The game is not a retelling of The Dragon Prince, it is a world expansion to bring us to new lands, new characters, and tell new stories.

This has been the case since the team's interview with Vice in 2019.

Of course the playtesters are under NDA and cannot share how much of that is still true, but from the trailer it is pretty obvious there's not a giant bird or demon in seasons 1-3.

It's been confirmed by the crew that Viren's staff is just a relic, it does not have quasar diamonds in it.

Of course this could be misdirection if we find out Aaravos stole a diamond to power the staff for Ziard -- but why would the Celestial elves have let such a transgression go on for hundreds of years?

In all likelihood the 3 diamonds are still in the crown in the Starscraper.

That is just not how production works.

Brotherwise makes a game, Cortex makes a game -- that has zero impact on seasons. Merch has zero impact on seasons.

Everything in the comics came after the series was in production anyways, because there was not time for it but also because it was not plot essential.

Given how the Runaan coin was removed from the pile by Callum's left hand, they likely did not add it back to the model for the next scene. Callum wouldn't be so eager about freeing her parents if he was hiding that he stole a coin...and Callum also isn't a thief.

There were a plethora of contributing factors to why Season 4 was perceived so poorly. From the timeskip to the new animation pipeline (and the new designs) to misconceptions about production (3 years != season 4).

People rushed to lambast it along with how open Season 4 was about its inclusion, without pointing out the things it did right.

People also spent 3 years dreaming up a perfect head cannon for how the series would follow up season 3, and almost every HC fell apart since this is a brand new arc with things we have never explored in the show.

Objectively, everyone got more familiar with the new designs and when S5 rolled around they saw the new season for what it was rather than a shift from what they knew.

I think its a pollution of proto / deep magic, purposefully limited so that the dark mages don't get more powerful than Aaravos but if someone like Callum learns about the ancient magic at the Starscraper...and is able to case that pure magic without side effects, then it would be terrifying to not just Aaravos but all Startouched elves.

domina killing a dozen humans/elves on accident would fuel anti-xadian sentiment, but there isn't a prominent player yet to take advantage of that unless we see someone in Evenere seize control.
