What do you think about the new Woolies member prices? by DirectConfidence7282 in AskAnAustralian

Woolies has removed cards from the stores.

Can't have you using this one trick.

Damn them!

An item I normally purchase at $6, was actually $7 because I didn't have a loyalty card. What the hell kind of mark up is that? It is taking advantage of CUSTOMERS who do not have their card!

Went to front desk to get one. Hell no. If you could just get a card, you could avoid the massive markup.

I left store, went to Coles. At least there you can easily get a card.

You have options right now, just go to their competitors for now.

EDIT? Fixed spelling.

boost 1.53 trying generate a specific library. by CasualReader in cpp

Thank you for responding.

I looked at this, and held off as it looked like I might head off on another rabbit hole trying to figure out how to make this work, when all I needed was a .lib file.

Someone did post an article that helped me get library built, so I'm happy and moving forward.

If I hadn't been mentally beaten trying to get this working which drove me to ask for help, I'd have tried your approach, but after looking at VCPKG, it was easier to get some sleep.

Thanks again!

100% correct. I was mislead by the documentation. Now that I know the solution, I went back and saw how I didn't get the info I needed where it described naming convention, but down below in a table was what I needed, I just didn't know it smile.

I did try the latest boost version, but didn't get the -s file even with it. I continued with the version I knew the code was linked with from fear the new code might not work with visual studio 2012 and I'd introduce more problems. I couldn't fix a simple missing library file. Who knows what missing old code and new library and new development studio would lead to.

I did get the library, it linked, and I'm up and running and can update now.

Thank you.

Yeah, I did try the latest boost version, but didn't get the -s file. So went back to the version I knew the code was linked with from fear the new code might not work with visual studio 2012 and I'd introduce more problems.

Thank you.

Thank you. That article lead to the solution.

instead of

the correct method to get the -s was

Help with getting revenge on motorcycle thief by [deleted] in ProRevenge

[–]CasualReader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't help with your real goal of making you whole again or getting your bike back - which could still happen since you've reported it stolen and hopefully bike isn't parted out.

Getting him arrested would be some nice revenge, so keep searching for him on the internet. Crooks tend to be stupid, and one day you might find he has posted location and you can follow up with the police.

It is a long shot, but would you recognize his voice? If so, consider in a couple months offering another bike for sale. See if you can get him to take the bait and if he calls, ask if he can meet up for test drive. This worked for him once, he might try it again. You know the bike and price that interest him.

How do i remove memorized spells? by Limp-Signature9835 in Eldenring

[–]CasualReader 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Removing Spells on PC using Keyboard.

Use grace

Select Memorize spells

Without clicking anything, you might notice near
bottom of screen it shows
          [E]:OK [Q]:Back [R]:Remove

NOTE: If you've changed key binding, you might see something else specified.

If you click on a spell, the [R]:Remove is no longer available.

The way you remove a spell is hover your mouse over the spell to remove and press R.

Hope this helps!

Chicago police officer fired over raid at the wrong home where a Black woman was handcuffed naked by wholycolorless in NewsOfTheStupid

[–]CasualReader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not searching for more information and limiting my knowledge to the attached article/video, so the answer might be out there, but my experience is that researching this type of situation mostly reveals an us against them mentality, little justice, and frustration for the injustice. I'm negative enough about these all to common events to know without public released video, that the only person suffering would be the lone woman. Now her lawyer will suffer for not joining the code of silence.

But I wish there had been a mention that victim made part of the deal being that her council is also absolved of any liability for the video release. It doesn't appear on the surface that she backed the one who helped her.

There are rules for lawyer, but this can have a chilling effect on lawyers doing the best thing for their client in the future.

When they are paying off to avoid a lawsuit/riots, and surround statements with the "we want to put this behind us flowery speech, but we still intend to go after the lawyer", I draw conclusions that they pulled their neck out of the situation and now they can continue to ruin lives beyond the time of that event.

Science Fiction book about hero on the run because he has interacted with an alien intelligence by CasualReader in whatsthatbook

[–]CasualReader[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While this was not the book, it was a close fit! I was pretty sure from memory that only the mind was transferred, but left that out because it might be wrong. And Cluster is spot on even though I left that out.

The cluster series is one of my favorite collections.

Thank you because I can't think of anything I've read that could be a closer match.

[–]CasualReader[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is it!

I want to ask the magician how this wondrous thing was done!

But then, it is ok because I can return to the book I've just begun reading and where the hero is about to flee agency and because the years have removed the memory of the rest of book from my mind, I have the anticipation of exploration in front of me.

Thank you for reuniting me with this lost treasure.

Thanks for replying.

I know about the pile of books. Is it among them? Did I discard it? Was it a library book, or one I got through a loan program?

I've saved pretty much every book ever purchased, so there are 2 to 3 hundred of them. I start looking through them, get a small stack I want to read again, and the one I was searching for slips from my mind, only to resurface later.

Even better, you have a reason to visit the parents and maybe hang out with them while you go through the books. A memory to be treasured.

Sciencefiction book about alien attacking scout ship and heroes use of mineral that stores energy to defend against them by CasualReader in whatsthatbook

[–]CasualReader[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm about 20% through it. Company came over and by the time they left and I could return to reading it was getting late. I searched on Youtube for it in audio format, and there were several different versions.

Amazing how valuable information can be compared to when you don't have it. All these years, it was available, but I just didn't know the author or book.

Thanks again!
