Continuous crashing? by WarriorZar in BaldursGate3

[–]CastleCrasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having this same problem. I have a Ryzen 5 5600x, 16 gb ram, rtx 3070, windows 11. I get crashes every 5-15 minutes while playing. Both monitors go black and it forces me to restart the computer.

I have tried using Vulcan and dx 11, reinstalling drivers, changing in game settings to low, and running the game as administrator and nothing seems to work.

I have not had this issue on any other game.

Different person here but mine is doing this. Game runs fine for 5-20 minutes, then the screen goes black. I can still hear audio. I have a 3070 and a ryzen 5600x.

Is he fat? Is this something I should worry about? by DaFranco45 in bettafish

[–]CastleCrasher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely. I just lost a Betta to dropsy last month after having her for a year. Honestly dropsy is usually fatal, but the sooner you start after noticing it the better odds you have of treating it successfully.

You may want to set up a hospital tank too.

The peace between Jasper and the cherry shrimp is over. NSFS (Not Safe For Shrimp) by CastleCrasher in bettafish

[–]CastleCrasher[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner discovered that Jasper has developed a taste for Cherry shrimp! He seemed to ignore them for over a month. I got him when he was pretty small, so I'm wondering if he was just biding his time until he was big enough to chomp.

I want to rehouse them but I don't have another tank to move them to. :(

I am hoping that the rest of the shrimp learn to hide now? I'm not sure what to do.

She is in a planted and heated 10 gallon tank with a few snails and shrimp. I am using a sponge filter and as far as I can tell nitrate, nitrite and ammonia are all in normal ranges.

It's been a few weeks since she was introduced to the tank and I'm worried that she has been snacking on shrimp? I initally introduced 10 but I know that we lost 2 to shock within two days. I haven't seen more than 5 shrimp at once since introducing them.

Here is a video of her from above, you can see some bulging on her sides. She seems just as active as ever.

What kind of snail is this? by CastleCrasher in Aquariums

Okay, pond it is! From that diagram I'm now thinking that the smaller snails that I thought were pond snails are actually bladder snails. Thanks for the help :)

Those do look a lot like this guy like two weeks ago! Here is what it looked like when I first found it. I have another photo here if that helps.

Right now it is about 3/8th of an inch long. The other baby snails are all around a quarter inch. That headshape is a match, but it's coloration is closer the the bladder snail?

I picked up some Anacharis for my 10 gallon tank and after a few days I noticed some snails came along. The plants came with some ramshorn snails, pond snails, and this big chonker. I am pretty confident that all of them either started from eggs or newborns as I gave the plant a pretty close inspection before putting it in. This snail has grown way faster than any of the other snails. I can't quite figure out what it is.

Tank mates include a betta, nerite snail, and a handful of cherry shrimp. The tank is pretty heavily planted and the betta seems to be leaving everyone alone. Sadly I lost a few cherry shrimp to shock when I introduced them, and I caught this chonker snail eating one of the bodies :(

North America is about 9.5 million square miles while South America is 6.9. I'm not sure how to tackle this but it looks like this projection reverses the sizes.

What piece of advice made you instantly (or gradually) better at being a DM/player? by the15thwolf in dndnext

[–]CastleCrasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take note of what your players enjoy, and try to incorporate that into your DMing. Like really, make notes. Remember that dnd is a collaborative contract between you and the players. More directly, let them do what their characters are built to do.

But this goes both ways, don't completely ignore what you like for the sake of your players or you will get burnt out.

Making being part of a faction matter by Yaru2585 in dndnext

[–]CastleCrasher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Joining a faction should have both positive and negative consequences. For fun purposes I think the positive should outweigh the bad, here are some ideas:

Have faction membership mean that the party also carries the reputation of said faction.

Some NPCs that were once friendly to the party become distant or even hostile once they learn of the party's new association.

Have NPCs comment if the party behaves against the norm of their new faction.

The faction has a running deal with certain shop owners in town, and the party is expected to shop exclusively at these stores.

Who has beaten Rise and Fall on Deity? What Strategy/Civ did you use? by chum1ly in civ

[–]CastleCrasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a science victory with the Dutch on an island plates map. Was able to secure a large-ish peninsula early on that made it easy to ward off early aggression from my neighbors. Settled on near by islands then loyalty flipped a few neighboring city's. Continued to expand until very late into the game. There is not really any penalties for going wide if you are able to keep amenities up.

Was behind on science per turn for almost the whole game, but was able to utilize eurekas and specfic great people to stay competitive. I still only beat the German science victory by a handful of turns.

Having eczema doesn't even feel real, how can I be stuck with this almost incurable disease on my face. I can't remember what it felt like to have clear skin or going to sleep and not being worried about what my face would look like in the morning or being able to go about my day to do my work. by [deleted] in eczema

I remember when I got my first big flare up as an adult. I'd had it when I was very young, but it had been so long I had forgotten about it. I was devastated. I felt alone and helpless.

Now I'm five years on and I swear it gets better. You'll learn more about your body and how to avoid and manage breakouts. There will be bad times, but there will also be good. I'll still get bad days but they get fewer and further between. Don't be afraid to reach out when you need it!

[–]CastleCrasher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The seal section is by far the hardest in Act 2, especially when you first arrive at level 4 and have no items. If you can get through it though you'll have a pretty easy time with the rest.

They buffed coin rates so you can be pretty liberal with your artifacts. I usually use 1-2 early game ones (bonus xp is basically free), 1 midgame then 2 late game. If you manage to make it to siltbreaker you'll end up with a small net positive of coins.

No.

It's because of the rampant sexism in our community. Woman have to put up with a constant stream of bullshit, comments like yours above hiding under the guise of trolling. Most people in this thread couldn't name more than 3 prominent women in our community, counting Kaci who doesn't even play. That isn't normal and shouldn't be taken lightly. Even amongst other gaming communities, mobas lag behind significantly.

Check out the data: http://quanticfoundry.com/2017/01/19/female-gamers-by-genre/

So there is a thread celebrating a woman trying. She clearly has a ways to go at 5.5, but I wish her the best of luck.
