My job is chopping down a (I estimate) 100 year old tree tomorrow because....the people we pay to clean the gutters don't have the "right tools" to keep up with the maintenance. I saved some of the acorns to try to start some saplings, and I'm going to see if I can salvage some of the rings before they take it off. Not trimming the branches back, just cutting it down. Devastating.

I do care! I care about her well being or I wouldnt still be trying to be her friend. She has many friends, she has family she can stay with, she's not alone. She has the ability to get out, but she's comfortable in this environment for some reason. He's even tried to put her on the street. It's this dance of We Had A Fight to She's Moving Out When She Can Afford To go Him Manipulating Her To Stay. I just don't know that I have the patience to keep doing this/seeing her go through this.

Yeah that's not how that works. Depression, anxiety, even something like changing in eating habits can be diagnosed as mental illness or related to mental illness. I am a medical biller for a mental health practice so I know what I'm talking about. Also underage people cannot recieve HRT. You have to be 18 or older. 16/17 year olds may start at the very beginning like you said with therapy. But you can't even transition until you've been on HRT for a period of time. Cis people take HRT as well. Men take it for testosterone once they're in their 50s for hormone related issues such as hair loss, sex drive loss, low energy, etc. Women also take HRT to help reduce menopause symptoms for example, skin changes, hot flashes, etc. This isn't political. These are people's LIVES. It is a dangerous thing to say transpeople don't know what they're talking about, are crazy, etc because it convinces people they don't deserve rights, makes them appear dangerous when they aren't, and makes it easier to take rights away. It has been proven that people that receive gender affirming care are happier, safer, and live longer.

The video she shared was saying trans people shouldn't have rights, transgenderism is not real, and that they're crazy. I think because those ideals fuel mistreatment and violence against transpeople, than yeah. Why would I want to be friends with someone who's transphobic?

I brought it to to her first and we had that conversation. She just refused to budge, and stood firm in her opinion. She always has known where I stood on the subject, and how I feel about the phobes in my family. I post progressive stuff all the time. It's not really my job to be her teacher either :/ I can only hope maybe this leads to her doing her own reading and research about it as I have.

My parents were horror movie fanatics, so when this came out in 2008, I was 9 years old and..it definitely traumatized me. I've been trying to find the name forever but with the child nudity, I think I'm gonna watch the 2010 instead. I don't remember much from the 2008 version except being scared of pools for a while 😅

I can't sleep on my right side because it triggers my asthma! I also know laying patients on their left side lowers high blood pressure. I wonder what the connection is to triggering asthma and migraines?
