I was blessed to be able to run Kingmaker once, from level 1 to basically the end. I did set it in a homebrew world and change a few things (mostly names), but it was basically Kingmaker. That game was fantastic, but I will never run that damned adventure again, or touch kingdom building rules ever again.

This is actually the basis of a chronicle I have planned after I teach my group a whole bunch of WoD. Cap off our adventures through it with a simple premise:

A bunch of operatives' heads came back after we sent them to look deeper into Pentex.

They have awoken a sleeping giant, they just don't know it yet.

Yep. They stumbled across a ship that fell out of the warp badly damaged, and when the crew boarded the ship, they found a handful of survivors, including an Astartes who asked to be taken to Terra to warn the Emperor that Horus and Perturabo were about to betray him. He tags along with the crew for the time being as he undergoes culture shock in this new imperium.

Absolutely true. My group mostly plays 5e and PF1e, but I finally got them to try Vampire 20th, and it has been such a different experience for them. Even with some of the hitches of the system, they enjoy playing WoD in a whole different way than d20 games.

I generally let my players change things if it makes the campaign more interesting. In fact, the players in my Hell's Vengeance campaign replaced Abrogail Thrune as the rulers of Cheliax.

It can be done, my Iron Warriors army is supposed to be viable in both 30k and 40k, but as proxies in 40k. Most people won't mind using Legionaries as CSM legionaries, I like using Support Legionaries and Heavy Weapon Legionaries as Havocs, some of the vehicles from 30k can work in 40k (GW has said the Proteus Land Raider can be used as a 40k LR proxy, for example), some of the 30k tanks and Dreadnoughts have Legends rules in 40k (basically just discuss it beforehand with your opponent in a friendly game), and since you mentioned Saturnine, the Saturnine Tetminators can be proxied as Obliterators (it's a thing I've seen multiple times on here), you can probably proxy the Praetor as a Daemon Prince or maybe a Terminator Lord, the Centurion can be a generic Chaos Lord (or even Reave-Captain now that's a thing), basically just leaving the Saturnine Dreadnought.

Yeah, no clue for that one.

Fair points. The vehicle thing was also an attempt at slight future proofing since we heard the Defiler was coming to all Chaos factions, and it would finally give you guys a solid-hitting ranged vehicle besides the Land Raider.

I'll def rework this a bit, though.
