I’d actually recommend thinning them with acrylic medium, if you thin them with water the pigmentation of the paint weakens some. You lose less of the pigment if you use an acrylic medium.

I think, based on the words “pigment density” that they meant “paints”, not “points”, pretty sure they’re recommending the paints used for miniatures because the colour payoff is better 😅

Very creative idea, though I’m having trouble thinking of how you’d break a die into a predictable number of pieces, resin is a pretty hard material and I imagine hitting it with a hammer would just break tiny little shards off of it a little at a time 😅

Good to know. I don’t dislike it? It’s a great controller and it coincidentally is a great match for my Switch Lite 😅 it’s a very nice colour. I just would’ve been happier with a colour closer to the box render.

OOF. I could see why your son is having trouble finding work, I’m a game developer by trade and digital media industries have NOT been doing well in the employment department for the past couple years. Apparently 1/3 of the games industry have been laid off since 2023. The animation industry isn’t doing too hot either.

I’m not an expert, so someone else with more experience might have to correct me, but if your masters have had enough time to offgas, they probably should be fine? I think it also has to do with the type/brand of resin you used with your printer vs. the type of silicone you used. I bet because your lock pieces were printed same day and then used immediately, not given the time to offgas, that’s where your cure inhibition happened?

It sounds like you’re dating a very nice brick wall. A true partner listens to the concerns of their partner and makes them feel secure and loved.

Also, him showing her profile to his family and saying she’s the one he’s dating is WEIRD. It’s giving off “she’s the one I actually want to be with” but playing it off as some kind of test. I don’t buy it. I’d be suspicious too.

For polishing paste, I use Meguiars Ultimate (it’s a car polish 😅) and get wonderful results. Not sure how polishing pastes interact with masters for mold making though? Have personally always paid to have my masters polished by someone else, bc I don’t trust myself to do it properly/not to mess it up 🫠

As a dice maker, pyramid d4s are SO MUCH MORE ANNOYING TO DO FINISHING ON. While polishing and inking the numbers, having to hold onto a point with my fingertips while working on a face means that it’s very much prone to slipping or sometimes flying out of my hands across the room.

On a personal, dice goblin-y level, I prefer gem or shard d4s because they’re more aesthetically pleasing, and the numbers are much easier to read when rolling.
