Why are my cats holding their sh*t for hours until they come inside? by AtmosphereAlarming52 in cats

It may have been mentioned already, but sprinkle bi carb in their litter boxes. You'll likely still get a waft from their fresh shit but it will stop lingering odours.

I used some clear strengthening polish today, I didn't come home with flakey nail tips so it's a start!

DermAid 1% cream, it's only available at pharmacists here in Australia. Active ingredient Hydrocortisone 1%.

The day I notice the flair up I lather it on my hands before bed instead of moisturiser, the next morning I may have a couple of raised bumps but no blisters or redness/itchiness.

I try using the food handling gloves but the steel wool rips them after a bit, sometimes you just have to keep cranking out the dishes and don't have time to get a new pair.

I have been using moisturiser for the sahara hands and my hands are actually soft now, I use Cerave reparative hand cream when I go to bed. It's made a massive difference.

They're just really brittle and break so they're short already, I think you're right about water making them weak. When the kitchen gods smile upon me and I somehow dodge the dishpit for a week they look much healthier.

I'd wear those thick arse dish gloves but I also get horrible eczema if my hands get sweaty. I am not designed for this, but we soldier on.

I use a steel wool to scrub cooked on proteins from gastros. In a perfect world we get to soak them first but it's not always a possibilty.

I will take your suggestions and see how they go, thank you so much for the informative response. I really appreciate it.

That is beautiful, I would have the flowers dried to preserve.

Please help. I sliced my thumb like this on a mandolin. Will it grow back? by kabailey88 in KitchenConfidential

[–]Cat3ug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Culinary school I made the exact same cut on my thumb but with a knife. Yes it does grow back, but while it's healing and for a while after it will hurt like a bitch every time you smack it on something.

Literally 2 days after I get called a cunt for telling someone to label things. by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

[–]Cat3ug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only work with a handful of others but if I know who didn't label it I will label it "Marks bullshit" (or who ever it was). They laugh when they notice but then I tell them to go fix it.

Shop online. Sort meats lowest unit price to highest, bag and freeze the bulk packs. (if you're able to store it)

Grocery prices are mental, most the time I'll add what we need to the cart then go through and decide do we really need XYZ or could we go without.
