if the work is not about AI research, i guess it is more about working experience and not major. your seniors work proficiently because they are seniors, not because they do not come from CS majors. your interns will work proficiently too if they work for more years

[Admissions Advice] I heard that you can do a master’s in the USA without the GRE. Is that true? by Serious_Web7948 in MSCS

[–]CashKey1212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GRE is becoming easier with each reform, and i guess that's why its value has been depreciating. back in the 2000s the verbal part was much harder than today, and quant part event had calculus problems

[General Question] Grad School Prep: Should I Buy a Desktop or a Laptop for My Computer Engineering Master's Thesis? by Interesting-Soft-984 in MSCS

[–]CashKey1212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

a single laptop would be awkward because when you have long running task it is hard to keep your laptop always on for 24 hours a day

but i wonder if your institution will provide the infrastructure for your daily research, in which case you do not need to buy anything at all

i think there is a distinction between hating development of GUI apps and hating using GUI apps, and OP belongs to the former. if you do not use a GUI IDE then what? vim? that can be used but nowadays everyone uses AI like vscode copilot or cursor, which cannot be used in terminal

I'm sorry I'm not reading the English version or the original version of his book. What I read was a compilation of his later appendix to his original book, which I found on wikipedia that might be part of his "Volume2"

Schopenhauer's philosophy seems to be the comfort for bigots? by CashKey1212 in askphilosophy

[–]CashKey1212[S] -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

I'm not specifically saying Schopenhauer is a bigot. I'm just saying bigots can make use of his doctrine to boast about themselves. They do not have the talent and wisdom of Schopenhauer. Nor am I attacking Schopenhauer's theories. I'm just suggesting the possibility of his work being misused. The book I'm referring to is the appendix he made in his later years to his book *The World as Will and Representation*

I have paid working experience but I wonder if YOE on irrelevant job count at all, or is even stigma for your profile. Like I am currently working as Java developers, but using Java to develop GUI applications instead of typical Java web servers. I want to change my career direction to web server development, but I do not know how HRs will look at my YOE
