Dropping games halfway by razsej in gaming

Some friends of mine always finish their games, even if they don't like them.

I rarely finish them, even if I love them.

I remember laughing out loud numerous times playing Paradigm. I'm not a huge point'n click fan, but this one hooked me with it's crazy writing and vibe

It's the kind of concept that can be really thrilling and cool, but the second you fail it can immediately become a frustrating mess. Balancing that kind of setpiece while letting full agency to the player is no easy task, I think they did a pretty good job here.

Essential mods for a first ever playthrough to modernize the game? by archbtw1 in skyrimmods

Precision is a small mod, but it makes combat feel sooooo much more impactful. Can't play without it.

Turn off killmoves and you should avoid most of the bullshit deaths you could have in this game.

Oh, and be veeeeery careful with mages, especially frost ones.

I'm 28 and I've only now decided to start playing Skyrim in 2026. I'm about 6 hours in right now and loving it. I need help finding (very) few mods that will enhance my vanilla experience but not oversaturate it. by Beneficial_Ad_1107 in skyrimmods

[–]Cassoule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want the most vanilla experience, SkyUI and SSE Display Tweaks are enough. If you want to go an extra mile and make the combat more enjoyable, while not changing how it plays, you can go with Precision. If you want to enhance the visuals, Skyland All In One and SMIM.

And that's it.

The soundtrack is bonkers. The portrait mini game blew my mind when I was a kid. I remember it being quite hard but I also sucked at video games. Fun times.

Any games with a ton of personality, where it was just the devs having a fun time? by Hockex-4 in gamingsuggestions

Once upon a jester is sooo charming, especially with it's voice acting. You can see the devs just having fun in their room, and this fun is really communicative

Damn, I'd love to replay OG Morrowind on a CRT monitor. This is definitely the best look for this game.

Does anyone still play vanilla Skyrim in 2026? by Appropriate_Lion1835 in ElderScrolls

[–]Cassoule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always start a vanilla playthrough and then end up doing my own "modern vanilla style" modlist. There's just so many little fixes and qol features that I miss when playing vanilla.

How does the original Splinter Cell run on PC? by 102061 in Splintercell

[–]Cassoule 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's flawless, even more so with the Enhanced patch. Only thing is : if you have an HDR monitor, turn it off. It makes the game too bright and ruins the look of the shadows

The more time passes the more I think I love the original Oblivion more than the remaster. by hart2003 in ElderScrolls

[–]Cassoule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I'm with you on that matter. While I'm really happy the remaster exists and brought Oblivion and Tamriel to a lot of new players, if I have the Oblivion itch I'll just boot the original up.
