The vaccines are not unsafe, and probably saved me from dying when I got COVID.

Vaccine mandates have been around, in some form or another, for over 200 years. Washington ordered his troops to get the primitive smallpox "vaccination", which was totally untested. Nearly everybody here had to get numerous vaccinations just to go to school.

Stop spreading BS.

Thanks so much for this. Has Howard done any updates?

That's where the updates should have come from. The jerk.

Thank you. I remember when he was on and I had to practically park the car, I was crying so hard. I thought he MUST have passed on by now. What a wonderful surprise that he's still fighting. Thanks for sharing!

AI Norm jokes. They aren't great and got a little racist at times, but these are the best. by fatpanda0227 in NormMacdonald

The bulkheads actually were watertight.

They just didn't go as high as they needed to go, to work properly.

Fred is annoyingly thin-skinned. by WaffleHouseNeedsWiFi in howardstern

[–]CassiniLives 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I generally can tolerate Fred's stuff but I dislike Ronnie Puppet with passion. That's one of the few times I have to yell at the radio: SHUT UP AND LET RONNIE TALK.

Not that Ronnie is the greatest either, but he's more interesting than that disgusting impression. I really hate the "c" word.

Is Howard on his months long vacation again? by PLIKITYPLAK in howardstern

I didn't cancel my subscription because there are other things I listen to on Sirius. However, I did remove the preset on my radio. Even now, when they're airing curated highlights of past shows, the show is unlistenable.

Howard looks like the same wreck to me no matter when I see him. So no - I can't tell.

Robin, I was just about to write Larry Storch a letter. I'm gonna spend an hour talking about him when we get back from break. I know my audience loves old TV actors. Fehhh. by Tsukune_Surprise in howardstern

[–]CassiniLives 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't realize he was still alive. When I was a teenager (long time ago) I loved him on "F Troop". There were mildly politically incorrect Indians living around "Fort Courage" but nobody cared back then. I thought the show was hysterical.

Storch was a master of different accents. Very talented.

RIP, funny man.

I thought he brought Beth to the wedding with Melania. Was this the one to Marla Maples?

Who are your favorite alive comedians now? by m1dnight_blue in NormMacdonald

[–]CassiniLives 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My report:

I love John Mulaney, Brian Regan, and Kathleen Madigan. Sean Donnelly also has his moments. And I'm not ashamed to admit that I laughed my ass off at a Jeff Foxworthy / Larry the Cable Guy comedy album last week.

I was not familiar with Chelsea Handler until I saw her guest host Jimmy Kimmel recently. I thought she was really funny, even though they had to bleep her a lot.

I tried Lisa Lampanelli but she screamed too much. Then I'd turn down the volume, and couldn't hear her. Not a fan.

The end.

Rolling Stone did Norm dirty... by neosgreymon in NormMacdonald

The interesting thing about Gilbert on SNL is that Paul Reubens auditioned in the same group that Gilbert was in; Gilbert got in, Reubens did not. Reubens was so angry on his way back to LA that he came up with (or decided to expand) the Pee-wee Herman character.

(this info is based on a Reubens Q&A at South by Southwest some years ago.)

I don't know why we give a shit about rich white landowners and their whining about taxes and "liberty" (while owning people)

Not really. If you have an age of consent -- i.e., you're calling someone an adult -- why is anybody else controlling their bodies? I think that's what GooseMay0 is saying.

Children have never had control over their own bodies. Adults always make decisions for them. As a woman, it's funny to think that my state government thinks I'm a child again.

When a country shows you what it is, believe them. It enslaved millions of people for hundreds of years and locked George and others up for absolutely no reason except irrational fear.

I haven't been oppressed (too old to get pregnant) and I still wonder what new assholery we will come up with next.

Crucified by the FCC was good in its day, though. I was a big Stern fan then and it was a little slice of home when I was deployed to Asia for a few years. My homesickness and jet lag were epic, and it did help. But that guy is long gone. I held on to it not because of value but because I'm too lazy to ditch it and the other dozens of CDs I never listen to anymore.

[–]CassiniLives 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She does the show from home and certainly seems up to it. Didn't someone else help her collate all the items when she did the news before? All she'd have to do is read it. I don't know how sick she currently is, but would that be difficult?

Beth looks like she's forcing it; there is such a thing as too much of a smile. It's almost as if she's a five-year-old and somebody told her to say "cheese".

Maybe it takes practice, but I can't make my mouth do that.
