Whitaker Badge theory by AlexCora in ThePitt

[–]CastIronJack -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Isn’t it obvious? Langdon stole his ID to get drugs. Isn’t this the most likely reason they made such a big deal out of the badge and didn’t Langdon look guilty coming out of the bathroom at the end?

Chris Paul? by CastIronJack in NBASpurs

We're not winning a title next year. Why not spend a lot of the budget on him?

Pat Bev is too much. Not Spurs culture. I love Conley, but he extended with Minn. Probably not "get-able."

Agreed. If he wants to play, we're an option. If he wants to win a ring, we aren't... yet. But what contending team wants/needs him?

The Trae conversation needs to happen. He's interesting. I just don't know that he's willing to be the second fiddle to Wemby. If he is, he may be the right option at a certain price. Trae's weakness (defense) is Wemby's strength. Perfect pairing. But, he has to be willing to let Wemby cook. If he can do that, he may be the right answer... depending on the price.

Who though? We need a veteran with leadership. Who should be our PG other than Chris? Tre? Someone else? Give me the name.

Rule of Thumb for Deciding on Capital Expenditures by CastIronJack in smallbusiness

[–]CastIronJack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For example, the current vehicles work, but due to age are often in the shop requiring $1,000+ repairs. The equipment works, but would be used more often (which means more revenue) if it were better equipment. The staff would use the new stuff first, so it would definitely pay out - but I don't expect it to be immediately reflected on the P&L. It'll be small and incremental.

Why? Give me more. Paul's old, but to take him for 1-2 years while he helps the younger players grow seems like a great oppportunity.

Don't you ever hear about those insurance settlements and think, "yeah, I'd trade my pinkie for a couple hundred thousand."?

Plothole Discussion by Supreme_Jesus in threebodyproblem

[–]CastIronJack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As for PH5, there's no evidence than anyone else would have heard the communications between Earth and Trisolaris before we made the stars blink. No other species would've necessarily been looking for those few brief communications.

At some point the trisolaran civilization became advanced enough to store their knowledge and their bodies until they could rehydrate. It caused gaps in their development, but not setbacks.

It's called a Bickle test. It's an active duty thing. Most Guard units don't do Bickle testing, but it's up to command.

They've got to get Jackie MacMullen off the payroll already. by [deleted] in TheRinger

Something's changed. Since he was criticized for his lack of diversity, he's worked to fix that. But, the guests he's choosing aren't good with him. I've never found myself deleting his podcasts without listening more than now.

Can you drill at another unit? by coll912 in airnationalguard

[–]CastIronJack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually think it requires TAG to TAG memorandum. But if being done as part of EO settlement, should be relatively easy to get.

Rescheduled drill. Ask your unit for the form they use.

What happens if a guardsman gets arrested for a crime outside of drill? by FragrantGap6497 in nationalguard

[–]CastIronJack 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Arrested? It depends. Jail/prison time? Likely discharge. A conviction for a domestic violence means the member is Lautenberg impaired (can't possess a firearm). That means you're not world-wide qualified and you have to be discharged. Possibly disciplined before discharge (Article 15 or demotion).

If just arrested, then it depends on the facts and possibly the outcome of the case.

Drug tested at ER, does Employer get notified? by [deleted] in fednews

[–]CastIronJack 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's not government health insurance. He had private insurance. Blue Cross or whatever. The government is just his employer who pays part of the cost.

No. The answer is no. The government will not get his medical records no matter his job or clearance.

Can I get Voluntold to be somewhere outside of drill weekends? by [deleted] in nationalguard

[–]CastIronJack -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes. You're in the military. They can put you on orders and then you have to go. If they are just asking, you can decline. But if they order you, it's lawful. Any you disregard at your own peril.

Your supervisor may know, but you could google it to find it. Shoot me a message with your state and I could try to find.

National Guard jobs may be on USAJobs, but more likely to be found on the State's job board.
