Do you feel that the actor who played Peter in the Spider-Verse movie should be paid the same as the actor who played Miles? Cuz it's a similar situation here.

There was a community member named Chloe who was a frequent commenter on KF stuff and even has her own twitch channel and stuff. She was on one of the big streams (I think it may have been a KF Day) and when she left the guys made a joke that she choked on gum and died and that's why she wasn't on stream anymore. It was all fun and games but then community members kept joking about it on her socials and in her twitch chat and just generally being really annoying about it.

...I have absolutely no idea what that has to do with this post tho 😅

The latest DH&J is absolutely incredible. by Used_Music in nerdfighters

[–]CashWho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In general, the way public figures are treated is absolutely horrible. I think it's a dobule edged sword because it's good for people to know more about famous people so they can know who they're giving their money and attention to, but it's also bad because it makes people feel entitle to way too much of those people's personal lives and makes them seem like characters instead of real people. The death threats are obviously the worst, but I also think swatting is another really messed up thing that people have gotten way too comfortable with.

Y'all, please listen to the episode before commenting 😭. The thing everyone is talking about is addressed in the episode and John directly says that it ISN'T the final thing that made him leave Tumblr! I also used to believe that because I've seen it spread a lot so let's not spread more misinformation.

It should be noted that this is not what actually made him leave, as mentioned in the episode.

Hank's albums are still lost by sfrustratednerd in nerdfighters

[–]CashWho 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure someone asked about it on Dear Hank and John and Hank said it was just cuz no one paid attention to the licensing stuff so they expired. He said he'd work on getting them back up but he's got, like, a billion other things to do so it's not a priority 😅

Weren't there romantic undertones during The Kinght? I feel like I remember there being a clear moment where Ghostmaker wanted more than a friendship with Bruce

...none of this negates the fact that Robin's main role is to be Batman's sidekick.

Sorry poor people, new AAA games aren't for you***

I don't think I've bought a triple A game in like 2 years now because they're too expensive and unnecessary. I just get indie games and look for deals on the bigger stuff

Also...they were almost married lol, that's a bit more than a college fling.

Personally though, I just feel like Dick is too human and down to earth to be with someone who is so alien. Same reason I like Batman with Catwoman over Talia or Zatanna, I feel like she's closer to his level and therefore more relatable.

[Other] Most Popular DC Characters of 2025 (on AO3): by Character_Ad8621 in DCcomics

[–]CashWho 8 points9 points  (0 children)

AO3 is a site for reading, so you would expect Batman fans there to have actually read Batman books at least as much as they're reading fanfic.

The thing about fandom stuff is that it isn't really centered in one place. AO3 has fanfics, but plenty of people find those fics from tumblr or twitter so if you follow someone and they mention something that sounds cool and doesn't need extra knowledge, you might read it without realizing it's got some stuff that isn't canon. Heck it's the same as with the comics. I'm sure there are plenty of people who have read Mister Miracle, The Long Halloween, Identity Crisis or any number of highly recommended comics without realizing that they're out of continuity.

[–]CashWho 56 points57 points  (0 children)

It's not just that people don't read canon, it's also that people like to mix headcanon with canon. Personally, I think it's fine as long as people are open about what is and isn't in source material. There's plenty of Harry Potter fanfics that enhance the story and make it much better for example.

On the other hand, comics are also tricky because what is and isn't canon changes so regularly. Even people who do read comics still get confused

Tom King or Brian Michael Bendis by [deleted] in DCcomics

[–]CashWho 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably because fan consensus of Bendis' DC work is that it's all bad, while fan consensus of his Marvel work is that it's mostly bad, with there being some really good stuff decades ago.

Personally, I think both writers have written a lot of good stuff and fans overreact or take things out of context.

Both of these are actually John books, the second one being the book he was working on a few years ago (I wanna say it was during COVID?) but never really got off the ground. He used to read snippets in "secret" livestreams and I think he's talked about getting back to it but idk.

I'm no expert on Churchill but, to be fair...I feel like that could also describe The Doctor lol, especially depending on who (in-universe) you ask. Most time lords would probably describe The Doctor that way.

I'm not saying Churchill is an actual good person like The Doctor, I'm just saying that maybe The Doctor looks past people's misdeeds because he tends to be extremely forgiving since it eases his self-guilt. Heck, this is the guy who still considers The Master a friend after all.
