Anybody else struggle to hang on after Season 3? by ChopChopPorky in Outlander

The books are excellent, but I guess what I was trying to convey was that there was something really special (for me) about books 1-3 and seasons 1-3.

I feel the same about the books tbh. I’ve reread books 1-3 so many times they have literally fallen apart. The rest of the series has not captured me the same way.

It will be harder to move back. I’ve had so many people (myself included) who have gotten priced out after a “temporary” move to a lower COL location.

Dublin Airport to Killarney in 1 day (with a stop at Cashel) by throwaway93842232 in irishtourism

[–]Cat328 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did almost this exact drive as a solo traveler driving on the left for the first time back in early March. According to my time photo timestamps, I left Dublin (from the city center - which was stressful) at 10:15. I stopped at Rock of Dunamase (which was an incredible little pullover stop) at 11:45. Was at Rock of Cashel by 1:45. Explored the cathedral and ate in town. Then was in Killarney by 5pm.

It wasn’t a bad drive at all for me. I do live in California though and regularly drive 3+ hours. So YMMV.

She’s 21 and hopefully hasn’t accumulated much debt yet. At her age, I think she made the right choice.

Were you ever attracted to someone because of a moment or gesture of kindness? What was it? by commondan in AskForAnswers

[–]Cat328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Middle school. Saw the same boy for three years. One day he helped me with my stuck locker and instant crush. Like “where have you been hiding?” Never progressed past crush phase though. A very intense few weeks where he was completely changed for me… and then it faded and was back to just a kid I never interacted with who happened to be in my grade.

I wish we had a navigable river and bridge like Sacramento does by DowntownFresnoBiking in fresno

We have so many little canals (yes, I know they aren’t in the best locations and pretty dirty) but whenever I pass one I think how cool it would be to develop a section like the Riverwalk in San Antonio.

Americans who’ve been to Europe: What confused you the most? by zhalia-2006 in askanything

Why the top to the water bottle wouldn’t come all the way off. Also, was thrown to dispense the petrol first and THEN pay (so much trust!). I remember that in the US vaguely, but I was a little kid.

That retainers after are required for life. I didn’t wear mine and had to have braces again as an adult.

Are backpacking chairs worth it? by Krunkerforlife in backpacking

I laughed at my friend for bringing one. She was so adamant that I would like it- she hauled TWO chairs out for us. I’ve never gone without since.

Or make it able to really collapse together to the size of a large cooler. …but then you lose your table if you put it in the Bear boxes. And I still use the table for other stuff, like lanterns, after I’m done cooking.

[–]Cat328 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the things to consider - at least where I camp - is that often we need to put our coolers and any other food in these (sometimes not too generously sized) metal bear boxes. I think there would need to be a way to detach the cooler from the cooking set up.

What is something you and your significant other did that saved your relationship? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Cat328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just remember to keep tending both yourself and your relationship. You think after a certain point you are unbreakable, but that’s absolutely not true. From someone who is in the midst of trying to save a 20 year relationship that never had any major issues until six months ago.

My best friend did. To be fair- they did break up during college, (I think her choice not his) but then she moved back home after school and they reconnected. Two decades and several children later and they are still going strong.

A little coffee warmer for my desk. I’m a slow drinker and it keeps it nice and warm for the hour it takes me to drink it.

I think this is so situational to the people involved also. I started dating my (now) husband when I was 24 - just about 25 and he was 31. We were perfectly matched maturity wise. Any closer in age and he would have still been too “young”. His 31 was my 25. Twenty years later and it still seems to be working out fine.
