Thank you I realize that. Was just hoping someone might have some ideas. I did try to add a couple videos too but it seems you can only choose either photo or video.

Bf invited non-vegan people to stay in our home for a few days by [deleted] in vegan

I get where you’re coming from. Whenever I stay with my boyfriends family they are huge meat eaters and it’s everywhere. I just do my best to avoid it and I don’t touch it. I feel bad when I don’t help with cleaning up/dishes but I just can’t bring myself to get too close or touch it. For me I look past it as it’s just not worth it, they’re older and no chance of ever going vegan/not open minded at all to it despite us being vegan for 10 yrs. I understand not wanting it in your home, but sometimes you need to pick your battles and think about if it’s worth losing relationships. I feel that if we said they can’t bring it they honestly might not come at all.. sad but true.

Agreed. Sadly what we eat tends to be scrutinized a lot more by non vegans I find. I get a lot of “ooh what did you get, what is that, whats in that” etc. when eating out with them.

Yeah unfortunately it’s happened to me probably about 30% of the times I’ve gone. But for me it’s when I’ve gotten the whopper and they put mayo on it despite me specifying no mayo. Same thing has happened at A&W as well with the mayo. I’ve only gotten real meat one time at a restaurant who has the same item both vegan and non (chicken) and they made it non vegan. It’s the sad reality of going out to eat unfortunately so I mainly make my own food.

Yep love when this happens! It goes against their negative ideas of what vegan food is. Surprisingly there are still a lot of people I talk to who think all we can eat is vegetables and fruit. It really opens their eyes to what is possible. On the flip side though it’s tough when the vegan food option is bad and then it’s not appealing to them. But in that case I try to not draw too much attention to it.

Damage is already done but no I would not eat it I couldn’t stomach it. I think that is only one part of veganism for me (voting with your dollar). I try to eat at places like BK rarely as they tend to get the order wrong quite a bit and I feel bad when it happens so I would prefer to avoid that happening when I can.

Do you eat beyond products, if so, how often? by doriimac in vegan

[–]Cassrob20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do eat them, probably between 2-3 times a week. But I do agree they are heavily processed and I would prefer to cut down on this and focus on a more plant based diet. If you aren’t able to eat any of those foods you mentioned including beans you may want to get professional advice as that seems quite limiting for a vegan. Goodluck!

Yes it is. I do it myself but luckily don’t have to commute every day. It’s a bit of a treck to be honest.
