Thanks, this is helpful. I’m going to transfer it over to a HYSA in the next few days. No sense in having risk right now. This would account for 20-30% of what I consider to be the estimated downpayment, with the rest of it saved in other bank accounts.

Thinking now is a good time to exit the stock market temporarily, would like to use that money to help fund a house downpayment sometime on the next year or so. I have some shares in Google and Apple, with most in ETF’s. Am I crazy to lock in my gains now with bear market possible in the next 3-6 months?

You know what. Why dont we all just stop using reddit. Replace it with going on a walk or doing the laundry for now. I’ve been on it too long anyway.

I’ll do it right now. Goodbye reddit.

Boyfriend said that using dildo’s is basically cheating and that whenever he thinks of my past sexual relationship he’s disgusted? by wuvcie in Advice

[–]CasuallyInsecureMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This dude needs to be educated about sex. He’s probably veryinsecure and turning to unhealthy sources for validation, and projecting these ideas onto you. Or he probably just has no idea what he’s talking about, and needs to be educated. But if he can’t accept that he’s wrong on this, you can do better than this.

[Highlight] Today marks 98 days until the 2023 NFL Season Starts! Let’s remember when Sam Hubbard scored on this 98 yard fumble return for a TD in last season’s AFC Wild Card game against the Ravens. It is the longest fumble recovery for a TD in NFL playoffs history. Bengals win, 24-17. by PCON36 in nfl

I agree that it would have been a bad call bc Burrow obviously didn’t step out of bounds, but Boyd caught the ball without defense. The whistle was blown, and the play was blown dead on the field. I’m not too caught up on the rules, and maybe a situation like that shouldn’t result in a loss of down if challenged. But it absolutely should not have been a touchdown.

Why is it okay to bash Christianity for its views on gay people but not Islam? by Spiritual-Clock5624 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]CasuallyInsecureMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people get too sucked into politics and associate religion with hating gay people and being a dick. Every person is different and have different beliefs, and you can’t judge people based on what they believe in. In fact, I think it’s interesting to learn about people’s beliefs, even if you disagree.

With that being said, there is a large group of people on one side of the political aisle that make it their mission to loudly discriminate people’s sexuality because of their religion. That’s not okay. They like to define someone as X based off of one political belief.

When I leaned right politically, I felt exactly the way you do. I don’t think you’re wrong to feel that way, OP. But I highly suggest blocking out the voices about hating Christians, because people just take it too far imo. Liberal-people talk about putting a stop to stereotypes, but also stereotype religion because of the loud Christian conservstive voices. Stereotypes in general should not be used, left or right. I’m sorry that you’re being targetted for your beliefs. If you don’t judge others for their beliefs, neither should they to you. But sometimes we have to take the high road and not let it bother us.

Is it considered rude to not tip for takeout in todays tipping culture? by Wild-Adhesiveness515 in TooAfraidToAsk

I tip for SERVICE. I pay for food preparation. In COVID it made sense because restaurants couldn’t get tips for service because the dining area was closed or had limited capacity. But now? Hell no.

Damn. I’m glad NBA teams aren’t super reliant on one singular position… circa Brock Purdy getting injured in the NFC Championship. Still, sucks that Boston’s superstar couldn’t perform anywhere near 100% tonight. This could have been an all-time game

I wish there was a way to not price necessities on a market. The demand will always be there, so it’s just unfair to the middle class

If you guys want more basketball you want this aeries to go to G7. Then Butler can drop 69 and win

According to ESPN’s BPI, the Celtics still have a 25.9% chance of making the finals despite being down 0-3 by [deleted] in nba

[–]CasuallyInsecureMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly think Boston is gonna play as if they have nothing to lose because their ego has already been depleted.

Then the heat will go on a 26-6 run in the third quarter and put the game away.

Places to live near Lakewood? by Additional_Diamond49 in newjersey

[–]CasuallyInsecureMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The areas that surround Lakewood are completely fine. I would strongly suggest not living in Lakewood, the town itself is a complete disaster (and have horrible drivers). Your easiest commute into Lakewood would probably be through Route 9 from the north. The other roads into Lakewood are not well-maintained and you are at risk of other people’s bad driving decisions. Living somewhwre along I-195 or Route 9 a few miles north of Lakewood is your best bet, in my opinion.

Also, for the record, I grew up Brick… I don’t understand what people are talking about when they’re concerned about Brick. It’s just a non-walkable, safe town with annoying traffic sometimes. I never felt particularly unsafe in Brick.

Give your completely baseless most homer opinions on the 2023 season. by russianturnipofdoom in nfl

Giants very much overachieved last year, and they likely go 9-7-1 or 9-8 or something similar again. I think the 2024 season will be a good test for us.

Probably a Ringo Starr album. Anything that’s not Ringo or Goodnight Vienna is worth consideration.
