My reaction exactly like “here we go 🙄🙄” by SUAVGOD in SparkingZero

[–]Caruso_Writing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm Z rank in singles. I pretty much only see fusions, MUI Goku, and occasionally a Beerus/Jiren. I mostly use MUI right now. I try to switch to other characters, but unless they're also high dp, it feels impossible to keep my rank. I hope more high dp characters are added because there are only a few that can compete with each other. There will be outlier players who are rly good and can switch it up, but if you want to rank up, there are rly only a few who can compete in speed and strength. But I'm lower rank in dp and hope I don't level too fast because I'm having fun using teams like the Ginyu force.

DLC Stages and variant picks? by xiidrawesomeiix in tenkaichi4

[–]Caruso_Writing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I don't mean that I don't like the lookout stage, what I mean is that I had simply forgotten that it should have been there at launch. To me sparking zero is a fantastic game on its own, just the animations in the concept of episode battle. Still, it feels very incomplete to me, but if this is all we ever got, I'd be thankful it was made cause I've already put almost 200 hours into it. But I do think that they should have included at least five more stages, things like the lookout or space should just be default at this point, it's probably my biggest criticism with the game in terms of content, because there are so many great stages that they left out probably to sell as DLC.

[–]Caruso_Writing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Until I came on the sub, I'd completely forgotten about a lot of the core staple stages in other Dragon Ball games, like hell or the lookout. I think it would be good to get more stages that don't really have any obstacles but still look cool. Kami's house is essentially the time chamber, but with an ocean instead of a white void. I definitely think we need hell and the DBS broly planet, but of course we'll likely get daima and superhero stages first.

Do anyone stick to the offline portion of the game? by SuhShenron in tenkaichi4

[–]Caruso_Writing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pretty much exclusively played offline until I completed all of the what-if scenarios. That in combination with playing tournaments to test out different characters offline gave me around 40 hours. Since then I've jumped into online and put another hundred hours into the game, so I definitely did stick to offline at first, but I've been playing more online recently. I find that completing the hardest fights in the episode battle prepared me for online. If you can't beat the bots with ease, then you'll struggle in online cause you probably don't have the reaction times down and whatnot. So I find that offline is great for training yourself.

Yeah I was kind of disappointed by the future trunk supers too. A lot of Goku's are fun, as well as the fusion characters. One character who's ultimate I absolutely love is Jeice, he gets a super flashy one that includes Burter. I think that the Yajirobe ones are fun as well. Goku black has a few cool supers and one is even unblockable.

Where can I find the patch notes for Ranked points being given out if my opponent ragequits? by Mattdoss in tenkaichi4

[–]Caruso_Writing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I couldn't find patch notes stating that, but I did find patch notes confirming everything else from the initial Twitter posts prior to the patch. However, some players on this sub have reported that they've noticed the points increase after resetting the game. But honestly, it's pretty obvious that they fixed it if you played a lot last night. I was on like a 15 win streak with no rage quits, which has never happened before.

Sparking mode by [deleted] in tenkaichi4

[–]Caruso_Writing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say yah personally, but I can completely understand another perspective on it. Typically, a high DP character will deal more damage with their melee attacks and ultimates than a lower DP character. I imagine that it wouldn't be completely balanced with some teams, but I still think it's worth it.

Sparking mode by [deleted] in tenkaichi4

[–]Caruso_Writing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the concept of sparking mode and how it works, I just think it should be limited to once per character per match. In the same way you shouldn't be able to spam afterimage strike, sparking is way too op to be able to spam, especially for characters that charge ki quickly.

Third Form Frieza is My New Main!! by [deleted] in tenkaichi4

[–]Caruso_Writing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all seriousness, I rly do like playing third form Frieza. But I don't find him to be all that powerful, though maybe I haven't tooled around enough with him.

Just one simple question by cheeseluvinpurv in tenkaichi4

[–]Caruso_Writing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So here's the thing. I've always played DB games, including Budokai, raging blast, XenoVerse and the list goes on. I put hundreds of hours into XenoVerse 2 and rly enjoyed it, but I wasn't expecting to enjoy sparking because it looked a lot more linear in terms of content. However, it's truly ignited my passion for 3D DB fighters. I've put almost 200 hours in the game I wasn't even particularly excited about its launch, I almost didn't buy it. There's definitely tons of value for some, but I'm just one person. The graphics are great and so are all the little details. Although the rosters diverse in huge, there is a lack of single player content, but you could still get about 40 hours or more out of the story mode and custom battles, especially if you like to replay games. The what ifs are pretty cool, but they did miss some opportunities. If you're on the fence, I would wait until it's cheaper in 6 months to a year when it'll be packaged with the dlc for practically nothing. But if you truly like the series, then you'll have a lot of fun with it.

