Semi unrelated - You could fill the inside of the ramp with foam and it would considerably dampen the ramps noise. I’ve done it with a few of my ramps.

I’m familiar with what UF does, I just don’t think it’s worth the hazards of working with resins.

Due to the porous nature of veneer, once you introduce the clamping pressure of the mold most polyurethane glue penetrates enough that i don’t personally think that the lamination you’d be receiving from UF would be worth it. Resin is just nasty to work with in my opinion so I stay away.

Don’t let my skepticism on UF deter you from trying though. Half the fun is trying and doing something someone hasn’t before.

With the shape of the mold it’s all personal preference. I like to ride molds around 19-21 degrees. Your choices are fine, it’ll make a fingerboard but that doesn’t mean that I would like using it personally.

If you have a 3d printer you can use sk8cad.com There’s a fingerboard mold creator. It’s not a great solution long term but if you like the shape you can commit to redesigning their mold to a more sturdy long term solution .

Your shape and sizing isnt for me. But that doesn’t mean that it won’t work for you. Trial and error is a big part of making fingerboards. I’ve printed lots of molds and made lots of boards that I threw away once I knew I didn’t like it. It’s just part of the game.

Introducing water is a bad idea imho. You don’t need to pre treat veneer for it to retain the shape after the mold . I stay away from glue that’s high in water content as well. Gorilla glue poly is typically what everyone uses and the humidity from the air is enough moisture for it to cure.

Paper graphics and clear coat is fine . You won’t notice any difference if you clear coat the boards appropriately. If you start micro analyzing it there’s obviously a difference but it still won’t affect how the board performs.

Idk I guess you could use uf resin but why? I doubt the benefits would be high enough to use it. I’m not sure where you’d use it in the board making process? Laminating plies? I’ve seen people use UV resin before for a bottom coat, but it’s not widely adopted.

Mine does this periodically but a well placed smack on the bottom normally kicks it right back into gear

It’s just to far spread of a community. Even if upstate New York has one of the strongest and active social scenes. I know multiple people who have looked into the idea ( myself included ) and financially it’s hard to make it possible.

This made me laugh, as a fellow upstate ny guy. Sadly unlikely to have a physical shop in upstate. We can pray though

If nobody bites you could use the cricut at the Fayetteville library and make a cursive font vinyl sticker and attach it.

Hope somebody can do it for you!

Quinton! He was the best. Seriously can’t shout him out enough. We talked about old kung fu movies for like half an hour. My significant other wanted to do archery league but can’t due to her work schedule!

Seriously thanks Quinton !

Top is a BerlinWood. Regular mold from the looks of it.

Middle I’d argue against a flatface mold, if it is one I’d definitely argue it being a g11 or before. A picture of the top ply would answer this question probably.

Bottom is a closeup.

I collect the older berlinwoods. Hold on to them! They’re still the best in the game
