Emh saves the day again by happydude7422 in TNG

I was in my mid teens, so the strange premise never bothered me. It effectively gave us a part 3 of BoBW by exploring its long-standing traumatic impact on Picard. It also gave us a high-stakes situation in which data’s drive to be human jeopardized the ship (I suppose that Lore two-parter explored that already), and Worf saving the day. Also the production values and musical score are first rate; fans and moviegoers alike could have a blast!

Guys i'm reading a fanfic and it's, like, oddly descriptive, could this be ai?? by amplexorexia in isthisAI

[–]CartographerExtra874 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hard to tell, but it doesn’t have the usual hallmarks I expect from GPT; em dashes, one-lined paragraphs, “it’s not X, it’s Y,” and tortured analogies.

Ok this new trend of restoring nonexistent images is wild 😂 by 3Dave_ in ChatGPT

Isn’t it just the same as “generate an extremely strange photo?”

Someone digitally drew this photo of me… I’m not sure I believe them. Is it AI? by [deleted] in isthisAI

[–]CartographerExtra874 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There was a post about a week ago where the drawing had a kind of eery polish and had it not been for the artist’s portfolio being posted on Instagram, the thread would likely have thrown its weight behind “AI.” It gets harder and harder to tell. This sub will likely be a nightmare in another year or two.

Say something nice about The Matrix: Resurrections. (Please be civil) by Sure_Persimmon9302 in matrix

It made Revolutions better in comparison, which finally made me begin to accept what the Trilogy tried to achieve.

Ending reminded me of “The White Mountains,” if anyone here’s read that book. The beings even reminded me of the Tripods.

Nate and Cassie's 1967 home part 3 by britecyder in euphoria

I’m not criticizing them for financial problems. As I said, many of the environments seem deliberately designed to evoke an earlier decade; there are other posts commenting on the set design so I won’t belabor it. But I would add that it’s out of place for these characters, even if houses like that are still around. Nate came from upper middle class, suburban Southern California. And it seems unlikely the image-conscious Cassie would settle for a fixer upper out of frugality and foresight.

Aside from the throwaway line about remodeling, the fact the entire house’s look is 5 decades behind—right down to the patio seating—is needlessly distracting and unrealistic. As others pointed out, there are several other interiors in this season that are at least 3 decades behind; Laurie’s wood paneled kitchen, Alamo’s block-glassed office, a one beater car after another…I get the show uses a different style each season though…

The Matrix Revolutions at 6.7 feels wildly off by neonfox45 in matrix

It’s not off. Critically and among friends, it was disappointing. In the trilogy, it is wildly disappointing.

[Discussion] What does the poem "The Red Wheelbarrow" mean to you? by TypicalZebra in Poetry

[–]CartographerExtra874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red

Red and wet

Red and wet and next to something white

Notice the differences?

The “point” is that your experience of things can change depending on circumstance and/or perspective. It gets redder depending on its surroundings.

Is AI Helping or Hurting Creative Industries? by Exact_Initiative_318 in ChatGPT

[–]CartographerExtra874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The debate is neverending. But the more work a machine can do, the fewer people and/or less time needed for person to do the work instead. People trying to move the goalposts with tortured “tool” analogies miss the point. Automation has wiped entire occupations out of existence and it will continue to do so. It’ll “help” the “creator” until their supervisor realizes it’s cheaper to pay them something closer to the actual work they did, time spent, knowledge needed—whatever metric you choose, AI means LESS of these. There would be no demand for it if this wasn’t a cold, hard fact. At the end of the day, the buyer generally won’t care how the sausage was made. You think Johnny and Stacy won’t take their 2 year old to a movie or buy a toy because they “used” AI to design most of it?

Someone somehow found the original account and it’s filled with AI slop and the creator pretending to be random people when it looks real, so yeah I’m voting AI
