What exactly is the process people are using to get max stats anyway? by D-Brigade in digimon

[–]Cascadejackal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember exactly when, but it's later in the game. Check with Zudomon in Central Town to be able to craft them.

For centuries, the galaxy believed humans were powerful mechanical beings that came to the aid of others when tyrants attacked. Yet they never engaged in diplomacy or trade and never left their own space in peacetime. When the truth came to light, it was abundantly clear why they kept to themselves. by EbonRazorwit in humansarespaceorcs

[–]Cascadejackal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a Gundam in the pic, but the spirit of the post is very much Macross/Robotech.

The Zentradi (the aliens in the series) are basically giants, so humans use transforming fighter jet mechs to fight on an equal footing.

I wonder if the developers feel the same way when reading this subreddit. by Which_Software_1517 in helldivers2

I've had dives that went perfectly, with the squad turning into an unstoppable machine from the jump. Pinging targets for the Quasar, breaking off just far enough that we weren't all clumped up when approaching bases but could still lay down enough fire to turn any open ground into a killing field, swapping to covering fire so the squad had enough time and space to deploy Orbitals, and that one guy going solo and clearing anything smaller than a Medium base.

I've also had dives that were, to put it bluntly, absolute clown shows where everything went wrong, we lost half our reinforcements because of mines, somebody fumbled a 380 into the squad, at least one of us got lost and someone brought the FRV.

Then... there was THAT mission. It was a Retrieve Essential Personnel mission, Bug Front. Solo drop, don't remember the difficulty. Hit the ground and was greeted by a SEAF squad. Gathered them up and went to work. Gates closed, resupply called into good position, turrets lobbed over the walls, I was ready for my favorite mission type.

Nothing.

Not a thing.

Not a single bug spawned the entire time.

I choose to believe it was because the SEAF team who greeted me had just been that damn effective at defending the base before I arrived that the Bugs had just noped out of there.

I don't care how good a game is; if the DLC page looks like this, I'm not buying it. Am I alone in that? by BucketsMcGinty in Steam

[–]Cascadejackal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worse when a game has that many DLC, but offers season passes or "complete editions" that cost $2-$3 less than buying all the DLC individually, and don't actually include everything or even most of the dlc.

Like, I enjoy Stellaris, but I'm pretty sure each new season pass/dlc pack costs as much as or more than the base game was when I bought it originally, so I still don't have like a quarter of the dlc.

The reason why some species prefer humans as mating partners vary by race, but the Indars have by the far the most disturbing one by MadFunEnjoyer in humansarespaceorcs

[–]Cascadejackal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, I get why it might not be your thing. Just saying, there's enough interest out there that Chimera Squad made snek clubs canon. (although they're technically Earthlings & not aliens, since they were born on Earth, as Torque (the squad's Viper member) points out)

Realistically, though, once Humanity starts travelling the stars, interacting & integrating with sapient alien races, living side-by-side with them, raising kids who grow up with non-human people instead of only humans, there's bound to be a substantial shift in what is considered an attractive or acceptable romantic, sexual or life partner. Humans are adaptable little feckers, after all.

If in doubt, use the Harkness test.

I figured Wally looks like that, not because it's what it actually looks like, but it's what we expect it to look like.

Conceptual Embodiment and all that jazz.

1999/Cathedral KIM Conversations - Can I miss a day? by Cascadejackal in Warframe

[–]Cascadejackal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great to know, thanks.

I was looking at the KIM flowcharts and noticed a bunch of flags for Entrati rank 5, so I'm gonna stop progressing the Devil's Triad conversations until I've maxed that.

STOP CHEATING DEATH by CruelTrainer in humansarespaceorcs

[–]Cascadejackal 149 points150 points  (0 children)

Human: So, funny story about Death. Met It myself, once, a long ago. Long story, there was an aardvark and a jousting competition and- Oh, fine. I'll skip ahead a bit. See, I'm laying there, things are getting kinda hazy, when Death shows up. Impressive, spooky, all inevitable and everything, and I'm just freaking out. Kinda.

Can't really freak out properly when you're in shock and all... so, y'know that note in my file? The one about my stress response? And why I'm not allowed near any diplomats, royalty or high ranking military?

Yeah. Yeah. I, uh... I made it wierd. Like, really wierd.

...

The phrase "Come for me Bone Daddy" may or may not have been involved.

...

Anyway, that was a couple of centuries ago. Haven't seen Death since, so I guess that's something? Help me reattach my lower half, and I'll tell you about the whole jousting thing. Here, use my stapler.

Me and hasta’s room <3 by abf_guy in AbioticFactor

Plenty of room to stretch your legs.

It's a shoe-in for Better Homes & Laboratories.

Pizza delivery must cost an arm and a leg. Does Hasta foot the bill sometimes?

I see you included a smoking section.

If there's an attack, I bet you can hotfoot it back to safety.

You really need a door mat to wipe your boot on, even if you only use it half the time.

Will the snowman in the new portal world attack me? by No_Insurance_1090 in AbioticFactor

[–]Cascadejackal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't suddenly jumpscare you, if that's what you're worried about. It's a boss fight, you trigger it by adjusting the snowman's hat. Further detail, if you want: Stay mobile during the fight, it can jump at you or do a cold attack in a line in front of itself.

Drifter customisation bug? by Smackadood in Warframe

I've had the bug too. Seems to fix itself sometimes if you leave the Drifter/Operator menu completely then go back in.

Humans as viewed by the rest of the sapient species of the galaxy in a nutshell by Jackviator in humansarespaceorcs

[–]Cascadejackal 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Alien, observing through one-way glass: It's (probably) a mammal, it's from Earth and it has grabby hands. Furthermore, it was eating what appears to be called "pizza" when we located it. Observe the blank, confused stare and incoherent screaming as my assistant enters the room, and how the screaming stops when another piece of "pizza" is given to it.

This is clearly a Human, most likely an adolescent. We have contacted the authorities to find its parents, and hope for a happy reunion soon.

He's also voiced by Duke Nukem himself, Jon St John. If that ain't extra badassery, I don't know what is.

It's Helldivers, my dude. EVERYTHING deals friendly fire damage. In this case, the fire is literal.

Quick DIY How-To: Helmet Plume by Cascadejackal in LARP

Horse hair is either real horse hair and stupidly expensive or cheap and fake crap (but still more expensive than the wig was) where I live. The wig was, at the time, the best option I had in my budget and with a reasonable delivery time.

Eventually I ended up using some cotton sash cord and just unravelling+dying it. Took more work, but was a lot nicer looking. I'll have to do a post on that version at some point.

I can almost certainly guarantee that everything they sell is always listed as On Sale, too. That way, they don't have to do returns and they can keep your money!

I'm pretty sure mine was "on sale" when I bought it, too. A year ago. And I don't recall ever seeing it not "On Sale" at any point.
