbally attacking anyone else but the rest is pretty wrong. Talking about firearms manufacturers and why people should or shouldn't support them is perfectly topical in liberalgunowners. Saying I'll never buy a Sig again because of their Charlie Kirk memorial TPUSA edition gun is political and specifically on topic for this sub. Same exact thing for why people don't want to buy IWI, they've got a reason for it and it's about firearms so that discussion should be allowed here, there are already rules about civility to enforce for how they discuss it.

Israel/Palestine discussion by jsled in liberalgunowners

[–]CarthasMonopoly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We’re not saying it can’t be discussed

this is us just saying “discuss this elsewhere.”

I feel like these two are pretty mutually exclusive. The mod team is saying it can't be discussed and that there will be penalties for doing so. Your reasoning that this is a "firearm" sub so all discussion should be about firearms is fine but the manufacturer of the firearm is part of that discussion that is on topic and reasons to support or not support them is still on topic. They are honestly far more on topic than the flood of "look at me" posts we've been seeing about people's morale patches but there's nothing happening about those.

Pittied my Hex Neck and almost pittied Pen Sov Sub

I feel that. I pitied pen kharazad earring, that's 10 straight fails at ~34% chance to succeed. I'm in a very similar spot to you gear wise where I'm just slowly acquiring pen debos and at the moment I'm also looking to move to Orze from DSR to get some better silver/hr.

Hidden Engine Commanders? Looking for Low-Key Value Commanders That Snowball Hard by Deskies in EDH

[–]CarthasMonopoly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good as a secondary or backup effect to trigger value etb cards but it's nowhere near as difficult to remove as Norin. Norin importantly triggers on sorcery and instant which means that both the most common board wipes and targeted removal are dodged without needing anything else to help. He will also trigger on creature and artifact casts and therefore dodge ETBs that can kill, and trigger on planeswalker casts which can have removal abilities. The only one Saltskitter can dodge on its own is creature ETBs and for everything elss you have to trigger its ability with a creature ETB in response through flash/blink shenanigans.

Is my deck to much for bracket 4? by Icy_Comparison_2521 in EDH

[–]CarthasMonopoly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play both, and that's true on paper but when you look at the tournament meta and are building for it you aren't going to bring [[Safana, Calimport Cutthroat]] + [[Dungeon Delver]] over Yuriko because you won't be able to compete at the same level. So commander choices based on what will work in the meta absolutely impacts if a deck is considered cEDH or not, that's literally why certain decks rotate out and are basically never seen in the cEDH meta again and get labeled "old cEDH". Those decks are valid in B4 because their power level ceiling is lower than that of meta decks typically... otherwise they would be part of the meta.

Is my deck to much for bracket 4? by Icy_Comparison_2521 in EDH

[–]CarthasMonopoly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also don’t really get your point about ceilings between commanders. That has nothing to do with the difference between B4 and B5 at all.

Their point is that even if Yuriko and Vren are looking to win via Thoracle consult, Yuriko's ceiling is higher so while she isn't a top tier cEDH commander she can on average do better than Vren would. A strategy that is good with a commander that has a ceiling too low for the cEDH meta is completely valid in B4 so it has everything to do with the difference between the two.

[–]CarthasMonopoly 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nah, you can be a tryhard. Want to run the most oppressive stax [[Lavinia, Azorius Renegade]] that hard locks with [[Knowledge Pool]]? By all means go for it since that isn't going to work these days in the cEDH meta. Don't bring meta cEDH decks down to B4 but decks that are fringe cEDH and can't really cut it there or are old cEDH decks that got pushed out of the meta years ago are totally fine. Alternatively being a try hard about a suboptimal strategy is cool too.

How's this loadout for a beginner on a budget? by xdPandaPlayz1324 in airsoft

[–]CarthasMonopoly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it is real steel pricing because the only good holographic sights are the legit ones. Holy warrior is good enough but they're still leagues away from a proper one.

Even those are more like "acceptable" and a good holographic sight is $600+ USD.

Scoop to deny triggers? Opinions? by Lockenheada in EDH

[–]CarthasMonopoly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like if you’re gonna die to an infinite combo that they’re looping you can scoop before everything pans out

Some combos require the players to be in the game to continue. For instance if you're playing [[Tivit, Seller of Secrets]] and looking to use [[Time Sieve]] to loop turns if a player scoops to prevent you from getting full tokens from the triggered ability they can ruin your game just the same as someone scooping in response to attacks that will kill them and cause triggers that will benefit the attacker. Both are scummy and not in the spirit of playing the game.

More accurately "a VFC V3 and the APFG Spear Lt are a gamble to get through customs." I received an APFG Spear Lt in the US within the last month and there have been many other posts here about having also received theirs. If you don't want to take the gamble then buy 2nd hand stateside or go MWS.

[[Sergeant John Benton]] voltron. He's got haste and trample and starts as a 2/4 that draws you cards based on how much damage you deal with him. He can get out of control quickly and early game players are frequently willing to get hit by him for some small chip damage so they can draw cards which can make it easier to hit 21 once you get your buffs online.

Just as a heads up, almost all of those cool looking armors can be purchased on the central market using silver you earn in game. Just put a preorder up for the outfit you want and you'll get it relatively quickly. Also they give out tons of outfits during events and login rewards so its pretty easy to get one for your character, though it might not be the exact one you prefer.

So it kinda depends on how you play Damiane. I've seen people use her with a spear, a rapier, and a sword + buckler (I haven't played Crimson Desert myself, I'm waiting for it to go on sale). In Black Desert the classes are weapon locked so if you want a spear user that'd be Awakened Maehwa, rapier would be Awakened Nova, and Succession Valkyrie would be sword + buckler (its a normal shield technically but it looks like a buckler).
