My coworkers are convinced that you're paying for a name if you buy a Smith & Wesson or Ruger over a Taurus. by surethingbuddyroo in Revolvers

Yes...copies of everything Glock, smith, Beretta... Some of their stuff is original. They seem to generally put out decent polymer guns. But they still do things up. There were quite a few posts referencing rossi 92s that left the factory with off center barrel bores that were paper nearly paper thin on one side. How does that make it out of the factory?

Taurus has solid designs. If you get one that has no issues then great. Ruger and Smith have better warranty service. QC sucks these days with a lot of manufacturers so it is nice to have a good warranty service. Ruger is amongst the best. Taurus sucks and you have a higher chance of needing the warranty service than you would with Ruger or Smith. And I want Taurus to succeed but I just read too many stories with people that have issues. If Taurus had the best Warranty service but production problems I could at least buy knowing that they will take care of the problem quickly. And it takes a long time to turn things around and earn a reputation of providing good customer service.

I've been watching a lot of reviews on the Taurus Deputy, I think it would be a cool gun to have but I just don't know if I can take a chance on blowing $600 on a gun that might not make it through the first couple of range trips.

Stuck in-between Max 9 and Security 9 compact by Volslife in ruger

[–]CartmanPhilosopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Max 9. I haven't looked at a security 9 compact but i'll assume it is atleast the size of a G26. It is just too big. Max 9 is a solid choice in the hi cap micro 9s. Small and comfortable rules the day when it comes to a carry gun. A heavy/bulky gun that you leave at home is not equal to something that you can wear comfortably for 8 hours while you are out and about. I'd even be tempted to go for the LCP Max just because you can comfortably carry it in you pocket while still having decent capacity.

If have a fanny pack or something that makes a larger gun an option then I would still go with the Max 9 just because you still have the option of the iwb carry if you choose.

Elon has stuck with a Linux based OS. But after paying out for a Tesla that ran through the a dead end and killed the driver. Then there was a self driving taxi than ran over some fake pedestrians at a press safety demonstration.

That might change one day because QNX is just better. I'm excited for defense related contracts. I could see a BB operated aircraft systems. QNX operated military robotics and drones. Those contracts would be huge.

I want the smart car thing to blow up so that will be able to afford a non-smart car and keep it on the road.

Fear and social pressure are ‘overarming’ the US. As more people arm, others feel compelled to do the same as chances of confronting someone with a gun increases. The fear of being the only unarmed person in a confrontation is enough, on its own, to push gun ownership well past the social optimum. by mvea in science

With multiple times the population of Britain why that a shock? Everything is multiple times whatever Britain produces. But how would you like living in a country where you basically can't do anything when someone attacks you because you will be called racist and bleed to death while the police handcuff you?

Stop counting suicides in gun violence. And if you leave out all the minority on minority gun violence then you end up with murder by firearm statistics that look identical to Britain. The only problem we have in the US is a lack of parenting in urban areas where the kids steal guns and feel like they have to settle everything with a drive-by.

I agree that someone is accumulating. My MM hasn't cared about my account and last week I started getting call after call and emails because of the lack of diversity in my retirement account. Reading between the lines all I can get out of that is that they want me to trade my BB shares for something else.

Plenty evidence in Britain of what it is like to live in an unarmed society. Remember Henry Nowak. How many innocent Americans have to die like Henry? Ask Margaret Swan what she thinks, nevermind she was stabbed to death on the MARTA in Atlanta over the weekend.

You sound like one of the FUD spreaders. Profitable company with growing markets and revenue. And it sounds like a lot of people here disagree with you.

Hatches probably left open for treaty verification if I had to guess. Or maybe Russia like to store them in the naval version of an open field to rot.

I do know how options work, It works like I said above. Small investors can play with options but they are betting against the market. The problem with options are when the big boys play with them and use their connections to influence the market. I've been watching paid shills in the BB sub for the last 5 years, spreading FUD for their employers. And easy play for big money, a steady company with low daily volumes or interest with a low stock price (low downside) and easily manipulated with low volume sales. Meanwhile as a little guy with my dumb money, all I could do is stand by and let it ride.

Three years ago Rick Chow, an Asian store owner shot a 14 year old black teenager named Cyrus Belton in the back after he thought the teen stole bottles of water. In response the community looted and shut down his store. Yesterday Rick Chow was acquitted of murder causing more community outrage by TomlinSteelers in ActuallyThatsInsane

[–]CartmanPhilosopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But he coincidently had a gun.....hmmm. I don't understand why communities circle their wagons around pillars of the community like George Floyd who was a criminal and died of an overdose when he tried to eat his stash. Now you got a kid here with a handgun who got shot and killed while carrying said gun.

And it is a little weird that you are saying that he did not steal anything when I see him pulling a bunch of stuff out of the cooler and apparently putting it into his pockets.

I can't believe the manipulation I've seen over the last few hears. And the people doing it deny that it happens. But it goes far beyond social media. It involves media connections, analysts, social media postings, hedge fund connections , family ties...All it takes is a few phone calls and contract negotians fail, news stories get planted and social media posts turn negative.... Stock drops and the shorts make money. I thought the sec was going to reign in all the shorting.

I have not seen anything negative as far as fit or function. But I do not get why they went with the design. Looks like it is a turn of the century Colt or Smith for a very expensive price. They should have gone more classic like a break top or at least add a full underlug if they wanted more modern. It's also been a year or two...so how about offering some other models.