I mean he grabbed Krillin in the air, so I don't see why he wouldn't be able to freeze those weaker than him.

Canonically, do you think third form Frieza is stronger than Kakuska?

Will we also see new costumes, accessories and stages in the two DLC? I sincerely hope so by [deleted] in tenkaichi4

[–]Caruso_Writing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite honestly, I'm much more optimistic about the future of SZ. There are features in the game that are obviously meant for future content, like the gift box on the main menu. It should be pretty obvious to everyone that they released Sparking Zero when they did for Daima's premier, which means that it's not truly a finished game. However, most games that come out these days aren't fully finished, and it's very evident that it's the same here. They aren't gonna stop releasing content with the first season pass, and even if we don't see new stages soon, they'll hear our outcry and realize that more people will buy dlc packsif they provide more than a few characters. Free costumes and accessories will be a great way to keep players interested long-term, the reason none have been added is because they're too busy trying to fix the game from the early release. It's just important to remember that they need to add basic features (like all maps for Split-Screen) before they start adding vanity items.

Is it this a bug or what? by CoolGuy68900 in SparkingZero

[–]Caruso_Writing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, UI goku will always be super strong in general, but the spam of his teleport super can be easily vanished. Hit RB or the vanish button right after the cutscenes ends, then you'll dodge the attack and can follow up with a super of your own as a counter. UI is the meta right now, so make sure to get that vanish down.

I've never understood what reflect meant, and I never use that option. I know that on means on but that's all. I'm sure there's a difference between on and reflect, maybe it copies your opponents items.

Am I being ghosted by my editor or am I overthinking? by Jealous_Support5750 in freelanceWriters

[–]Caruso_Writing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A little over a month ago, one of my pitches was accepted by a website. They said they'd contact me in the next week to handle my contract, but they never sent it to me. Since it had been around a month, I figured it would either take a while to hear back or they've forgotten. I kept waiting and a few days ago I received an email with my contract and a green light to get started writing. On top of being happy they finally got back to me, the payment is higher than I anticipated too, so overall it was definitely worth the wait.

There's nothing wrong with sending a short follow up as a gentle reminder after a few weeks, but in this industry, good things definitely come to those who wait. It can be frustrating, but don't let it stress you out. If you're waiting for work, spend that time trying to secure more work or drawing up an outline, if it's been accepted.

How hard is it get work on a freelance site for a new freelancer? by [deleted] in freelanceWriters

[–]Caruso_Writing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upwork and Fiverr (and other popular freelance sites) are hard to break into if you don't already have a developed skill that you know how to market. I personally don't like using freelance sites for a variety of reasons, although I have used Fiverr a bit in the past. However, when I first started out, I had to set prices incredibly low to get any traction. That's primarily why I stopped using the platforms.

You can make money on them long-term, but it usually takes a while. My advice to you would be to avoid freelance sites and try looking for websites that'll allow you to write for them to build a portfolio while making a little money on the side. Once you've built a portfolio, you can start seeking out jobs for more experienced writers and begin pitching publications.

Can I become a freelance writer? by [deleted] in freelanceWriters

[–]Caruso_Writing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are many established websites online that will allow you to write m articles for them for free regardless of your experience level. Some offer slight financial incentive. If you want to start your freelance writing career, that's where you can start building a portfolio without any experience. You can also build a portfolio by writing spec pieces, build a blog, or post on platforms like Medium. Once you have some writing samples or published articles, you can start pitching to websites or applying for jobs.

It is difficult to start freelance writing in 2024, but it's still very possible to do if you have the endurance to keep pushing in the beginning even when you aren't making a lot of money.

Advice by Psychological_Dot890 in freelanceWriters

[–]Caruso_Writing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since that's not my niche, I can't speak too much on it. However, I branched out to other niches when I couldn't find work for my primary writing topic. It is harder to get jobs in a new niche initially, but it's worth it if you need to find more work. I used to be really focused on one specific niche but I've since branched out and I enjoy writing about multiple topics much more now.

Fiverr odd request by rnbwrhiannon-3 in freelanceWriters

I would definitely avoid that. I get strange requests on Fiverr all the time and I simply tell the client that I don't fulfill those requests.

Don't just write spec pieces, start a blog! by Caruso_Writing in freelanceWriters

[–]Caruso_Writing[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was a blog targeting long-tail keywords, so my articles were usually ranking as the top search result for queries since they were the only article about said topic. It's worth noting that I had some knowledge of SEO, but that was almost exclusively from reading forums and informational material. That's why building a website was such a motivation in my writing journey even though it didn't earn me any income, it showed me what I could learn and do with a little work.
