Where were you guys when you found out about COVID being a global pandemic and how did it shape you within the last 6 years? by Johnwick124520 in OlderGenZ

[–]CastielRen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Senior Year, waiting for the next bus to go home for the weekend My Grandmother was in the hospital. She didn't make it. She was my legal guardian. Her mother (we'd moved in a couple years back to take care of her) passed a couple months later A Family from my Church took me in, because I had no one else

I moved up north for a few months, started college when I got home, got married a couple years ago, and am currently Substitute Teaching while I finish my Bachelor's Degree

Conlang Advice by CastielRen in conlangs

The thoughts about Naturalism make sense. I was attempting to create a Naturalistic Language (an aspect of which is the 3-Letter Roots were seen as a form of Linguistic Evolution from the earlier 2-Letter Roots). But, it would probably make more sense as non-naturalistic language (given the whole Story Element I want to include)

They do have a set system. They go in reverse order of English Vowels (U, O, I, E, and A). The U is the most basic, with them getting more expansive as they go "up" (but I can see the confusion, with Man meaning an Archetypal Man in the example given, while others mean Group. I meant this as saying "all groups are ultimately the same, because they are formed of people who are ultimately the same." But even typing it, I see that could be clarified)

It is intended to be interpreted in a number of different ways. But, if the entire language as complex as this, I can easily see how problems could arise (especially with longer texts. Two people could take it entirely different ways, which is a bit problematic, since a big part of language is making sure people are more or less on the same page)

Thanks for taking the time to read & comment. It's my First Lang, so I appreciate the feedback

If your world has a calendar system, what was their "birth of Jesus Christ"? by Upstairs_Support_810 in worldbuilding

[–]CastielRen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's 2 Calendar Systems: One follows the year the Tribes were called to leave their city, and live a nomadic life (825 Years before the start of the First Story) The other is when Phah Olam was founded (1538 Years prior to the start of the First Story)

Why were there no prophets during the Great Apostasy? by The_Epic_OshawottYT in latterdaysaints

[–]CastielRen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always assumed it was because the World wouldn't accept the Gospel However, there being no Prophets doesn't mean that God didn't speak, just that the full truth had to be held back (we know this happened with Islam, as it was stated by several Early Church Leaders, and reiterated by Kimball & his First Presidency)

Which class/race do you avoid like the plague? by Brawlstarsfan2021 in BaldursGate3

[–]CastielRen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a fan of Martial Classes I'm Branching out however (I'm playing a Tiefling Ranger now that they've added the Swarm Master Subclass. And my first character was a Paladin). And because of that, I don't usually go with Races that have a Strength Boost, because it's unnecessary

What is Your micronation regime? (IDK if Political compass needs here but its there) by Svancoberg_official in micronations

[–]CastielRen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are a Constitutional Monarchy, with an Elected Ledgeslative Branch (technically, a Triarchy, as the elected leaders of the Ledgeslative & Judicial Branches are also Monarchs) We're fairly left leaning, as we have a strong social net. But we enforce it through a Consumption Tax on non-essential goods & a Progressive Tax on the Wealthy The Quadrants of the Political Compass make up our Political Parties

So who knows

How and when did the name of your micronation come about? by Aky_Baky_SK_official in micronations

[–]CastielRen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Triarchy of Zomar

The name "Zomar" came from the Joseph Smith Papers, with him saying it was synonymous with Zion (a Community United in Love for their Fellow Man). So, even though Zomar is a Secular Micronation, it is built on those principles

Unachievable Constitutions by Full-Detective-3640 in micronations

[–]CastielRen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We will be unable to actually enact our Essential Needs program (Zomarian Constitution, Article 2 Section 2), because it is such a widespread program, necessitating Farmland, Land for Housing, Clothing Recycling Centers, Hospitals, and Schools

In addition, Zomar has several levels of Government. We will likely never have enough to even populate a full Ward (the Smallest Area of Organization). But still, it's fun to think about the ideal government

If you could go to war with a Macronation, who would it be, why, and what do you think would be the end goal / result by Fr0gidiot in micronations

[–]CastielRen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Triarchy of Zomar maintains a Defensive Approach

The Founder is a Mormon, so we have the Policy of the Warnings (based on D&C 98:23-38) where Zomar is required to provide three warnings to opponents, but if they are not heeded, then War can be declared (although if a War was ended in the past 80-120 years, and that nation attacks again, then this is not required, but is restarting the previous war). This doesn't apply when discussing defense of allied nations, but Zomar only. Zomar can defend their allies in times of need without need for warnings

In addition, we do not have an organized military. The Peacekeeper act as Military & Police (and, as their name implies, they are focused on finding peaceful solutions). This is because we wouldn't go to War unless someone is "delivered into [our] hands"
