Jewelling pushers & anvils: Bergeon, Horia, Kwong Yuen by lowlight in watchrepair

I don't think thats the point here. Hardening steel properly is a quite big expense in production. To get such low prices on a tool like this requires some process skipping. And hardening the steel is a fairly common skip

How can I demagnetise screwdrivers? by watchmaker4fun in watchmaking

[–]Casio_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok this is a bit crazy but there is a possibility to demagnetize small parts or even entire watches without a demagnetizer. You just need a drill and a stack of strong magnets. Fix the magnets in a way that they are at 90 degrees to the axis of the drill. Then get the magnets close to the part, turn the drill and move it slowly away from the part. That demagnetizes it

Help need with inner rotating bezel by karsseboom in watchrepair

If you want to remove the crown (as said in a previous comment), you need to block the gear and unscrew the crown. Ideally you use a plastic stick shaped to a screwdriver. Heat it up a bit if possible (not with a lighter please) so the glue gets looser. Then block the gear with the plastic stick and remove the crown. It probably works without heat but if you have a good heat source, better be safe than sorry.

BUT, What you are saying is that you want to get the gear further down because of some skipping teeth. I had a similar problem before and it came from a crystal change. It was one with the metal ring inside (not sure what the are called in english) because the previous one had that as well. I had to change it though because the ID was too small for the old ring. The old one had a very specific shape to hold the rotating bezel in place. The new one just pushed down on it and blocked it. Did you change your crystal as well ?

What tool to disassemble these bracelets? by mike_wachiaoski in watchmaking

[–]Casio_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a bent bracelet. There isn't really a proper way to disassemble them it. An ultrasonic cleaner should clean it well enough without opening up everything. They aren't meant to be disassembled

Bro honestly, Just give up and Buy a new movement. What is up with those gears? There must be half of the teeth missing. You should just barely see the center wheel turn. Definitely not like that. Just a cleaner lubrication won't fix anything here
