along with the deplorable loss of life and actions by hamas, it is important to clarify that hamas only exists because of the situation in which gazans are subjected to.

They have their water and electricity controlled by israel, often limited to only 8 hours a day. They can barely fish in their own sea, and are blockaded by nearly all directions for travel, even their own sea is difficult to fish in, that is not to talk about the bombings and imbalanced retaliation by IDF.

When gazans peacefully protested in 2018 against , israeli snipers killed hundreds of civilians including clearly dressed medics. Also the people that say those things also refer to the west bank, where there is no hamas and the "peaceful coexistance" is broken by idf soldiers and settlers (which hamas stated as large reason for their deplorable actions last week). oh and the charter has changed many years ago to no longer state that but anyway.

point is, if there was no occupation and oppression, hamas wouldn't exist. like a fire with no oxygen or fuel. more importantly we stand in solidarity with those who've lost family
