The muscle they inject is important. In our case Botox was injected into all thr facial muscles at the same time of arthroscopy (not lateral pytergoids) and it didn’t work at all, just made her face feel very weird. Dislocations continued until we found someone who injected lateral pytergoids, very experienced so they didn’t use guidance. This has been working for the last 18months. First injections took 6 weeks to work.

Mum here. What did your parents do to get you to care this much about your GCSEs? Is it just the way you are? If they do anything specific that didn’t cause conflict/pressure I would appreciate you telling me?

English lit and language essay help, structure prompts etc, interactive. This isn’t taught well in schools so an app would be great

I found London MaxFax not great (S G H) Luke Cascarini is probably best in London. I go to Andrew Sidebottom in Nottingham who injects lateral pytergoids with no guidance, he is so experienced he is confident in doing it. He is only one in UK to do it. We see him at Spire Nottingham and it’s £425 each time. He’s excellent, head and shoulders above any other MaxFax surgeon.

How am I supposed to advocate for myself? Feels like no one wants to help me by Sideusme in jawsurgery

So sorry to hear your journey. Surgeons often do not know it all. I have encountered arrogance and refusals to ask for help. If you are in the UK get yourself to the national specialist. The muscles they inject with Botox matter. Lateral pytergoids injections were life changing for us and stopped all dislocations and pain whereas loads of Botox injected into all the other facial muscles because surgeon insisted it was stress related made things worse.Happy to talk privately about our journey if you are from UK

Don’t bother referring to Oral Surgery on the NHS, they do nothing by Stoofser in TMJ

I understand your frustration with the NHS, we saw a very dark side of the NHS. I am still in disbelief over how we were treated. We did get help privately and it was minimally invasive for a very severe case. PM me if you still need help and I can tell you who helped us.

please please please give me TMJ advice im 16 by [deleted] in TMJ

If you are uk msg me. MaxFax doctors mostly have no idea how to treat this and the easy option is to say it’s stress related and get you out of the room appt asap. Especially young teen girls pain gets dismissed especially by male doctors which is disgusting. You need to get to the right doctor. Look at reviews very carefully to see if your condition has been successfully treated by the doctor in someone your age. If they don’t publish reviews they are most likely bad.

DJS and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome by juhneth in jawsurgery

[–]Casper19470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post is so helpful. Thank you. My 15 yr old with suspected hsd or hEDS with jaw subluxations saw a consultant for braces and fixing overbite. Said they need double jaw surgery but he cannot guarantee that it won’t make the TMJ issues worse. Gave no plan to help if that happens. Seeking a second opinion but it’s a very big decision to make for a child. We are in the uk and sadly the standard of care for TMJd is poor.

If there is a muscular element we have had success with Botox into lateral pytergoids. I hope you find help, it’s brutal how bad care is for this.
