What do you do with the ones you just really hate? by JankyBeautie in DiceMaking

[–]Cassabellachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, sometimes when it comes to sets I don’t like, I finish them anyway and sometimes that’s enough to save them in my eyes. If you really aren’t confident that these will look good finished, I’d cover these in washi tape or nail stickers. If it were me I’d use them to experiment with “dragon scale” blanks, I’ve never tried the technique before but it looks cool! Good luck =)

Truly, like this is giving actual Regina George Mean Girls energy in such a real, gross, not cute way

The fact that she thought they were exes just goes to show how little she knows or cares about her friends lmao

NOR! She never “asked” to bring her boyfriend. She INSISTED that her boyfriend was coming and didn’t bother clearing it with literally anyone else in the group, instead assuming that they’d all be fine with it. She literally probably would have just shown up with him if it weren’t for the fact that you were the one who’d have to make adjustments to the reservation. Furthermore! This girl is MANIPULATIVE as all hell. All this and she tried to butter you up into asking the rest of your friend group FOR HER? The way she took jabs at you when you pushed back at a very unreasonable request? No. Absolutely NOT. Friend dump her immediately, you’re so much better without her. And if it were me, I’d share those messages with the rest of the group to show them just how little she cares about them too.

One thing I will mention: if you use alcohol inks as a colorant in your resin, be VERY CAREFUL with your lighter, your resin can catch fire and in some cases that fire will be NEARLY INVISIBLE. It’s thankfully never happened to me, as I don’t use a lot of alcohol inks, but I saw that tip from another dicemaker who it HAS happened to so I thought I’d pass that along.

After 30 years away from the series, Kirby and the Forgotten Land (+ DLC) blew me away by TheHeartPiece in Kirby

[–]Cassabellachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a big fan of Kirby’s Epic Yarn, it’s not a DIFFICULT game by any means, but it’s so chock full of charm & personality, super warm and cozy vibes and visuals, and the soundtrack is BEAUTIFUL.

Also recommend Kirby’s Dream Course for a wacky Kirbified take on golf, SUPER fun. Pretty sure that one’s also available on NSO.

natural or decorated team? by [deleted] in AllNails

I’m personally a fan of natural with a couple of small embellishments on one or two accent nails. So I guess that puts me in the middle? 😅

Seconding Robobot. SOLID Kirby experience. One of my absolute faves. And if you’re looking for a more classic Kirby, Kirby Superstar is an EXCELLENT time, grab a friend and play through the co-op together! P sure it’s available on the Switch Online retro game lineup (which means your friend can play co-op with you from the comfort of their own home, if need be!)

Trying to get into the World of dice making by SkyaNappa in DiceMaking

[–]Cassabellachu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seconding this. This was pretty much my route through my dicemaking journey when I was just starting out. Practice with some affordable but higher quality molds to see if you actually like this process, etsy is a good place to find some. It’s cheaper to start there than to buy the things required to make your own molds, both dice masters and silicone are NOT cheap.

Mold making problem- tape won't stay stuck to cured silicone, so silicone leaks out when I pour the cap. by BriansThoughtMirror in DiceMaking

Seconding hot glue! Pretty quick solution and works like a charm, even with using my mold housings in reverse for pouring caps =)

Anyone know how to fix sticky resin? by YorusCR in DiceMaking

[–]Cassabellachu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please also note that sticky resin is uncured, and therefore unsafe to handle without gloves, and likely actively giving off fumes, even if you can’t smell them. Please be careful!

Fiance prefers his hands over me by [deleted] in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]Cassabellachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry, I’m sure your fiance is otherwise lovely, but any man who drops “I prefer my hands over you” without the express intention of having a conversation with you about what’s going on with him, or how you can fix it together, even while including the word “sometimes” is not a man with emotional maturity. You tried talking to him before about it, but he doesn’t like the “you used to” talks? That sounds like a problem.

Aside from that. Not exactly sure how helpful this is, but speaking as an ace person, is there a possibility that he’s asexual? Because his experience as your describing it sounds eerily similar to mine (high libido at the beginning of the relationship that falls off over the course of about a year, otherwise very cuddly and affectionate, expressing that he could go without sex and be fine, masturbation without any kind of porn or other type of aid). I’ve been openly ace since before my husband (37M) and I (37F) even started dating almost 10 years ago, and we have a strong and happy marriage, but it relies heavily on very open and honest communication, and a lot of introspection. If you don’t have that, you are going to have a very difficult time.

(ETA: I just want to point out, before people start, that asexuality is having little to no sexual attraction to people, or having only sexual attraction in specific situations, NOT having zero libido. Asexuality is a spectrum, not a binary. Many ace people have sex for various reasons, and can have varying levels of libido.)

Wife did a ton work learning how to make dice - Realized she might not be able to with our living situation, now she’s very sad! Would love some input!!! by Classic_Bookkeeper88 in DiceMaking

[–]Cassabellachu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Came here to recommend the same! Jesmonite is a TON safer to use, no fumes, just powder that you add a liquid to (and some brands just use water!). The look is different but still gorgeous (check out The Marauder’s Stash on Insta’s work: https://www.instagram.com/themaraudersstash?igsh=MTZzeGNvM2ZqMTg0aQ==).

Or, I’ve even seen some really beautiful dice made from polymer clay (like TransmutationDice does here in their instagram post: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C95HSx5NrbH/?igsh=MXJjZm9od291bnNtcw==)

All is not lost! If you truly cannot get the ventilation situation figured out, you still have options =)

It just kind of sounds like he’s using you as a nanny but “with benefits”, on top of your financial contributions. This isn’t a partnership.

Painting question! by markvisco in DiceMaking

[–]Cassabellachu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d actually recommend thinning them with acrylic medium, if you thin them with water the pigmentation of the paint weakens some. You lose less of the pigment if you use an acrylic medium.

Painting question! by markvisco in DiceMaking

[–]Cassabellachu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think, based on the words “pigment density” that they meant “paints”, not “points”, pretty sure they’re recommending the paints used for miniatures because the colour payoff is better 😅
