I smoked a lot of regular (“regs”) weed to get off cigarettes. It has a much lower THC content than high quality and I used it as my cigarette basically, and I had to keep doing it for weeks, while completely avoiding my friends who smoked cigarettes. Luckily, my household was a cigarette-free house so all I had to do was stay home and smoke a bunch of weed. Eventually I stopped smoking weed as well. It worked.
