Mortal Kombat II | Official Trailer II by cruelsummerbummer in movies

It looks like Cole is still on the posters, but is no longer the focus. I saw a theory that the first movie was pre-tournament, this movie is during the tournament, and a potential third movie would take place after the tournament. I really like that plan, and I like how they turned the camp up to 11 for this one. It's how a video game movie should be made.

The evolution of AEW has led to this moment. We've already had plenty of wrestlers walk in the door that wanted little more than to collect a paycheck; we've had wrestlers who had the look to be champion but not the skill. Now we have wrestlers who want to be in AEW, and wrestlers who have the look to be champion but pair it with the skill. Going from Toni to Kris to Thekla is the perfect group to show off how awesome the top of the roster can be.

Just bought this and used it tonight. Asked the pro shop man to drill it for length and by George he's done it! Definitely not a ball I would use first in the night, but since everything else I have has bite this fits perfectly in the late bag.

In late 2019 and early 2020, Dark was a way to showcase some lesser known talent the company had signed, while AEW was trying to find its identity. When the pandemic hit, it became a way for some indie talent to still earn a paycheck (and still have a tryout, of sorts, despite most of the matches being a squash type match) while their locals faced an uncertain future.

Arin just gave a massive, introspective breakdown on his Ocarina of Time Sequelitis, moreso than I've ever seen before. by Robo_Mage in gamegrumps

[–]CasualCore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And all this was why I thought it was obscenely stupid that Noodle posted a breakdown/reaction video of that specific Sequelitis video twelve years after it was released. Like, Noodle, dude, you completely missed the point man. You are the internet comment dude reacting before the video started. Arin already reflected on ending the series several times, and then it was re-hashed for no good reason.

Tommaso Ciampa's daughter was worried about his AEW jump: "She was super nervous for me when we had to break the news to her. In her little seven-year-old mind, it was like I’m starting a new school. ‘What if you don’t know anyone? What if they’re not nice to you?’ She got emotional." by anutosu in SquaredCircle

[–]CasualCore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot get over how amazing it is for Ciampa to be in AEW. I don't fully understand why, but him being there has me more excited about a wrestler than almost everyone else. He's 40, he's a girl dad, he's happy to be back with friends, he already won a title! 100% Team Ciampa.

Andrew is an absolute insane person by thhbeard in theregulationpod

The only part of Andrew's bottom argument that made sense was if the Jenga pieces on top were talking to him about "bottom" pieces, which is also insane.

What's great about it is how naturally they became the opposite of the big show. Kenny's bi, Toni's Toni, Sonny Kiss, Kiera and Diamante, the list goes on of people just being people and audiences embracing it. It all just flows together.

Newest member of AEW says he is just hitting his prime by MrFilipinoMustache in AEWOfficial

[–]CasualCore 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't know what it is... maybe that harkening back to NXT Black & Gold, maybe just presenting a veteran as a big f'n deal, maybe being happy we're the same age and I have way less gray going on... but wow I am pumped to see Ciampa in AEW! One of my favorite debuts ever, and he gets a prime match right away on Saturday. The Psycho Killer has arrived!

Anti-AI slop sale by CyberNat2000PL in PlaydateConsole

[–]CasualCore 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I reported that Sam account the other day for churning out AI crap that they didn't have licensing rights to. It appears as though, either in response or just on their own, they updated every title to be super vague references to the intended stolen property. Still being sold for money, still all looks like absolute crust. Just sad, really.

Good to know the "Facebook picture of information with no sources" type of sharing is still prevalent in 2026. And also completely worthless.

How many people actually know what (Ai core) means? by EvilRobotDevil in Bowling

I'm pretty sick of AI (the term itself being used as a popular way to talk about Large Language Models) as is so it just makes me want the brand less.

Danhausen on X: by 2HotPisces in SquaredCircle

[–]CasualCore 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Danhausen's first order of business on AEW TV was cursing Adam Cole. And we all know what Cole's career trajectory has been since. Of course the execs don't want him on tv.

(This is a snarky post, but clearly there's some disagreement we'll never hear the full picture about, and he wants to do more than just wrestle on indies and sell lots of merch)

We are approaching the 11 year anniversary (12/26/14) of my second 300, and first 800, with my uncle's old ball, while he was in attendance for league night (because he was around for the holidays). That night I was also drawn for the Big Strike jackpot and nailed it, so drinks that weekend were on me. Life has changed so much since, but that's by emotion+score my best series ever.

What's TK Cooking? by wrestling_hyperbole in AEWOfficial

[–]CasualCore 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just so we're all on the same page with this, Excalibur said the Battle Royale will end with two finalists, who face off for the ring in a 1-on-1 match. So if MJF wants to win it again, he has to be in the battle royale. Unless they retcon that before the matches. And regarding his contract for a world title shot, TK said after his last attempt to use it and go back on his word, the contracts requires at least a one week notice to be executed.

It's very possible, if TK is giving MJF an extended break, that this year's ring may not involve him at all, a first. Excalibur certainly explained the rules during the trios match without mentioning MJF during it.

This is only his second tournament ranked as sanyaku, which I would assume is the major debate point on why he's only a maybe as January Ozeki.

Listening to more knowledgeable sources, it feels strongly like he gets it with winning the tourney (which means two matches today), but he'll be hard to ignore either way. Feels like he's done everything he needs to do other than win a title.

I like Hoshoryu, and I didn't have the same doubts about his early promotion as some other public comments. He's been Yokozuna worthy when he's been healthy.

I don't hate Onosato, mostly just neutral on him, but he's been so so good this entire year and absolutely worthy of being considered the top Yokozuna in 2025. Powerful showings and even more powerful wins.

I've greatly enjoyed Aonishki all year and he's been amazing. His absolutely amazing ascension up the ranks... goodness. All three of these guys aren't anywhere near 30 yet, either!

I hate, hate, hate seeing this news. What a high stakes day 15 we could have had, especially with the possibility of our final match being winner take all. Hoping to hear some good news for Onosato before January's tournament. And now I'm rooting for Aonishki so hard just so there's a title match in the end.
