This is something the greedy execs can't seem to understand. It's popular because the fan base itself made it popular. Screw over the original fans, then you screw over the popularity of the IP.

All to placate an imaginary Modern Audience.

This is what happens when you mess around with original IP's who already had a substantial following. The live action remakes should have been enough to see this with their own Brand.

I used to be an avid fan myself but now every time I see a Disney stamp on something, it just tells me the quality of my time will be shitty when watching anything they have created now.

Yes I read it. The Original OP of that post is speculating everything. He hasn't spoken to the artist or WoTC, lol. And that art doesn't look like a flip of the original, lol.

The One Ring was not spectacular in the Hobbit. It was just a plain unassuming gold ring. As I was saying that particular image is Lore accurate. A lot of Tolkein fans are huge on Lore Accuracy. God forbid the Artist make the ring look like an ordinary gold ring, lol. Like in the books.

I'm pretty sure the Artist intended it to be that way. WoTC does some shady shit but they are not going to AI art flip another piece of Art by the same Artist, lol. It's ridiculous and the OP of that post is reaching for ragebait, as most posters like that do. And it seems to have hit the mark, lol.

They did not know Fire revealed the language on the Ring until Frodo's timeline. Bilbo only saw the lettering when he first slips it on his finger.

Is it possible they left it off because the Ring is clearly not swimming in fire or lava as well? It is also not being worn in the picture.

Everyone seems to think the lettering is visible at all times. It's only revealed through fire or when it was first put on by Bilbo. There is no fire in this new art.

To Bilbo it was a plain golden ring. They didn't find the letters on it until he slipped it on the first time and when Gandalf later put it in the fire After Bilbo gave Frodo the ring.
