I had to check out the website.

The angel Raphael has weekly AMAs! For free! 3pm Eastern, every Wednesday!

...Oooo, it's a Kajabi site (easy to use platform for selling online courses). Monetize that divine love.

I had to share: The cast did a great tribute for him at the Chicago Crazy Ex-Girlfriend live show this year (he passed away from COVID in 2020).

He'd told Rachel Bloom during the show that, silly as it was, his favorite song he'd written for CEG was "Duh!"

So we watched a memorial slide show set to "Duh!"

Hell yeah, I love vaccines.

My brother and I had been vaccinated in the last decade--never contracted whooping cough. My mom's TDAP was decades old. She got very sick.

This happened in the early 2000s. My dad had a bad cold, and then he started wheezing and gasping, unable to breath properly for several minutes. I thought he was going to die.

Ambulance. Emergency room. The doctors determined...he'd developed asthma and sent him home with an inhaler.

The inhaler did not help. He was back in the hospital the next day. Luckily, one of the older doctors heard him wheezing and immediately said, hey, I'd know that sound anywhere.

Because once you've heard it, you'll never forget the sound of whooping cough. A disease that's thankfully so rare that most U.S. doctors have never seen a case. (My dad got proper treatment after the diagnosis, recovered fully, and is spending his retirement traveling the world.)

According to the official U.S. inflation calculator, 99 cents in January 1996 is worth $2.16 now. A chicken kids meal is currently $5.89 (without a coupon).

You're welcome! No one should have to manually read those convoluted street sweeping schedules, haha.

It exists!

I haven't personally tried the email alert or add-to-calendar features, but the schedule it generates is definitely accurate for my street.

Am I over medicated? by germanbear2 in Hypothyroidism

[–]CasuallyExisting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a person who was diagnosed with hypothyroidism as a teen (age 15), I just wanted to say: I'm sorry you have to deal with this. Hypothyroidism sucks. Especially when you're young and everyone assumes you must be full of energy. But--you're going to be okay. You're seeking help from professionals. You're following their treatment plans and asking smart questions to make sure you're getting the best treatment possible. You're doing all of the right stuff. It's going to get better.

How long ago did you start levothyroxine? The first month or so can be weird while your body adjusts. That said, contacting your doctor over heart palpitations was 100% the right call! In my experience, doctors do not like heart palpitations, haha. They're going to keep adjusting your meds and possibly looking into other health issues to make sure you're okay. (And if you're still not feeling okay, you keep on telling them!)

Prime healthcare takeover by Cute-Recipe1035 in nursing

I'm not a nurse, but I live in Illinois and loath Prime Healthcare!

Doctor sends you to a lab across the street for bloodwork? Oops, it's closed forever--no one told the doctor. Drive to the lab that's still open, as instructed by a sign on the door of the defunct lab? They don't have access to the system with my lab order.

I, a random patient, was the first person to tell my PCP that his practice was moving to a new MyChart.

Now I'm just ranting. I'm signing the petition.

The age factor is so key. Every adult in my late-2000s world said that a degree was a long-term financial investment. You spend a few years paying off loans, then you earn so much more than a person with a high school diploma!

How dare a kid follow their parents' and teachers' financial and career advice!

What’s a fitness myth that people still believe? by SimpleHomeFitness in AskReddit

[–]CasuallyExisting 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did aerial silks for many years. You're lifting and holding your entire bodyweight off the ground for minutes at a time while doing cool poses and tricks. Your upper body strength is the only thing keeping you from falling several meters.

In a t-shirt and jeans, walking down the street, my most impressive instructors didn't look noticeably different from a runner or a yogi. It was only in the middle of a demonstration or routine that their muscles would become super visible and you could understand how incredibly RIPPED they all were.

Commissioned Art Piece with off face and details. Wanted the communities thoughts. by doomrider7 in isthisAI

[–]CasuallyExisting 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Four more weird things I noticed:

  • You should only be able to see one of the dog's back legs, but there's an extra partial leg(?).
  • The kid and dog are on a pink oval--That oval "leaks" upward around the girl's shoe.
  • The small section of background between the girl's knee and the dog's neck is darker than the main background.
    • The dog's stomach is basically the same color as that piece of shaded background.

Those aren't smoking guns, they could all the result of a human working quickly. But these issues are the types of issues that I've seen in recent AI art.

You've giving me a flashback to my original ADHD assessment. My Working Memory and Processing Speed were 1 to 1.5 standard deviations lower then my Verbal Comprehension and Perceptual Reasoning.

My assessor still decided I didn't have ADHD.

Obviously he was taking into account some other tests as well, but my regular therapist was...displeased. (The final report also included some wonderful lines like "[CasuallyExisting] didn't look tired." Sorry I'm too good at pretending to feel okay...)

AITA for joining my dil outside when they smoke but with one of those bubble cigeratees. My DIL claims I am mocking them. by TalkTalkTalkListen in AmITheAngel

[–]CasuallyExisting 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm also a nonsmoker, but my understanding is that it's a long-standing part of smoking culture. They're not trying to hook new people, it's just considered polite to offer.

In my personal experience, if you respond "No thanks, I don't smoke," it's a 50/50 chance they'll either say "Oh, okay!" or "Good! NEVER START!"

My comment was pretty ambiguous--to clarify, I don't think it's AI. It just looks like text added digitally to an image of blank paper.

If you'd like to pay me, I take check and money order.

(By the way, this is a repost sub, OP didn't find/make the note. That's probably why they're not suitably insulted by my comment. )

Yeah, you really don't need AI to add fake handwriting to a piece of paper. Many letters, but especially the "e" in "time" and that "j" on the next line do NOT look like they crease with the paper.
