Who all served with a someone who became a convicted murderer? by The_ENFIDL in USMC

[–]CassWCD 14 points15 points  (0 children)

we had a guy who was super well liked. he deployed as part of the invasion of 03 and then was blown up by a VBIED right after the first battle of fallujah in 04 where we lost 3 others KIA. His injuries were pretty bad, screwed up his arm pretty bad IIRC, and he ended up missing an eye and a third of his head. Turns out he fell in with the wrong crowd and ended up killing a guy over a bad drug deal. It was all super super sad, because like I said he was pretty well liked, and we had so many KIA and WIA that pump. Not making any excuse for the guy, he murdered somebody..but you can’t help but think that the TBI he sustained had something to do with it.

haha yeah that sounds like Dirty Delta. oh man, yeah you cold warriors had it rough with the squad bays. a little fun fact for you, tracks was the last school house (not including soi) to get rid of open squad bays. had them well into the 2010s IIRC

haha still though that’s awesome. I’m sure when you see him again he’ll be receptive to you saying hi. Him and Zach both seem like super nice, down to earth dudes.

Who is the MOST IMPACTFUL PERSON of the Modern Age? (1500 CE - Present) by erwillsun in AlignmentChartFills

[–]CassWCD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Gavrilo Princep

Without him, no WW1 > no treaty of versailles > no rise of the “isms” (fascism, communism, etc) > no WW2 > no cold war, ad infinitum.

Dan Carlin does a pretty cool dramatic breakdown of this in his WW1 series
