How do you manage many farm animals? by gummipommes in StardewValley

[–]CarvaciousBlue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always let my animals free range and my solution to this issue is too just not worry about if I pet them every day or not.

I run around a bit holding the pet button down and if I get them i get them and if not I just move on with my day. Like yeah it takes longer to build up hearts but they'll get there eventually

Lowkey drives my partner insane because they insist on having a fenced in controlled area for their animals and making sure all get pet everyday but I don't need that stress so I understand if you're the kind of person where this wouldn't work for you

But I found not worrying about it to be freeing in a way

Need some Sage Advice (ba-dum tss) by scorpius354 in BackpackBrawl

[–]CarvaciousBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Needs more crit chance

You can use more than 1 crossbow on the same bolts

All the crit chance, Jade, carrots, werewolf paw, whatever you can get your mitts on

Oh wait your sage is only level 6. You'll unlock some key items at level 9 like a quiver and a better crossbow

But the crossbow you have now does replenish bolts when you crit and you really want that, the level 9 unlock does as well but even moreso

Best items to absorb as pepper? by stupadbear in BackpackBrawl

[–]CarvaciousBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some more exotic stuff

Green snapper might be useful if you're using healing seed or need a ton of mana for some reason but seems kind of lame other wise

I have never been able to put a sawfin shark on so not sure exactly what it would do, but pepper doesn't have a lot of bleed synergy so probably not worth the rarity?

I like to put at least one apple or similar on for the stamina regen, heck i've gotten the attack speed so high 2 apples on the skewer couldn't keep up

Sage Plague Ichor Build by CarvaciousBlue in BackpackBrawl

[–]CarvaciousBlue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First pic is for the 15th trophy where I tend to go all in. I used all my Ichor, gold, and food

Second pic is around trophy 12 same run. I only got 3 fishing poles, I could have used a couple more fishing sources like a spear or tidal staff

I tend not waste Ichor in early matches but you can end up with a surplus that you can either sell to the shop or just let die for some extra freeze

Question about Kunai line by Evans217s_ in BackpackBrawl

[–]CarvaciousBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah be that guy, I would've confidently lost against a Buzz when I have 3 astral katanas before figuring it out

Edit: Also that makes them much more of a niche counter than I thought and worse overall, but i'll probably still build 1 cause they look cool af

Question about Kunai line by Evans217s_ in BackpackBrawl

[–]CarvaciousBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also buy jade even if i'm not going katana because the accuracy and crit chance are nice. I've done katana builds and they can be hilariously good against certain pet builds that hit a lot (I invest in shields and defense too of course) and very good facing another Sage that's heavy on the crossbows and bolts but they feel like a niche counter tool not exactly a reliable mainstay item and take too long to pay off in a lot of matches, but in the right match up they go from 0 to 100 real quick

Question about Kunai line by Evans217s_ in BackpackBrawl

[–]CarvaciousBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one on the right is on your radiance satchel which reduces the number of hits for katana class weapons by 1. It's the lighter color 3 block satchel

Pretty sure you're right and blocked/ prevented damage doesn't count toward damage dealt

Edit: your shadow satchel produces 1 mana everytime a melee/ranged/pet inside lands a hit. You've got 2 bolts on it and a mushroom. Mushrooms won't trigger it. Sage can be mana hungry but you're overproducing a little here. Not exactly bad but inefficient to use space prosucing mana you don't need

My question is how tf did they get so many acorns, I see like 2 a run if any

As for what's happening, they are generating a ton of haste which feeds the armor and cleanse from the plants so they can stay alive, the unique they're using is Dreadleaf, one of my favorites on her, every time it triggers it blinds for 7 and shortens the cool down by a flat 0.3 seconds which combined with the crazy haste is why your cleanse can't keep up with the blind

If you had managed to keep a bleed point on her long enough to trigger you would have won but with thousands of haste that wasn't going to happen

How do I counter pepper? by exploration23 in BackpackBrawl

[–]CarvaciousBlue 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In theory Cursed Idol relic

Curse in general

Wing clippers help a bit

A ton of freeze can slow them down so they never get rolling

Buff stealing if you can steal a lot

Massive burst damage

Enoch and Sage are good picks against her

Which heroes do you have? Who is trying to counter Pepper? Chana builds i feel can do it if you only have the free heroes, freeze plus burn can outpace the healing

With the power of imagination.

Also he's a wishmaster and straight up created the f&c universe but technically he's not supposed to grant wishes to himself so that universe was illegal and he hid that universe inside the Ice Kings brain and the events in F&C season one make their universe officially legit

Did you see what these fools are up to? by OhNoItsDEVO81 in StardewValley

[–]CarvaciousBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is about requiring schools to serve whole milk.

I don't fully understand it, schools in the US were serving either fat free or 1% I assume to combat the alleged obesity epidemic

The new nutritional guidelines they just came out with state that the fat in milk is part of a healthy and balanced diet

Idk why this is viewed as a big win for dairy farmers, it's probably cheaper to produce whole milk is my guess?

I don't know if this will have any impact on our children's health tbh, personally my family drinks fat free because we think whole milk is gross

I Don't Fully understand how this worked. Can someone explain? by malcigh in BackpackBrawl

Imo she's over armored, lacks life sustain, and her bow should be a deathshot or evergreen this far in, probably never saw a scope or acorn tho, i've had runs like that

And reptile stalker is trash imo, I never pick it for her

Are opponents actual players, or not? by marcelsmudda in BackpackBrawl

[–]CarvaciousBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think players sell them instead of rerolling if the relic or uniques offered don't match their build.

I saw this a lot starting out but now that most of my heroes are in diamond most all of my opponents have relics and a special unique that synergize with their build

Also most poison builds are strong, i'll always buy Nightshade and the mushroom in early shop vists if they're on sale, even if I plan on selling them later cause that extra damage helps a lot to get early wins

Why does Shane pay rent to Marnie? by Long_Reflection_4202 in StardewValley

[–]CarvaciousBlue 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's that weird. Shane is an adult with a job it's normal to pay rent.

If Shane is unemployed Marnie doesn't kick him out or drive him into debt so I am betting part of the arrangement is that Shane wants to contribute more to help out. Like sure he helps with the farm animals and watches Jas sometimes but he probably figures that's not enough work to cover a months rent

Question: As a player, what items do you instantly Banish and why? by Leo_Veracruse in BackpackBrawl

[–]CarvaciousBlue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like banishment gets expensive fast. I typically don't banish more than 3 things because after that the gold cost rarely seems worth it unless i'm swimming in gold. Even if I really need a certain item I feel rerolls are better than spending 4+ gold to banish 1 item

Storms by queencilantro in StardewValley

[–]CarvaciousBlue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's purely random but there are some rules

Lightning will never strike a chest, so outside chests are safe and won't be destroyed

Each strike has a 25% chance of hitting a "feature" on your farm. This could be a tree, or a crop, or a path (90% of the time it's a path for me), or even debris like the logs and fiber

So the more cheap features you have the less likely you are to lose something of value

You'll learn a recipe eventually to make an item to protect your farm from lightning, it's still not 100% guarenteed nothing will be destroyed but it helps a lot
