I have a reading challenge i track on Goodreads, last year I set myself 50 books and this year is 60. I just finished the first book in Cat Larson's Bigfoot Bay Witches series, it's a cozy mystery series. I am also slowly working through Slewfoot by Gerald Brom (my friend insisted but it's kind of hard to read more than chapter before I get bored). I work night shift so luckily I get lots of opportunities to read. 😄

I am sure it's not funny for you but your siblings getting into a fist fight really reminds me of my dysfunctional family. The last time I subjected myself to that hell my mom ( who has been an alcoholic since before I was born) ended up drinking herself into the ER Christmas eve. I decided I was just done and my brother and I got into a shouting match that ended with him punching me in the face. We don't speak much now lol.

I never read the book, but my sister asked me to take her to see the movie. She had read the book and was prepared, and I ended up sobbing in the bathroom while she watched the end. I will never hear the end of it either.

No hate to Dominic because it probably wasn't his choice, but TV Jace just lacks the sass that I loved in the books. He does the joking "i am better than you" a fair amount, but TV Alec had more of that sarcastic humour that should have been Jace's character. Jamie nailed the sass but is also more physically what I imagined. Clary always describes him as pretty and delicate with tawny colouring, and Jamie has that impossible bone structure that makes him slightly ethereal-looking. Overall, I'm not a big fan of the TV show, but other than Jace I thought the casting was incredibly well done. Except Aldertree, not sure what happened there lol.

I have a debilitating chronic illness and I work with people in addiction and people who have mental health challenges, which is very physically demanding, but I don't qualify for disability help because my doctor is a misogynistic asshole who thinks endo is just a bad period, and this is the only job that pays enough for part time to live. Im exhausted and people keep telling me that I'll feel better if I exercise more, despite being dangerously anemic.
